SFosterS I watched an interview with Josh where they asked him about his vocals he said when he hears the sound that he likes or something he wants to achieve he just trains his voice until he achieves it. he's got incredible vocal Talent his natural voice is very very bluesy and and raspy from what I've heard he said he had to train to cut through that and get a clearer sound. I'm the early recordings and videos when he was like 15 he sounded that way
Papa Kiszka on the mouth harp for "Roadhouse Blues"! Love it! And Josh's vocals are probably making Jim Morrison smile in heaven ... or wherever he is. ;-)
So, Josh can sing lower, also.. good, he will be needing that as he gets a little older, as male voices change. Singing lower is real cool too. Maybe they will do some Allman Bros or Skynyrd sometime!
Jake is building his style every day. He'll be a force to reckoned with very soon!! So are Josh, Sam, and Danny. Hell yeah. Its great to see them progress!
Absolutely! I described it this way: "In the middle of 'Highway Tune', a smoldering fire within lead guitarist Jake Kiszka sparks, leaps, and burns with over 6 minutes of blistering, bluesy, scintillating sound." [13:20 to the end of the song]
I put this video, shot by Rockin Rick Belanger (ua-cam.com/channels/IQvtkrHYt5f3TVJ3EdRDFA.html ), on my list of the Best Greta Van Fleet Videos: www.gvanf.com/best-greta-van-fleet-videos.html#frankenmuth
Just some improvisational jam. I’m assuming it’s not to your liking. They’re young yet & still cutting their teeth so to speak. This was a special hometown show so they were experimenting a bit more than a typical tour show.
Oh I see......Well, in that case I do beg your pardon. For a second there I thought it was some out of tune, bum note nonsense. They're 21 man, teeth should be filed down to nothing but pegs by now. Dude just hasn't got the chops to match the swagger, plain and simple.
@@matthewtrisch257 Rhythm section feels entirely static, bass notes aren't connected very well in the chorus, vocals are almost parodic, harmonica playing is uninspired, lots of really iffy intonation on the guitar solo during the trading with the harmonica (and not in the "the sloppiness makes it good" way).
These boys take on just a slightly different vib when they play with their dad. Always straight up bad ass blues. Thanks dad. 👍 I swear their level of playing seems elevated as well as their connection on stage. Almost like it's just the five of them alone. Like so many others, music is hugh in my life and I am so incredibly psyched by this young band and what's to come from them.
PEOPLE - TAKE A DEEP BREATH: These kids have a recorded output of 8 SONGS TOTAL. You hyperventilated teeneyboppers OF ALL AGES waiving the GVF is the "savior of rock music" thing really need to dial it back a bunch. GVF are 4 kids parroting their favorite band and competent musicians at best. There are THOUSANDS of much better bands far more deserving of your attention. REMEMBER: Those bands who fly the fastest and highest - crash the hardest.
virmico1 have you seen these guys in concert? I’ve seen them 7 times thus far & they’re ass kickers. They’re better every time I see them. A full length release will drop this summer. That should affirm the supporters or the naysayers. I believe it will be an excellent release.
There’s a lot of talent here. Someone said they only have 8 songs , saviors of rockin roll ? Just 8 songs , all very good and only getting better every month . GVF has stated they have more songs , l can’t wait to hear them . Destin to be a super band.
They have way more than 8 songs and these songs that we are hearing now were written 4+ years ago. If the media hypes them up then that is no fault of theirs. Don’t undermine their talent and drive.
They’re not saviors of rock at all because rock never died. They’re bringing back a classic sound to the modern day. A nice big refresh from all these metalcore bands with synthesizers.
How in the fuck can he do both Morrison and Plant like vocals? Please play this in TO when you come!!!!!!

We will have to disagree on his chops. Guitar Player seems to think enough of Jake Kiszka to have him on their latest magazine cover.
Absolutely dreadful version of Roadhouse Blues.
Justan Optimist how so??

WOW! THIS IS A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!
Dad is great
GREAT !!! Go Papa !!
roadhouse blues is such an anthem
Loosen up on that guitar!
Turn the mic up on vocals can’t hear it.
Jake just tore off on a tangent there on Highway Tune, didn't he?! 😄 He said, "You guys are goin along one way or another..."
Wonder if they'll all be follically challenged like papa one day.
twinsmm1 hopefully it's the music genes they inherit and not the hair genes!
this vides may prove, that the Doors could be a realy cool band, if they were technicaly excellent
Is he a Monk or something
Meditates a lot too, who knows maybe when he gets tired of the rock star life he'll retire to a monastery
