Nice collection of Skinny Puppy releases! I own all of the albums from Remission to Too Dark Park except for Cleanse Fold and Manipulate. I also own Dig It, Stairs and Flowers, Censor, Tin Omen, and Testure (on transparent red) 12" singles. Of course, they sound amazing on that format.

The spider on Weapon is made out of... er... weapons... it’s a neat observation about the spider legs on TDP but those legs are obviously not bayonets (or whatever they are on Weapon). I have a great Weapon shirt from that tour that I love. It’s just the album artwork but at that size you can really see the detail in the spider and all its components like the tanks, mines, rifles etc.

Mythmaker does have a German edition on a cool orange/brownish wax that includes another record with 3 remixes/extended versions.
One is Politikil which takes all of side one and plays at 45rpm. That sounds phenomenal!!
I have the complete wax collection including promos and bootlegs. Just slightly a fan. LoL

Last Rights, my favorite album to sleep to back in the early 90s. Couple tracks would wake you up, like freaking out wtf is going on ahhhhh it created some crazy ass dreams.

Thank you for making this video.
My copy of Rabies on cd is supper quiet! Easily the quietest album that I own.

The reason track 10 was omitted from the initial pressing of Last Rites was because they couldn't get the rights to some samples used in the song. There is a note inside the sleeve that asks the question, "Where is track 10?", or something like that.
I have the initial pressings of both Rabies and Last Rites still. I didn't buy the remastered versions until years after they first came out, and the difference was phenomenal. Not only were the tracks messed up on Last Rites, but it was also mastered at an improper volume (WAY too loud with massive clipping). The original Rabies was flat and low, as you said.
You should have mentioned that the CD of Too Dark Park's insert folded out into a poster size artwork.

"Left Handshake" ended up on a couple European comps and bootlegs, so it's not lost forever. Three different versions of it exist to my knowledge.. I might've shown the fold-out artwork in my Mosh Pit and the Pendulum review of it, can't remember.

Yeah I suspect the people who did the remastering was a total noob and one day I hope we get the name of the person who did that.

    im 3 years late but:
Remission: The Bonus tracks are mostly outtakes from the Bites session, which really dont fit on the EP, choose the original LP.
Bites: Basically, there were bonus tracks on the CD and Cassette release that were written for opening a Chris & Cosey Show, the EU Vinyl replaces Tracks from the original with these. If you want the Bonus Tracks, get the CD. Though I feel they interrupt the flow, so id advise getting it on Vinyl.
Mind The Perpetual Intercourse: The Canadian OG Press ends in an endless loop, which is not possible on CD. Also the original version of Dig It fits better in the tracklist.
VIVIsectVI: Get the CD if you want the Bonus Tracks (Yes He Ran, Punk In Park's Zoo, Funguss), else it doesnt matter
Rabies: Cant judge how "bad" the og press is, gotta see myself.
Too Dark Park: If you want the full cover, get the Vinyl or a Tour Poster, else get the CD, though (this might be confirmation Bias), the Vinyl sounds better
Also, to me Weapon is their worst reunion Album

I agree about the Rabies CD, remaster is best! And I do have the Last Rights Remaster. That version is mind-blowing, just otherworldly--it is wrong to have something so cool to be that rare.

The original Canadian vinyl of Bites often has flipped labels (I have two copies and both do), and an incorrect track listing on the back (Film is listed on the wrong side). Great video!

Go on Metropolis to find it, only cost me $25. People on Discogs will charge the hell out of them, but I preordered mine from Metropolis and a bunch of people are getting theirs early.. People said the colored vinyl for Mythmaker sounded terrible but my black vinyl sounds fine.

    • @imjustsomeguy4471

If I had known that weapon was being repressed on black I would have gotten that instead. I got excited seeing that it was getting repressed I bought the red variant without looking around. It's a shame, I'm tired of red vinyl, everyone is making colored vinyl now, and it seems like red is always the common choice.

    • @KillbotAndGorGorAttack
      @KillbotAndGorGorAttack  8 років тому

Plenty of interested people out there, you could still sell for as much as you paid and get the black :) when I told the guy on the phone I wanted black, he responded "audiophile, eh?" I just don't think colored vinyl sounds as good to my ears as black vinyl. Nuclear Blast mostly does colored vinyl and while it does sound better now than it did, it just doesn't beat the mostly noiseless traditional color. Looks for vinyl is good if you're that type of person, but for me the sound quality should come first.

  • @cooptrol

When I got the Last Rights CD in the 90s, I thought the music was like that. SP is so experimental that it took me years to realize it was a press fail hahaha!! Didn't happen with Taylor Swift though... har har

They've just released Vinyl reissues for Mind and Cleanse Fold & Manipulate. They're surprisingly good; the best part is that the Mind reissue has the 6-minute version of Dig It (I was worried that they would just slap the 7-minute one on there instead).

Didn't u notice that the problem on Last Rights and being numbered from 1-11 w 10 missing is on purpose. Track 10 was supposed to be left hand shake, but they were not allowed to release it due to the Leary samples. Its funny too, when u play the cd it goes from track 9,directly to 11. So that wasn't a mistake

@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack I kind of dig this track's "jam band" madness and Ogre's stream-of-consciousness verbal outbursts, even if its all a 15+ minute mess.

Major screw up not mentioned on the remix dystemper album from 1998.
Some of the first few CD pressings came with opera or gospel & no skinny puppy due to pressing plant issues.
I ended up with 2, they let me return the first copy & got another one like that... wish I had kept it

    • @KillbotAndGorGorAttack

Puppy’s always had pressing problems. Had to get another “Ain’t It Dead Yet” dvd because the first one I bought was missing the intro. Nettwerk could fuck up a cup of coffee.

original nettwerk canadian version track list of bites (vinyl) is best. otherwise the cd is a monster as far as amount of songs.
btw, the LP versions of both "assimilate" and "the choke" are far superior.

    • @eightcoins4401
      @eightcoins4401 4 роки тому

The CD has the same versions of these songs, unless you get the Remission & Bites CD (literally called that) which replaces both with the 12'' mixes. Also yeah, the bonus tracks on Bites break the Album.
