it killed me that they both used meat in their dishes! These dishes could've been a perfect opportunity for a cool vegan or vegetarian recipe- if I was competing in this I would freak and jump straight to tofu scramble without hesitation.

Tofu is used as a meat/egg substitute only in the West, but in South Asia, dishes that contain tofu also have beef, seafood, etc. in them.
