jake, man, you gotta understand that you're the best part of this show. i know it must suck when this stuff happens to you in the moment, but the silver lining is that your freakishly improbable streak of bad luck is so entertaining for the rest of us. we love you, but when you lose, we win.
Final standings Jimmy 21 Jake 18 Joezach 22 Joezach is the real winner because of Jimmy's automatic 3rd "disqualification" in episode 6 that should have deducted 3 bonus points.
I went back and watched episode 5 which is where the "controversy" is. Mike is the one that says something about an automatic third. Mo only says that Jimmy's contestant came in third, she says NOTHING about it being automatic or there being a penalty. Mo is the ref, what she says is official, not what Mike speculates. And Jimmy's contestant did finish third in the race, so it's not like he came in 2nd and then they bumped him down to third. Jimmy's championship is legit.
well hopefully we can slow down on the 14,000 minors who have had irreversible (and horrific) sex-change surgeries and puberty-blocking procedures...and that is all based on 'gender-affirming care' which has exactly ZERO scientific evidence behind it
Jake is causing the penalties. I watched this episode before they did watchin playin and Ronny didn’t get any penalties. As soon as Jake picked him, there was a ripple through the quantum realm and the penalties appeared.
If you want to know how we got here, my summary of the previous episode: Episode Recap Episode 7 Draft Order #1 Joezack: Nathan Welch (Purple) #2 Jake: Justin Belluci (Red) #3 Jimmy: Mike Azzinaro (Blue) The kushiness was hitting at the exact right time for this recording session. Joezack spends the first 7 minutes, literally 7 minutes, of the episode deciding who to choose. Joez doesn’t clap for Mo-could that cost him the season? Justin basically clears the wall in Off the Wall and the Little Cowboys linebacker takes the early lead. In Wild Pitch, we go back to early 90s bunting with Brett Butler beating out Jay Bell to give pretty bot Nathan the event victory. PASSAN!!! I’m hearing reports about a potential shake-up in Playin’ Guts teams. Do we have a new Team Zackjake? PASSAN!!! We have a three-way call your shot in Mad Max. “Two-Second Penalty” Jake somehow gets no penalty but of course gets no bonus points, though his competitor certain put his fist through the wall. Jimmy takes home the Call Your Shot point while Joezack and his kid, Sunshine, take home the event victory and episode lead. In Jump Jump, Mike in Blue wins by default as the army ranger and surfer dude flail about. The Aggro Crag decides the whole episode as Nathan goes the wrong way but still wins, Mike comes in second, and shlubby Justin brings up the rear. Episode Results #1 Joezack: Nathan Welch (Purple) - 1625 (+4) #2 Jimmy: Mike Azzinaro (Blue) - 1350 (+3) #3 Jake: Justin Belluci (Red) - 1075 (+1)
Current Standings #1 Jimmy: 21 points* T2 Jake: 17 points T2 Joezack: 17 points Team Jimmy expands their lead with a 2nd place finish. Team Jake drops down into a tie for 2nd after their Army Ranger linebacker can’t handle the pressure. Joezack wins the episode but will need to do a lot of work to complete the comeback. We are onto the reset where by my calculations Joezack would get 1st pick preference being 25 points less on the season than Jake.
There was no DQ. When has Mike ever been the one to overrule Mo? Seriously, only Mike says “automatic third”. Mo, with the official results, just calls it as a third place finish.
Yeah, but MIKE called it automatic third not Mo. Official results from Mo just said he finished third, which was the result. Mike has been wrong on the call lots of times, and we ALWAYS go with Mo’s call. If Mo had called automatic third, I’d agree 100%, it’s a DQ. The issue is, she doesn’t. We can’t have a world where Mike’s commentary is more official than Mo’s official results.
If you're reading comments before you watch the video, firstly what the heck are you doing? Second, prepare yourself for the most Jake-coded episode in Playin' Watchin' Guts history
Thoughts on Mario Party points at the end of the season. Get "X" amount of points for calling the most correct call your shots, most wins, losses, DQ's, penalties, etc. But, you don't know which points will be given like Mario Party until they are given at the end of the season finale. Could draw only 3 out of a hat or jar and those could be the deciding factor. Figure it could be a fun neat idea that isn't too powerful but adds a little something
Since there's three episodes left in the production season, plus the All-Stars Special, will this continue for the third production season? I ask because the show received a revamp for the 1994 season which might affect how you guys do the drafting.
@@williamdowling7718It’s when they changed the crag to the Mega Agro Crag or something like that. It became more metallic looking and was altered a bit. That’s about the only difference I recall.

Once again proposing the following power up scheme: Power ups should be on the board and drafted, with last season's champs allowed to chose if they want to pick 1 and 6, 2 and 5, or 3 and 2. Some might be undrafted, or you could give out all 9, (draft the top 6 and randomly draw the leftovers) 1.) "Call the Crag" - immediately before the Crag, predict the winner of the Crag. Reward = 1 point. 2.) "Choose the Loser" - before any event, predict that one of your opponents will finish last. Reward = 1 point. 3.) "Double Down" - Double your bonus point on your Call Your Shot. 4.) "Coattail Rider" - After the 2nd event, choose a competitor other than your own to finish first overall. Reward = 1 point. 5.) "Mock Draft" - Before the draft, but after contestants have run out, predict the outcome of the draft (write it down in secret). Reward = 1 point. 6.) "Trifecta" - Before any event (not the Crag), correctly predict how each contestant will finish. Reward = 2 points. 7.) "Fool's Gold" - Predict that the competitor in 1st place after the first event will NOT be the overall winner for 1 point, or that the competitor in 1st place after TWO events will not be the winner for 2 points. (Not eligible to use if there is a tie for 1st place.) 8.) "Buyer's Remorse" - If you drafted first overall, force a trade after Event 1 with whoever finished SECOND in the event. 9.) "Copycat" - Copy one prediction-based power up your opponent makes to also earn the reward if the prediction is correct.
Congrats JoeZack! Excited for another victory! Glad to see that Jimmy will have the points from the DQ removed (and the points from this episode reviewed... I'm pretty sure Zack mixed up some of the scoring and Jimmy got both NeverLast (which is right) and Over1000 (which is supposed to be for 3rd place, which he was not)).
10:13 I wonder who was coming up with the ideas when mike would introduce an event. Like was it him or a producer saying “what if we threw a baseball past his head while he was talking” 😂
When you draft your player, you guess their age. Later, when they "spill their guts," if you guessed correctly you are immune from a DQ stealing any bonus points earned in that episode. Guessing the correct age also unlocks the "double points call your shot" option for the first round of the next episode. Continue to guess the correct age each episode, and you will continue to unlock the "double points call your shot" option in the first round of the following episode.
I think I know why Jake picked Ronny. He figured Joezack probably wanted red especially with how quick they came to a decision, so if he chose red because of the tiebreaker he would've ended up with Ronny anyway ao there's no difference between picking Ronny or Justin except for the unlikely case where Joezack picks Ronny, in which case they'd actually be stuck with Ronny and he would get Justin. In other words, picking Ronny was pretty much the only way to actually have a chance at getting Justin.
For a season that was pretty uneventful for "Jake's contestant coming up short", only Jump Jump could have been the moment to trigger him this season. 😂
If Jake had won the Crag with Jimmy getting last, it would have actually be the best outcome for JoeZack because they would have still gotten first overall for the episode but Jimmy would have gotten third Will be really interesting to see the final point tally and how those three fake points of Jimmy's factor in
