Chorus:
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into spring
These are a few of my favorite things

RIP to a legend, a man of gold with the golden voice. I loved listening to his music, and I loved this song in particular because it was the soundtrack of optimism and merriment.
Everyone, I hope y'all enjoy your day with a big smile on your face, with Tony singing in your eardums.
I find myself popping over to hear this genius track every so often, regardless of the time of the year because it's just so slamming good, much like tonight. Rest well, sir! ❤🎶

TONY BENNETT - My Favorite Things
It was Julie Andrews herself who started the association in our minds of MY FAVORITE THINGS and Christmas (or if you prefer, 'the holiday season'). Four years before she sang the song in the movie version of The Sound of Music, Julie introduced it to American and Canadian audiences - in long ago 1961 - her 'Christmas' selection for a black & white TV 'holiday special' hosted by Gary Moore. Raise your hand if you remember Gary Moore.
Thought of this, when someone much younger declared (below) “But it's not a Christmas song!” Okay, then - a seasonal song that turned 60 this year! My favorite composer Richard Rodgers didn't live to hear Tony Bennett's version of My Favorite Things. But I believe he would have declared this one by Tony - after Julie's original, the best-ever rendition. You agree?
On his Facebook page today Tony extended an invitation to his fans:
“'Snowflakes that fall [stay] on my nose and eyelashes...' What are some of your favorite things?

Thanks for sharing Tony Bennett. Celebrated elsewhere this day [search] " Great Melody, Great Lyric, Great Rendition, Songwriting Workshop, Harmony Central "
Favorite note below from NORTON DUMONT (3 months ago) that "This album was recorded in Great Britain where 'favourite' would be the spelling, much like 'honour' and 'saviour' etc."
[I replied:] Yes, and flavour, and odour, colour and yogourt and .... you get the idea. Thanks for the informed note, Norton Dumont. Oh yes, and here in Canada it's spelled "Labour Day" -- by people who prize the connection with merry olde England.
@@MarkBlackburnWPG And neighbour(s) as well. Thankyou for all the info and I do agree with your sentiments about this being the next best rendition after Julie Andrews. But isn't it just a brilliant jazzy version of the film song?
Two of my favourite things - off the top of my head - would be the sound of distant church bells and also hearing the noise (the screams and laughter) of a school playground as you happen to walk or drive past during the children's breaktime.

Why so many down votes?
It's "My Favorite Things," not "favourite."
He must be French Canadian !! hahaha

Canadian spelling. Wake up.
