Westie, I don’t know how to say this but your videos are absolutely amazing! I play dmz solo all of the time completing missions, and watching you play dmz like getting the weapons case makes me want to be more involved with dmz. You Definitely have the most underrated videos I’ve ever seen like sniping six man teams. This mode is definitely underrated. Keep up with the amazing content man. You always cheer me up whenever I have a bad day. 👍 🎉😊

Pro solo tip: spotter scope beats stim/smoke 1000% of the time. To be able to survey areas without giving away your position is paramount when playing solo. Plus finding stims and smokes is easy-peazy.
Spotter scopes are useful but smoke and stims are easily more useful and stuns are great for pvp
I never go in without a spotter scope. NEVER.
@@Deathmare235 idk, with the spotter scope it's easier to avoid being close enough to use grenades if you're just trying to survive. Maybe if you use a thermal sniper like in this video it's less useful.
@towned having said that all the streamers I watch playing solo (phixate, westie, Stod, onic, markusggez) tend to use stims and smokes rather than the spotter scope.

U can actually just ping the car, if the sound cue is "car mark" or "ltv mark" its only ai or bots, but if the sound cue is "enemy car mark" or "enemy ltv mark" now those are enemy operators (found this the hard way lol)
I’ve been soloing a lot lately, stealth makes for fun game play.
Even more satisfying when you smoke another squad by your lonesome.
I had a really peaceful solo run today. |Got everything i needed. Hit the extract and a Chinese six man rolled me getting on the chopper. Its ups and downs this game but i think thats why i love it.

I almost exclusively play solo in DMZ. I don't know if it is just me but, has DMZ gotten WAY more sweaty during the past 2-ish weeks?? I have had the roughest games lately. Ashika solo is a death sentence and Al Mazrah seems crawling with 4+ man teams who do nothing but hunt people. So many of my games have been EXACTLY like the first clip. Spawn, and 2-3 minutes later, a full squad is on me like stink on sh*t.
Ashika is an absolute nightmare. It’s a death sentence for solo’s it is basically shoot on sight. Vondel is less PvP but the ai is on crack but if you are careful you have a better chance of completing missions at least.
Yep same here. After about 2 minutes it is safe to say somewhere there is a pre-made team of six hunting your butt. Personally that aspect is ruining the game. For the most part, it is the cowards that team up and hunt people. Honestly, I basically add anyone and everyone now because I know down the road I am gonna run into a platoon. Whenever I join to make a platoon I make it a point to not hit up a hunt contract. When I am solo, or even a squad of 3 guys, and I get a hunt contract on myself I try and make it to the top of the control tower. I found that is the easiest place to fight a platoon. I stay up there and evaluate until I see how is coming after me. I have won many 1vs6 battles up there because most platoons are full of idiots, that split up making it easier.
For a guy who mostly plays DMZ solo, this is the epitome of our toils. Love your amazing content mate 🔥

Yesterday I had a pretty good solo run. I mostly played Vondel while I had missions to do there. Almost every game there was another fellow solomen pleading for help. I picked up every plea for help I could and after I do that. I check their missions to get a sense of where they’re are at in Dmz. Mostly everyone I ran into yesterday were very very young solomen.
Westie, my new favorite game as a solo. Is to find all the hunt squad contracts, then immediately cancel them. Screw the premade squads 😂

I do the same thing. If I come near a hunt squad contract , I’ll just cancel it or let the timer go out . But a 4-6 man squad should not be allowed to hunt a solo player
I kinda wish they had a solo DMZ mode. But fighting squads is also super fun too lol
Solo would be so much fun, less AI and just do your thing. More real players and less AI is more fun
I kind f wish they would do that. I played more solo in the beginning but it got harder because of the teams joining each other. My last match one teammate went off on his own I hit a hostage contract just to have it in out back pocket. We ended up doing it and as soon as I got on the chopper a team came in and attacked us. Somehow I got back off the chopper with the hostage ran away dropped him so I could run faster and defend myself. The remaining teammate got killed said don’t worry about picking him up I hid on high ground a good ways away. He left I ended up making my way back to the hostage and to the chopper to exfil. Figured the other team would still be waiting since the hostage hadn’t been killed because they definitely knew where I dropped him. It was exciting being solo at the end because I had to back track a good part of the map.
I actually don't agree, but I can understand your point. I think there needs to be a mechanic in place that disincentivises forming large platoons. Things like disabling the ability to use killstreaks, disabling the mini-map and for full 6-man platoons, making them permanently on the mini-map and full map.
Yeah and ability to kill every Player in Platoon with one bullet. Bullshit, its part of the Game. Deal with it. I Play solo or Duo with my buddy and all we do instead of Missions is hunting Platoons. 😊
@@Westie Yeah maybe a damage nerf? Like 80%/75%/70% and so on. Imo exfill shooters cant consist in taking a helicopter and flying everywhere, you are supossed to be alone, it makes sense right?
What I love about this game is that it is always an adventure. You got cocky at the end though, if you'd kept your head down you'd have got out. Good game play and story, thanks!

That 5 man ticks all the points of being premade:
- Formed very early on into a game, especially if done on Al Mazrah within 5 minutes of the game starting
- Absolutely no comms is a massive red flag, especially when there's more than 3 in a group
- Going out of their way to hunt down anyone who does anything near or to them and denies any pleas that pop up
I've heard some very worrying stats relating to this and it's the sheer amount of banned accounts for doing that exact thing... it's around 80k at this point with most being spammed accounts and majority of them come from China or at least say they're located there since a bunch of groups have been known to use vpns and connect to china before all hopping off it simultaneously to get in the same lobby... Thankfully Activision are ACTUALLY doing something for once and know of this problem and are clearly working on it

@@Deathmare235 DMZ has a PvP component. I'll fire on players if they present a threat. If you can't get it through your skull that there'll be PvP in DMZ, stick to playing TDM, noob.
@@Deathmare235The obj is still to kill ppl, it’s both kills and missions not just one over the other, plus it’s more rewarding killing ppl in DMZ, and there’s also more risk that’s why so many ppl like to hunt. If you don’t like being shot and and killed in a MULTIPLAYER game, then go play an RPG.

Love you streaming your thinking. Folks have so many different play styles it’s great to hear yours. I play solo and won’t the engage unless a run in happens or they shoot first. Then I’ll still run unless they hunt me or if it’s clear only one can survive. Keep grinding.

Solo DMZ is incredibly difficult. I tried it today and man I was sweating after the first game
Yeah, people should give solos a bit more respect and leave them alone unless they start shooting at you. It not easy being a solo player and I don't want to run with a team that shoots at absolutely everything.
A someone who is a terrible sniper, I love Vondel. And I generally find the players are more civil in Vondel. Much more likely to get picked up if downed. Easier to regain.

As someone who plays solo 90% of the time and someone who is not great in gunfights with multiple players I find that I actively try to avoid other players and only engage when there is no other option. It is generally a very different experience when in a team that can back you up.
I genuinely really enjoy the solo experience tho. That being said Ashika island sucks for solos due to PvP and Vondel is about surviving cracked out pve still better than Ashika tho.
I do like the fact that season 4 encourages to go to all the maps more, especially to unlock upgrades by killing bosses.
I do feel season 4 has made it less casual friendly because of the unlocks tho.
I think Assimilation should only be allowed on AM but with restrictions the more players that are in the platoon but give that they have not fixed many of the major bugs it is unlikely this would ever be implemented.

Ashika is basically unplayable now, 6 man teams coming in with 100k buying all the kill streaks and hunting the map. Out of my last like 15 games i maybe extracted twice
I only extracted once out of 3 Ashika runs. That's why I play Al Mazrah and Vondel only.
Id be real happy if they ever removed assimilation, and just gave us solo, duo and trio playlists. And maybe leave one large team playlist so all the zerglings can hunt each other there.
I love the intensity in solo playing. Esp missions which can be done solo
I’m gonna put this here also. A way to balance the assimilation (pre assimilation) i really believe is this. If you become larger than 3. You cannot revive dead players. As a solo, this might not help a bunch but if you manage to kill 2 or 3 in a 5 man it becomes a 1 v 2. They cannot revive.
Remove hunt squads as their option. So they don’t have permanent knowing of other presence around them. And make them the hunted.
Lastly remove TURRETS entirely and disallow assimilated teams to use a helo so they can’t fight from above.
This could actually bring balance. Especially if it’s 3 v 6. If you down 3 it’s suddenly 3 v 3 and I swear TEAMS ASSIMILATE for a very specific reason and when numbers are dropped the reason reveals!
Something really wholesome about Westie going solo
I’ve found that I prefer DMZ missions when I’m doing it solo. I have an objective and I don’t have to compete for different objectives with others. It’s hard but very rewarding
For the first time last week I joined a game with randoms, they got to the chopper in south Sa'id, picked me up then marked one of the ammo caches below Police Academy, I spotted players on the roof, marked them and started taking shots, then a team mate comes onto comms and says stop shooting the friendly team. Then all they wanted to do was hunt squads with LTV's and the heli. They really need to add some clever matchmaking to stop you from entering lobbies with friends unless they are in your party.
And this whole cancelling plea nonsense needs to go and just allow looting and let you plea for as long as the game lasts. Maybe with the wallet system, there should be a feature when you are down and out, to make a cash offer to incentivise a squad to pick you up. But even that could be abused by men just to camp your body and wait for more operators to take the bait. And not particularly useful that all your gear despawns after 5 minutes on the ground. There is definitely a lot of work they need to do surrounding assimilation and the start of your video clearly highlights this issue
1 week ago I had the strangest encounter of my DMZ life. Sitting on Aceton in my bag I only aim is to extract savely. My random buddies killed and assimilated, one of that team has their dogtags and I see them where they are. I go for that Exfil between Al Sharim and police station when the dog tag is coming near. I hide near a bridge when a UAV goes up. Counting to 30 in my mind I run towards police station and end up in that building far behind it next to the main police station. A chopper comes, flies by, goes that exfil, kills the dogtag. Comes straight to me, lands on that building where I hide in since 5 mins, 6 people storm in the door, kill me. I hear only one clicking of taking something, the others don't even look at my loot. They fly away to next exfil. Chinese names... It felt like I was cheated.
It was "All ai to vondel" night last night. Was ridiculous

I just started playing this game mode a couple of days ago. Still getting used to it, but I like it so far.
I soloed in waiting for friends to finish a raid. I ended up knocking out three missions and exfilling. Definitely rewarding but extremely frustrating when a three or the dreaded six man roles up and destroys you.
I am in that predicament every day and it sucks! GG
Do you run the high velocity or the explosive on your sniper? Seems like great hits from Sharim pass. Always at odds with what to use.
12:43 start moving really slowly when you get this call out unless you have a stealth vest if you move slowly and stand still in places they will think you are a bot as players usually look for the fast moving pings from the advanced UAV
Always wonder why you and stod don't bring in a spotter scope with the amount of long distance sniping you both do. Bring it in and stow it, stims are everywhere and easy to find. Just a thought

Managed to get to 10 exfil streak as solo, even got ghost as a perk. Now I obviously cannot use that character again as I don't want to loose them. Haha.
I have one Operator at a 10 exfil streak and I never use them now 😂
At the start of the video, I've been through that before and its usually Chinese teams. They queue up at same time and meet up right away and chase everyone up in the server. That's what is pissing me off at this point. They get away with too much

Westie I just commented on on1cs video but it would be funny to see you guys do a hostage rescue and just hide in a building and see if people will camp inside you hostage rescue chopper. You could have one with the hostage or store him in a building and see if they are honest or scummy. Idea came to me cause the last couple days I’ve been ambushed multiple times just trying to get out safely. Seems like a job for the DMZ police.
That's the reason why I don't play solo. its almost no chance to extract or win a fight unless you get at least one from behind :)
For your solo runs. Load in with a spotter scope and pick up stims. It’ll change the game not looking over with a glint.

That first game happened to me, spawned at oasis, under 2 mins a 5 man in an LTV came over and got us. That’s in, assimilate, LTV drop and to Oasis right to us! No UAV either!!!

I was solo extracting from that same extraction point and i had to fight those bots i hate that area the only reason i went there is because i thought no other players would go there to extract but as i was leaving a two man team rocked up i think they was trying to hunt me down to late for them
2out 3 random squad raids today have seen 2 of my squad immediately go and join other squads.
Solo for the average at best player is a nightmare as we’ve got to the part of the season where everyone has got the third weapon slot so they’re only interested in PVP.

When I solo into Ashika, I'm instantly attacked by teams. Pisses me off so much.
Recently I am constantly getting mugged as a solo player, not even on a kill contract. Shout friendly solo and they run and gun you down as fast as possible, even when you say you don't have anything, and to top it off they don't even revive you. I've managed to take down a few of these blood thirsty teams, but cut the solos some slack guys, we just want to get our missions done without being in a team who blast everything that moves and most of us go out of our way to avoid other teams.
If you see a solo give them some respect and leave them to do their thing as long as they're not shooting at you.
If you want to hunt solos go in as a solo!

Lol I’ve been having insane solos recently. I streamed one last night that was a crazy extraction.
“If you are solo shoot their tires it slows them down for about 6 seconds” Yes it slows them down but they can just repair the tire no gas station required, it only takes a second to repair the tire.
Seemed like you could have exfilled still if you stayed on the chopper.

The 6 man's teams are just getting redickulassss every round now we get hunted or just whipped by a 5+ team that call you shit for being out numbered.
