Ann was an extension of Bob Fosse plain and simple. She could bring to life exactly what he had in his mind. Her passing definitely indicated the end of an era. RIP lovely lady.
She always could portray what Fosse wanted in his form of dance the VERY BEST! She just had the knack and talent for it I guess. My name is Roxane and all my child hood was called Roxie. Thanks for doing my name justice . LOVE your original and very best version of this musical. !
@@marcnissanwoodworth7748 you're a fucking idiot to even comment on the use of an apostrophe. If you don't have many friends you know why. What a loser you are.
It's so different seeing her than listening on the soundtrack because she does a wonderful job despite the many comment on her voice which i love! This is wonderful!!!! Thank You!!!! :)
Ann was quintessential B'way. Chk out vids of Ann dancing thru the yrs. Amazing. Legs up to her neck! RIP. Passing at 71, far too young. Dance among the stars now, beautiful soul.
@rogerthat0704- Yes, Anne Reinking Did play Roxie in the original run of Chicago in N.Y. at the end of the run. I saw her then - front row seat - no further than 2 feet away. It was definitely Anne Reinking - she was awesome.
@fashionglindaguru i think she did, not the original but another one. I believe there have been three, one with chita, one with ann, and one with bebe.
@sweeney60 The "original" was with: Chita, and Gwen. Gwen had to have surgery and was replaced by none other than Liza. Ann, at the time, was (this is really fuzzy but it WAS the 70's) at the end of her relationship with Fosse.
@Robert Lee, Countertenor I have a problem imagining two middle age woman carousing in speakeasies. The storyline leads me to believe that they both in their 20’s (not pushing 50.)
Actually both Renee Z and Catherine Z-J are a bit young for their roles, but delightful anyway. Also the speakeasy definitely wasn't a youth venue as such. The demi-monde has always spanned generations.
This was ALREADY on Broadway from April 1975 to August 1977. Anne was Bob Fosse's girlfriend and replaced his ex-wife, Gwen Verdon, as Roxie Hart when Gwen left the show. Later, Bob dumped Anne for some other younger dancer, just as he did to Gwen for Anne (and a few others!). =;-)

gosh she was gorgeous

!
This is how Broadway is done folk's. Ann is sublime. So talented.
But not spelling.
@@marcnissanwoodworth7748 there is nothing I misspelled.
What are you referring too?
FOLKS not Folk'S 😿🔫

Ann loves your level of culture
The one thing that amazes me about this number and this show is that it oozes sexuality and yet it's so subtle and smoldering
She’s 46 in this clip-Still at her peak. She was Such a hard-working talented lady!!
RIP Ann, another life lost in 2020.
God given talent. she's utter bliss to watch. So sexy and of course the most stylish dancer EVER !
It is hard not for me not to have many favourites, Paul Gregory. She was beautiful.
Ann is an amazing actress!!!
Competency. Complete and total. You don’t get to witness this today. Everyone on that stage got some major skills. What a pleasureZ
Ann DID do the show on Broadway in the original run. She closed the run as Roxie. I was there, I saw her.
Who said she didn't?
love this woman and her amazing talent....
It's so different seeing her than listening on the soundtrack because she does a wonderful job despite the many comment on her voice which i love! This is wonderful!!!! Thank You!!!! :)
brava. she is having so much fun! And she carried that torch! Longest running revival ever!
She's brilliant!

I've been fortunate to see Jim Borstelman, who is to Ann's left on the first 2 whispered "Roxies." He is amazing.
I remember her in Pippin.
A real Fosse dancer.
She. Is. Perfect.
Thank you! Thank you SO MUCH!
You're right daneacts, Ann and Bebe originated the roles in the 1996 Broadway revival. I saw it twice with them.
@rogerthat0704- Yes, Anne Reinking Did play Roxie in the original run of Chicago in N.Y. at the end of the run. I saw her then - front row seat - no further than 2 feet away. It was definitely Anne Reinking - she was awesome.
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
My God she's fantastic.
I love her!
YAY! Its so Fosse! x
Incandescent! WOW!!!
She was the firs Roxy I have seen in Broadway; I love Chicago!!
Can't take my eyes off her legs. They go on forever. 😍
What pure talent looks like
That's how it's done.
Fab. does our name justice... Roxie you do it best!
J'adore ca! Ilove Ann.
In the original run was Chita Rivera and Gwen Verdon and the revival was Bebe Neuwirth and Ann Reinking
Ann Reinking was Roxie later in the original run.
@@richardmayora1289 Liza Minnelli also covered for Gwen.
❤ there was only one and rankling. I got into a little later in life, but I enjoyed it was
I love this
❤❤
@ Kerri Davis in the movie annie which was when she was 33 her voice was somewhat deep. maybe hereditary
is this Grace Farrel from annie?
1:30 oh dear lord is it hot in here
i fucking love this girl
RIP Ann Reinking 🕊😎
Hello!Don't you have the part of James that passed in the beginning?
BEST roxie EVER!
Nothing against Ann Reinking, who is indeed amazing, but I saw Gwen Verdon. Once you've seen her, nobody can compare. Well, except maybe Chita Rivera.
@fashionglindaguru i think she did, not the original but another one. I believe there have been three, one with chita, one with ann, and one with bebe.
You can't fool me, I know Molly Shannon when I see her.
티파니가 날 여기까지 오게 하네
1995년 록시라니!!!
She sounds like Gwen Verdon in this song.

Ann did play Roxie in the original run there was a picture on twitter of her and Gwynn in Gwynn's dressing room.- both dressed as Roxie.
I love her but I always say...what happened to her voice?!?!?!
Erm she got older
shes always had that raspy voice
I really like Ann & I’m not trying to be rude, but isn’t she a little old to be playing Roxie?
Roxie and Velma are "over the hill" - check out Gwen and Chita, no spring chickens either.
@Robert Lee, Countertenor I have a problem imagining two middle age woman carousing in speakeasies. The storyline leads me to believe that they both in their 20’s (not pushing 50.)
@Robert Lee, Countertenor I think Ginger Rogers age was on the high side but believable.
Actually both Renee Z and Catherine Z-J are a bit young for their roles, but delightful anyway. Also the speakeasy definitely wasn't a youth venue as such. The demi-monde has always spanned generations.
No honey. Her voice, though was always a little raspy, was never EVER that hoarse.
@MrDefyinggravity1 yesss
She sounds an awful lot like Gwen Verdon here....
Boys are pretty hot, too.

I love her, but she reminds me of Karen Walker in this.
You can tell FOSSE choreography with your eyes closed.
No stage performance of Chicago will ever work for me after seeing the movie!!
Ugh.
Seriously??? You'd watch the movie instead of seeing the full length version this clip comes from??? That's mad!
Say what?? You prefer that choreography to the Fosse one?.... I know that to tastes the colors but yikes...
The movie is great fun, but oh, come now. CHICAGO is theater.
J'adore ca! Ilove Ann.
