I've just found one of these in my garage. It was my dads from many many years ago. Still in the original tin and nice and shiney ! Fresh spirit and it was like it hadn't been hidden for 40 years..(or however long)
Ah, those were the days. It was after doing that that my wife decided that the Trangia meths stove was the best approach. Certainly brought back some memories from the 60s.
Hi, Thanks for a really super 96 Video! I LOVE this video, and have watched it a zillion times. Taught me how to use a Primus. I posted one similar, on you tube, but it is done in your honor, out of respect. Algentry1
@vasixstrings1 kerosene should work,i bought a number one primus stove the yesterday for 5 bucks soaked the leather plunger in vegetable oil over night then stuck it on the end of a texta to expand it a bit replaced the filler cap seal with a o ring then unblocked the jet with some steel electrical wire and had it going a couple of minutes after that.you can make everything you need for the primus and probably this type aswell
I found one of these stoves in my garage...but I can't get it to work....I have followed these instructions to the letter, but it still won't pump the flame up nor will it sustain a flame...can anyone suggest a fix for me....by the way love this video

When you think of the beautiful, functional things that were available in days gone by, you realise that we haven't progressed at all.
That is a thing of beauty.
The Argau Camping Toasters would be a great accessory

You can find heaps of them in eBay.
@canuckplaya100 One tank would last about 4 hours on this stove.
