  • Today I bought an MPPT controller from china. It has maximum current of 45A, maximum output voltage is 60V. Input voltage range from 22V to 180V. It is quite cheap compared to other products. I'll disassemble it and show you what's inside. This MPPT controller is also easy to repair, The most difficult is the STM32 microcontroller, because we don't have the program code, most of the components are replaceable.

    What controller or controllers would you recommend to run 3x 370W LG panels (40V)? 1110W I bought the OOYCYOO 100A as it seems to fit the specs and the EPEver to compare but the size of EPEver is insane. Thanks.

    This circuit seems to be much more robust than many ive bought, better protection, one thing that seems strange is that there are several buck converters high to low in several steps isnt there rreally a better way to do this, efficiency wise ?

      Chinese have made tons of dedicated and cheap modules that can be attached to the main PCB for easy application! In stead of designing and putting parts to power MCU, they just use a ready made that can be found easily!

    “HIGH VOLTAGE rating on input might be misunderstood. I THINK configuring 41V (or other) PV in parallel for 29.5V charging threshold offers an advantage for lighting protection devices & ruggedness. MY PROTECTION devices should be rated to conduct at about 80V. YOURS MIGHT be rated for much higher voltage. I USE 100A AL service wire to conduct maximum, 80A midday current but batteries drop to 5A each by late morning. SO... I don’t see much wrong with PWM, comparing it with MPPT. IT WORKS & it’s quiet. FAN ALMOST never kicks in & heat sink is barely warm. THIS YEAR, I found batteries that do not ‘gas’ hydrogen & according to product data, might last 6000 cycles if depth-of-discharge is kept to 5%. WINTER NIGHTS here are 16-hours, so am researching a ‘free-conversion’ augmentation device that could run until 10-pm on cloudy, winter evenings.”

    I've been keen on your good videos that are very educational but it's surprising that you never use any of these things you make. You have good homemade inverters, charge controllers and many other stuff but never seen you use them after posting them. My question is do they really work or it just a matter of keeping your channel active.

      Nguyên lý chung của nó là mạch buck thôi, nhưng nó dò điểm điện áp của tấm PV mà có công suất lớn nhất. Cái này nếu bạn đọc đc code thì hiểu ngay thôi. Ko thì đọc trên google chứ mình cũng ko biết giải thích thế nào đâu :))

      à, Mình tháo con cảm biến gắn vô cuộn cảm nên nó báo nhiệt độ cao đấy. Cuộn cảm nó nóng hơn nhôm nên gắn cảm biến vô cuộn cảm để quạt thổi cho mát.

    What’s the difference between that and an adjustable , current limiting buck converter? What makes it MPPT? All you showed us was and adjustment of the voltage output and the current limit. I thought the idea of MPPT was to use feedback from current and voltage sensors to adjust the output voltage snd current in real time to optimize battery charging. The charging profile should depend on the type of battery you’re using. Does this device do that?

      This is very much depending on the program in the MCU, it seems that the device was a quick making product (almost any engineer in China can grab a software, a board and start producing things).

    mppt scc are actually just a buck converter with programmable parameters, sometimes in buck boost, mppt is just a fancy name

      Apart from buck regulation they also track the maximum power point. Without that feature the yield from Solar will not be optimised.

      MPPT is not just a "fancy name", unless you're talking about fake labels on some controllers.

      It’s a lot more than that. There’s an algorithm required to implement MPPT, requiring a controller and several key measurements. It’s not just a steady charger with cutoffs.

      @@bimmerboard Exactly. And the simplest form of MPPT is merely voltage tracking of the solar panel's output to keep it around its VMPP, combined with an impedance transformer such as a buck converter.

      Chắc ko có đâu, áp cao ngta chơi hòa lưới hết rồi, áp thấp, hệ nhỏ để sạc bình thôi.

    Your solar panels are not at the right tilt angle. This would highly affect the charge efficiency and performance.
