Never use foil coax or double braided for the antenna. More shield is good for feedline but not for the double bazooka. About 85% shielding is optimal.
HI Dave, I know that this video is a few years old but I thought it was great. I am in a strata with very little room. I am using a inverted "L" for 80 meters. I was wondering if you could tell me how I could build an inverted Bazooka antenna. I know that there is a commercial one out there but it would be over $175 to buy it and have it delivered to Canada so I would rather build if I can. Thanks for you videos Cheers, Dave VE7CMI
Not if it has the foil wrap under the shield. The foil keeps the shield from interacting with the center. Reactance maybe. I forget but this design doesn't need a balun or RF choke and the foil will defeat that. Most 75 ohm cable has foil. Plus the solid center can break more easily. So if you do find some with out foil be very care not to bend it or roll it up in a small roll!
Missed you Dave. No one does antennas like you. Hope you stick around.
good to see you back!
Hello, Dave, happy belated Thanksgiving! Good to hear from ya. Another cool antenna project. Wow,
THanks for making these videos.
Sure missing your videos Dave. Hope to see you posting again.
put yoga and meditation aside. Listening to Zed Zed is pure relaxation :)
Thank you.

Hi Dave I have a question about your antenna can i feed it with ladder line and will it be a multi band antenna with a tuner if I do? Thanks ke4fwe
Was wonder if its possible using RG-6 coax sense its 50-75 ohm
