Thank you for uploading this video, for me an unknown one. I made a subtitle in spanish, because the lines in the one in youtube are too long, and some translations are not well translated.
He was a spendthrift who left his half sister in poverty. A different picture of the author, however, emerges in Out of the Shadows - The Untold Story of Arthur Conan Doyle's First Family, written by Georgina Doyle, the widow of one of the writer's nephews, John.
Yes, its known now that Arthur Conan Doyle wasn't as nice as once thought. Whilst his poor first wife was dying he was carrying on with an affair with his mistress who would later become his second wife. One she had the ring on her finger her treatment of her step children was terrible, especially the poor step daughter. Sad that Doyle didn't stand up to his spiteful new wife really.
@@b.m.t.h.3961 Funny, I’d heard differently. That while yes, he and Jean felt a connection, but he absolutely refused to actually see her out of love for his wife, even though she was dying. That they’d gotten together only after she died. (Not sure about the kids though).
Most people can't get away from their father's legacy, Adrian indulges in it. It's quite wonderful to watch.

This is amazing to see. The actual son of Arthur Conan Doyle.
Very interesting. A shame that he died so young, only a year after this film was made.
Regarding the subtitles: At 3:13 it's not a "Quincy" but Thomas de Quincey, author of "Confessions of an Opium-Eater" and "Murder as a Fine Art".
This is a delightful video. "Have to speak to Mrs. Hudson about this."
Lol at the comments trying so desperately to find something to be angry about.
Fabulous man
Neat man
is that an imposter?

Who is the girl?
Joan Bakewell
@@1oldcolt Thank you.
He clearly tried to capitalize on his father’s fame. Neither he nor his brother had an ounce of Doyle’s talent, sadly.
Jack the ripper's son supposedly.
Rather pompous sort of fellow . Arthur wasn’t that way.
Denis and Adrian= Yuck!!
