Malaysia is stepping up as a global manufacturing hub in semiconductor industry especially in chip design, testing and packaging. Beneficiaries: Oppstar, Inari, QES, Frontkn, Globetronics, Vitrox, etc
In Malaysia people have this mentality that investments are running away to Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand & so on. I was just wondering do people even read anymore? 😂. All the headlines indicates that Malaysia is the clear winner in ASEAN in terms of attracting FDI ever since post pandemic. There are some investments that choose Indonesia or Thailand like in the auto sector & apparel. But these are industries which Malaysia never had any speciization to begin with. In the industry we do specialize in, FDI have been better than ever. Malaysians can be too pessimistic a lot of the times. One thing that I am quite disappointed though it seems like even after decades of attracting semiconductor companies to come here we still specializes in low skill semicon manufacturing process. It seems like investors are unwilling to invest in front end manufacturing plant in Malaysia. We need these type of investments more than the typical testing & packaging investments if we are ever to become a rich country. Sadly I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

While it is a good and calculated move... theres going to be a limit. Like thailand and turkey rraching the ultimate limit in terms of handling such a geopolitical move. We have to be very careful... i bet the gov will know whts best
i believe many people are love to stay at malaysia after this hehe
Sooner or later...
All this countries told to pick side qbd they will ..
When elephant and elephant fight the grass is not spared.

Yes, Malaysia is the winner
Yes under leadership of Anwar, no racism. Just Peace and prosperity
i wasn't saying that i'm disagree that M'sia is not the winner at this moment, i would disagree if others say M'sia a big winner, maybe a small winner. what i'm trying to say is that M'sia get to win right now is not because this country did an exceptional job to get this kind of offer but mostly due to this country's geographical advantage. this small win is not something to celebrate yet, what matter the most is how do they continue to make use of this advantage while they still have it in their hands to generate the best results for themselves in the long-run. in another word, the goddess of luck won't shine on one person for too long so it gonna depend on how he can make the most profit out of that short period of time before the luck shift to another person similar to how vietnam seize their opportunities from china when they're in trouble during covid.
Ya gold price dropped.
Outside of China, Malaysia has the most number of overseas Chinese.
Iran too. Ie oil?
Not a permanent deal because of new global issues arises, religion tensions and racism in the local like every european and us countries are currently facing.
Still in better situations than some in Europe and US.
When 2 greedy elephants want to fight becoming bigger, it is much better for hyena to wait by the side waiting for fallen meat rather than directly involve in a conflict serve none of its own interests.

So we are basically orbs country
Why force us to chose a side? That’s bully. Why can’t we all live in peace ☮️ no war, no guns
Sadly, one of its neighbor country is going the opposite direction! 😂
I think i know which country 😂
Yes. Let Anwar do his magic.
Malaysia has more than its fair share of internal problems like corruption, racial disharmony and affirmative policies. However partnering right allies will help overcome all these issues and more. In China, the prospects are limitless for a small belligerent nation like Malaysia.
Maintaining status quo between 2 super power is the right move, dont be stupid like philliphines and risk their country become a proxy war in their soil 😢…
They can solve the territory dispute without US and dialogues instead but they choose to welcome US with more military bases and one of them is near taiwan 😂😂😂…
Not sure what their politicians are thinking 😂
WW3.
Wow I wonder whether you know Sabah fishermen have been denied fishing off the coast of Sabah because of china coastguard boats? At least Indonesia chased the Chinese boats off the Natau islands and Philippines is trying to claim back their coastline. Malaysia is a gutless wonder compared to ID and PH
@@wtIUpITp1E0wMsydV19c0FUmIXvCU ph have guts? Do you mean guts to call american forces to come in your country and help defend your territory because you have so much guts?

Malaysia would have been this successful if not for the imprisonment of Anwar in the 90s by Mahatir
Wonder how some peoples thougt like that since mahathir already did all the best before.. even anwar also pickup by mahathir from the streets, given political positions for so long time.. if you want talk about if, anyone may say anwar maybe just like other street demonstrators if not pickup by mahathir ..🤣🤣🤣
@@askarsepoi Mahathir was really good until he lets power get into his head, right about the time after Lee Kwan Yew retired. I was there I know.
You Malaysians then voted him back? Dumb or not
@@wtIUpITp1E0wMsydV19c0FUmIXvCU No. I'm further down. All the way south of Johor. And yes, I got bitten by Mahathir's fiscal policyin the 90s after he jailed Anwar
Reminder to WALAUN, please gain knowledge more before talking negative & being toxic. Pressuring PMX to step down & while cursing him wouldn't make U look smarter tho.
Malaysia priority on neighbour s n US 2 maintain relation their own way
Malaysia should stay neutral and quiet. Talking loud in global stage does not help the economy but talking wisely does.
Thats why election we vote anwar ❤
Like india, Malaysia takes a neutral stand
if Malaysia to be better than Singapore and whole South East Asia, only two things to do, race & religion policies must go…
2R-enabled divide & rule policy is their political tool since 1970s. We can change it by opening the door towards East(sabah sarawak) in search of potential leadership coming Pru-16.
Even already succeed during 80-90s without such kiasu & karen politicians... i wonder if you know about guthrie, sime darby, petronas, klcc..🤣🤣🤣
There is nothing to do with race and religion. Everybody just need to be committed to working very hard. As a nation, Malaysia need to bring every up and not leave anybody behind. If any part of population left behind any progress will not last long. Look at South Africa where the majority of population were left behind and the nation in turmoil. If you look at America, crime and resentment of minorities create turmoil. Before incident in 1969, race consideration was not in place.

I wish that we have a company that can give a fight with tsmc in making their own made semiconductor chips..it doesnt have to be on par…just little bit below them is okay though to give them some fight and to boost our economy…by having our own chips it can give us some advantage in helping our national cars to grow better in technological advancements
Remember what Lee Kuan Yew had said about two elephants fighting and the grass in Malaysia getting trampled and suffering.
2 elephants..usa vs China...the grass..malaysia.
Grass will always grow ~~
He never implied anything about Malaysia. Read the source statements properly. Why do you Malaysians like to twist words? Your English standard is so poor nowadays?
With both elephants places their babies (ie data centers) on your lawn, you have the safest grass 😂
We HAVE a problem with China. China is at our doorstep with their claims on our right to the South China Sea. This is a common problem that is being shared by most countries in Asean . China is tormenting all but it took the Philippines to stand up and to get help. So to say that we do not have a problem with China is merely a hope and dream come true that does not seem to be happening. The problem is the courage to admit that we do have a problem with China and to act fast.
Because we are 3 world country we can't afford to take sides...
Not really

Nope, India is the ultimate winner. Before US and China tension, there are no Indian CEOs gimmick, no "fastest growing ecnomy" gimmick, no "rising" superpower gimmick. India is irrevelant prior to the US and China tension.
No tech giants going to invest in India. The only thing India can go is IT support.
