wonderful! im trying to get the same thing for my triton studio. im considering buying just the board, and finding a cool enclosure for it like a broken drum machine or something. thanks for putting this up!
Hi. At the end of the video I posted how to format the SCSI2SD. Also, once you have the SCSI2SD formatted it needs to be plugged into the SCSI port of the Triton while the Triton is powered off. The way the Triton boots up it will look for the SCSI port first and then fire up the rest of the keyboard. If you connect the SCSI2SD to the SCSI port after the Triton is powered on the Triton will give you an error message. Thanks.
i have the pro x...im working with the audio box trying to get sound...working with studio one ...im not hearing sound from the keyboard...how do i get sound
Hi. Thanks for subscribing. If you are trying to trigger sounds from an internal sound engine in Studio One you'd need to have some type of midi interface going from midi out on the Pro X to midi in on the interface. If you are trying to hear the Pro X sounds you can go out of the Left or Right Outs on the back of the Pro X into one of the 1/4 inputs on your interface. Thanks.
Hi. SCSI is only a storage option. If you are trying to use the Pro X as a midi controller if the interface you're using to record sound into Studio One does not have the old school 5 pin midi plug, and only has USB midi you will need to get a 5 pin midi to USB interface. They usually cost less than $50. Thanks.
Has anyone found something similar to this "SCSI2SD" but internal instead of external? Meaning to replace inside of the keyboard, replacing Korg's SCSI port/connection, something similar to Floppy-to-USB SFR1M44-U100K but for SCSI instead of Floppy.
@@Valdes_Music1 Thanks for the information. Do you mean EXB-SSD? I have Trinity Pro X though, aside from EXB-SSD's cost and availability, I wonder if EXB-SSD can be used on Trinity. I've seen a video of EXB-SSD for Trinity but the video does not show really the installation though.
@@Valdes_Music1 hi there 2 products on this site,,,the one you mention is $79 & theres a similar one w/o intl shipping for $65. are they both same? even with the inlt shippnig therez a charge for the shipping, dont know why? i want it for my Triton Studio. hope this will work.
@@NiharSavala Hi, the unit you want is the $79 SCSI2SD v5.5. They've since raised the price. When I bought mine I don't think it cost that much. It's a great little unit and restores life to classic keyboards. At the end of the video I show you how to flash the SD card as well. Thanks.
Another question. When you partitioned your sd, did the korg then allow you to read all four partitions at 2Gb a piece, for a total of 8Gb? Or were you still capped at 4Gb with two partitions? Thank you again.
Hi. I believe the Pro X will read up to a total of 8 external scsi drives in sequence. I partitioned the SD card into 4 drives of 2GB each in sequence which the Pro X read for a total of 8GB. I hope this information helps.
I have a hard disk Quantum Bigfoot 5.25 series from 1996 of 4.5 GB. Does it fit a classic korg triton directly to EXB SCSI ? of course with the right cables
Can you tell me if Can you tell me if this would work on the Triton Le with the EXB scsi card or is it exclusive to the triton classic, there is no video or anyone on the internet who has used this on the Triton Le and see if it works?
Can you play the samples directly from the scsi? I assume this would be on bank E? Or do you have to then load the sample into one of banks a, b, c, or d to play them? There is a similar video for exb-ssd where his sd samples are just on sample bank E. Im trying to determine by best option! Thank you for this vid, and thank you for your time!
Hello. The way the sequencer in the Pro X works is that if you are going to trigger "samples" in a sequence the "sample" has to be loaded into a slot on Bank E. So you'd have to have your sample stored on the SD card and also assigned to a slot in Bank E, then you would save the sample as a single shot sample or if you are using the sample in the sequencer mode you would then have to save the SEQ with the sample to the SD. Thanks.
you all probably dont care but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Matias Carmelo i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hi. For midi purposes only, you would need a 5pin midi to USB cable. This will allow the Triton to send and receive midi data to and from the Mac via the Mac's usb portal. You can find these for about $20 these days. If you want to load samples from the Mac to the Triton I recommend getting one of these SCSI2SD drives as they work really well. Thanks.
Hi my friend…i have a Triton 61 classic and im using SCSI for all my sampling files and my question is there any way to load my samples and some of my PCG files in Triton Extreme?
Hi. If your samples are in a .wav format you should be able to load them into the Triton Extreme. The Classic Triton PCG files I believe are not compatible with the Triton Extreme PCG files.
I have a Korg Trinity HDR pbs tri. It has a scsi port and I have a 4gb old school he hooked up to it. I can save .sng, .pcg and audio files to it. Will this work with my Trinity?
Hi. As long as the scsi port is a 25 pin port this should work. The Triton reads it as an external hard drive. You do need to format the memory card which I show you how to do towards the end of the video.
@@Valdes_Music1 Thanks, Dominick! My Triton is 20+ years old and working just fine but I worry about losing the data when the old drive fails. YOu're a lifesaver!
