Western Boxing is always disrespected in traditional Asian martial arts circles, but when history is examined, it seems it is respected in nearly every culture it has been seen in. It appears that many Asian arts have adopted some of its' techniques while those practitioners downplay Boxing and its' effectiveness, even though it is clearly seen to be effective despite its' rules limitations.
Could you make a video about Pahuyuth's supposed Primordial Muay/ Ling Lom/ Muai?(While punctuating their faults, scams or whatever random shit they got their hands dirty on)
@@leonardobleda6699 Around a decade ago there has been a sort of Muay Thai crusade against Pahuyuth. There are still gigantic posts on reddit and SEA martial arts groups explaining the situation and exposing their lies. Their influence nowadays is little, Muay Boran has bigger problems, so there is no need to make that video. Besides lies and historically altered facts, at least the Pahuyuth guys kinda raised some critical thinking on some Muay Boran myths, compared to other qualified masters who still blindly believe without questioning.
Pahuyuth had a good library which he drew from. He was not the master of anything especially in Muay and Muay Thai. He frabricated and recreated based on his book collection. it was people like Alex Tsui, Leung Ting and many others who bolstered Pahuyuths claims. Pahuyuth was mostly involved in weapons(Krabi Krabong) and he was trying to expose what he thought was misrepresentation to cover his own lies. Its a gross misunderstanding between physical education and modern forms vs the old forms. Thats what is still missing. Their school never produced any instructors, fighters or anyone of note despite teaching for like decades.
Like silat a lot of weapons defense bullshido, I m silat instractor... knife, machete defense is very dangerous and a 99% of styles are fake and useless in real situation.
Krabi Krabong is a weapon techniques Krabi (กระบี่) is a double edge sword we calls Krabi and for Krabong (กระบอง) is a club, a mace. It's a blunt weapon techniques including quarter staff as well. We calls them Krabong. Muay boran is an unarmed technique use it when we lost our weapon. It have many techniques more than modern Muay Thai that only have punching, kicking, kneeing, elbowing and clinching techniques. But Muay boran would have throwing, grapping, breaking limbs techniques too and etc. It's like Muay Thai is a nerf version of our fighting style to make it become sport as you see today and Muay boran is the old version of our fighting style that we use in acutally war.
In my book "Muay Boran: Historically Accurate" there is a bibliography with all the sources. Most of them are in Thai and at least half a century old, so getting your hands on them would be extremely difficult. I will share the list on my website so that everyone can research independently. Baeprien Muay Thai is the only one I've translated and made easily available as it is probably the most important work in Muay Boran literature, I recommend to start from it.

Real Muay Boran was formless like water (Bruce Lee)
That's actually true, masters encouraged fighters to develop their own techniques. Styles were not enclosed in rigid systems like nowadays.
