I just got home from the hospital after going in on Jan 2nd and they were saying that I most likely would not make it but I was blessed because they got all the cancer and I had 6 surgeries in 6 weeks and #7 was the last one and they said I was a miracle. I am so thankful for my life and they were able to get all the cancer even though they had to cut both sides of my lungs to remove it so I am working on my breathing and walking. So you hang in there and keep the faith. I am a big fan of your playing I enjoy hearing you play and watching your videos. I like your style and your approach to music. Thanks and God Bless
Cancer sucks. Ive had 2 different stage 4 cancers. the last one took my voice. Wish i knew about voice modeling software before. Good luck with your surgery.!
OK, I was fine till you said "Joel Osteen white" LOL!!!!! Then I had to wipe tears of laughter out of my eyes the next five or so minutes. 🤣 I'm still laughing about that! Thanks for putting this out so soon after the KGD update, I was delighted to see it pop up this am. I love this sort of stuff, and your approach is so no nonsense and from a proven opinion and skillset (as demonstrated in your other videos) I can truly value. I've long been of the opinion that pretty much any electric guitar if it's serviceable can be a hidden gem. Kick cancers butt!
Glad I found this video, I’ve been trying to get up the nerve to try building a kit. I also needed to tell you that my doctor gave me the news that I most likely won’t survive 2 to 3 years before pass, that was in 2006 and I feel fantastic here in 2024.
I purchased this exact kit the only thing I've changed I replaced the pick guard with one that was loaded humbuckers and split coils sounds and plays great !
Got a headless kit. They don't sell it anymore. The veneer was very thin, couldn't sand the glue marks. Not world ending. Neck was super chunky I sanded it down a lot. Put EMG pickups in it. Fretboard was composite material. I yanked the frets and replaced with jescar super jumbos. Im happy with it and was my first kit. It was a leo jaymz kit.
I'd have loved to get that when I was in high school! There wasn't necessarily a "maker" culture back then but there WAS shop class and kids learned how to use their hands (my dad was an electrician) so this would have been a popular thing back then. Kids have no idea how good they have it now! Good luck with your treatment, sending good vibes...
My $.02 is while everything has some influence, the pickups and the setup are the two (by a long shot) biggest factors. And between the body and neck, I definitely notice a bigger change in sound from a neck swap than from a different body wood. I have quite a few mahogany guitars and they run the gamut in terms of both acoustic and amplified sound.
I want to buy this for my son as a Christmas prank. I'm buying him a nicer guitar that he wants. However, he can open this first and think WTF. Any tips for making it look really bad. I'm think instrument plug inoperable. Missing a pickup. 5 strings and a ugly paint job with temporary paint. Any other ideas?

Omg I did the exact same thing!

Very nice playing 👍
Good luck with your recovery.
Did you happen to get the nut width? I'd like to order one when I order this kit.
Mantap sekali bunyi nya, saya suka sekali model stratocaster, manis sekali suara dari single coil
nice vid . do u reckon the mahogany body has any influence on the sound?

❤🐈❤
It definitely needs some real pickups in it!
А хотя можно и не красить. Просто покрыть грунтовкой и лаком.
Можно покрасить как франкенстрат или под цвет твоей шапки.
Покрасить бы её!
