A Balcary Walk

A circular walk taking in the high cliffs of Balcary, Auchencairn, Kirkcudbrightshire, with views across the Solway Firth to the English Lake District. With views also of Bengairn and Screel, together with a sea-level view of Balcary Bay, you will get a great flavour of what this area has to offer.

Just came across this fantastic film of Balcary. As a young man in the 70s 80s and 90s I have walked those paths and soaked up all of them views and in all weather conditions to fish Balcary Point, the Flat rock and Rascarrel Bay. Nowadays would be a Struggle. But the Memories from Balcary will live with me forever. Many many thanks for this beautiful footage Michael and All the very best for 2023. 🙂👌

Thank you for the nice comments. Lived in Auchencairn for 13 years and this video was taken just before moving back to England in 2020. Now live in S. Lakeland but much prefer the Galloway area, and it's much quieter!

I'm a right above knee amputate and fish via a wheelchair is hard getting down to the flat rock
