    This is SO CONFUSING!!! I’ve messed it up 3 times and am ready to just throw it away. The fifth collection is sample #2. 🤦‍♀️

    When you say avoid coffee, do you mean NO COFFEE? Silly but important question for a coffee lover

    • @bublysoda
      @bublysoda Рік тому +3

      Yep definitely no coffee/caffeine. I think it messes with the true cortisol levels that are analyzed and reported.

      this also means no decaf coffee??

      @@danielagentile8049Yes, because other chemicals other than the caffeine in coffee can effect the body. Plus decaf is rarely truly caffeine-free.

    FFS just demonstrate how to do each test. The instructions in the package is all over the place.

    I think this video is obsolete. The instructions I received with the test are similar to what this video says, but different in some key respects (the foods to avoid during the collection period and the liquids restriction, for example). I'm going to go with what the manual says that I received with the test. Precision Analytical, can you weigh in on this?

    • @bublysoda
      @bublysoda Рік тому +2

      Definitely go with the manual, it's more in-depth imo. If in doubt, call the company, they will provide the most up-to-date info.

    Do you have to take the dinnertime test at 4 or 5pm or when you would normally sit down for dinner? For me it's usually between 7-7:30pm. My work day ends at 5pm but I don't get home until 6pm.
    I also didn't realize you're not supposed to drink any water 2 hours prior to the dinnertime/evening tests so I have to skip it today and plan on doing this portion tomorrow (although I did my morning tests today).
    I hope this doesn't mess it up or I have to wait another month to retest. I was running so many errands I didn't keep track. And I don't want to do the test sloppily since it's a pretty penny! Thank you!

    • @bublysoda
      @bublysoda Рік тому +1

      @@jacquelinemurfitt3455 Yes it is. The sequence of events matters. It's best to do the test sequence in the exact order. I had to redo the test because I started with the morning instead of the 5pm start (if I recall correctly). They would have still processed it but I would have missed out on an element of the hormone analysis that I really wanted to understand. I think it was the overnight bathroom trip that would have been nullified based on how I sequenced the tests which was not in the order they had it. I hope that helps you avoid having to retest since it's a real pain having to avoid coffee/caffeine, vitamins/supplements, and being super mindful and constrained on water intake and pee trips LOL.

    This video really needs updating. Show an example of how someone should be doing the testing and when, using examples with actual people and items like a cup of coffee or getting out of bed. This video relies too heavily on charts and someone reading the directions. I've read the directions, so this isn't helpful.
    Irregular periods are WAY more extreme than the examples given! +/- 5 to 7 days would be a dream for most women. The women using this kit likely only get a period every 3-18 months so the instructions are useless for the majority 🤦‍♀️. It fully assumes the women are ovulating at all. What are menopausal or post-menopausal women supposed to do?
    In addition, over half of women have several hormone cycles and eggs maturing at different rates overlapping with each other and that also affects hormone levels, especially in cases of severe PCOS. A woman needs to do a video on how women should take the DUTCH tests.

    Hi there. Do you take it when you wake or when you get of bed? I often wake around 4am but don't get up until a lot later. So a hit confused there.

    • @bublysoda
      @bublysoda Рік тому

      There is an overnight urine test that can be used for that 4am trip, then when you wake-up wake-up you should use the one intended for starting the day (IMO but call the company - they'll be able to tell you).

    Sir, I received my DUTCH complete today. I'm not sure what day to start the test since I haven't had a period in 3 years due to my IUD. Is my IUD going to mess up my results?

    • @PrecisionAnalytical
      @PrecisionAnalytical  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Haley, thank you for reaching out. For the purposes of proper DUTCH testing, tracking your cycle is helpful. Since you have an irregular cycle, you can test for ovulation using an ovulation predictor kit, which can be purchased online, at a pharmacy or even grocery store. They tend to look like pregnancy tests, however, these specifically test for the presence of the luteinizing hormone, known as LH, which can help you better determine ovulation.
      Urinate on one ovulation predictor test strip in the morning every morning until you see a positive result. That positive result indicates you are likely to ovulate soon. You can then stop using the ovulation predictor kit test and count forward five to seven days from the day of the positive test to know the day to begin collecting your samples for the DUTCH test.
      In regards to your IUD, DUTCH testing does not show the level of synthetic hormones in the contraceptive, it only shows the natural hormones made by the body. The DUTCH test does cover many other hormones, such as androgens and adrenal hormones, therefore, some patient situations may still benefit from running a full DUTCH test panel if they are on hormonal contraceptives.
      An IUD or Coil containing progestin may suppress progesterone and ovulation, but not always, depending on the woman. Therefore, testing with the progestin IUD might show more individual variation in progesterone and estrogen levels.
      The copper IUD does not affect DUTCH testing results.
