The part that stood out to me in her book was when her father was chewing them out over the phone and even accused Derick of “brainwashing” her for not going back to USA for a photoshoot when they told him they could not leave El Salvador because they promised their leader they will stay to complete the mission. Jim Bob even told Jill that if she doesn’t show up, then the network will cancel the show and it would be her fault. I know it is little, but I could not stop thinking about that.
10 dollars an hour? I worked in Marshalls back in 2018, miminum wage at that time was 8.25 in IL. I got paid starting at Marshalls 10 an hour with some benefit, like if I work holiday, I would get paid time an half, have personal day off, and if I work certain amount of hours a week, I would get holiday paid off. So for a show that was making millions and Jim Bob to paid them 10 an hour, is pathetic esp his grown adult children with families.
