    I have the quiet 5 gal and I LOVE IT! Just wish I could attach a handle; at 5 ft, hard to drag around. Nevertheless, I actually use it as my vacuum in the house! It’s so powerful and quick, and only takes minutes for a living room!
    A little cumbersome in small spaces, so I bought the 2 gallon one for bedrooms!!
    Unfortunately, no wheels!
    DeWalt, make one more slim with a tall handle for us short people! I love that I don’t have to change the bags for months at a time!!!!
    I’m DeWalt all the way!

      I’m not much taller so I get it! The vacuum I keep in my house is the handheld model. I have wooden steps to the second floor and dust collects there. The size of the handheld/cordless makes it easy to cart around. I still use my Shark and Roomba for whole room cleaning but the handheld gets where the others don’t.

    Just bought the Dewalt 6-gal 'quiet' shop vac (Model #DXV06PL-QT). Bought a DXVC6914 Hepa Filter for it. All Dewalt literature states this is the right filter. It is not. The filter on the machine is much smaller, roughly 5-1/2 X 5-1/2. The 6914 is 7-1/2 X 7-1/2 and absolutely will not fit. Any thoughts?

    What I want to know is if any of the off brand hepa filters found on Amazon are as efficient as the Dewalt branded filter. Its ludicrous to charge 50.00 for a filter when there are companies selling a pack of 2 using the same filter media for 30.00.

    Hi
    I just purchased a Dewalt shop vac. I was wondering how do I tell when the vacuum bag is too full and after watching your video I guess I don’t need to use it if I don’t want to, correct?

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  4 місяці тому

      Hi Mike! Correct, you don’t have to use the bag that’s only if you want to contain the mess of the dust and take it out and throw it away versus emptying the canister directly into the trash. I honestly don’t know how you would tell if it’s full other than feeling it and maybe listening to the vacuum, it might sound like it’s struggling. Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the video. H
    ow do you clean the filter? when do you know you need to clean the filter? I maily vaccum outside the usual dirt collecting on drive way when you have trees. I love the vac but not sure what is the best use and cost effective way to use bag or filter.

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  10 місяців тому

      Hi! You can shake the dust out of the filter every couple uses if needed and I often use my air compressor to gently blow dirt out from the folds. There's no one size fits all answer, it's mainly as needed. I also listen for any changes in the suction or engine. If it sounds like the vacuum is struggling, I look at the filter. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    Unfortunately video does not answer my most basic Qs - how often can the store-bought replacements be washed before replacing? Also, is the one provided when I bought the DeWalt shopvac also washable? Lastly, if I don’t care about the higher micron filtering, do I ever really need to replace?

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  8 місяців тому

      There’s honestly no way to answer the first question, each user will have a unique set of circumstances such as how often they use it and how much dirt accumulates based on what’s being swept up. When it looks raggedy from washing it or the machine sounds like it’s struggling, replace it. Also, I don’t know what model you purchased but the users manual should give some guidance for the filter that came with your vacuum. Lastly, you don’t need to replace the filter that came with it with the micron filters if you want to keep using the standard ones. Over the life of your vacuum, you will most likely need to replace the filter several times, but again, it’s as needed.

    Do you take the filter out before vacuuming up water? Thanks

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  Рік тому

      The canister styles can be used with liquid if you’d like, the bag type cannot. The canister type will become saturated after several tanks though, and it would need thoroughly dried before reusing. I personally would remove it if I was going to vacuum water because I wouldn’t want the hassle of dealing with the filter. Double check with your vacuum manual just to be sure your model can be used with or without.

    • @American-Plague
      @American-Plague 9 місяців тому +1

      You don't need the bag. All the bag does is make it easier to empty. For that matter, you don't need either for vacuuming liquids. Liquids will destroy the bag and the filter isn't filtering anything out of the exhaust as the liquid IS the filter. There's no dust flying out of the exhaust when vacuuming liquids. Using a filter when vacuuming liquids is just ruining it faster. There is a float inside the vacuum that shuts down the suction power once enough liquid has been sucked up.

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  9 місяців тому

      @@American-Plague Agreed. I only suggested using both because the viewer asked about the HEPA filter so I assumed they were concerned about dust particles.

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  2 місяці тому

      That all depends on how often you use it and what materials you’re sweeping. I use my filters for a long time and just take them outside and clean them.
