I have an '06 with the Hemi and Quadra-Drive II, climbed Engineer Mountain and Cinnamon Mountain in the Colorado San Juans, they are outstanding 4x4s, I was running with heavily modified trailered-in rigs in my stock Jeep.
Yes it does have the Quadradrive 2 diffs. QD2 is different to the previous QD. They are made by a different company to the first QD. Eaton makes them and calls them eGerodisc ELSD's. They work very fast when detecting slippage and achieve 100% lock and that's why people refer to them as lockers.
Thanks mate. Get a HEMI instead, you won't regret it. Never had any major issues with it and gets thrashed :) Mine's a QD2 version, so it gets the factory locking diffs.
Love the WH. I’m picking up an absolute beautiful WK 5.7 HEMI on Wednesday. 100% bog stock (not even a tow bar or nudge bar), with 69000 on the clock. Never been offroad, no kids and running continental highway tyres and always garaged. Very excited. My father has the exact same model, 100% bog stock running the 3 litre TD. He also runs a new WK TD. Planning on hitting all our favourite trails together around the blue mountains, dingo dell, Lithgow, Abercrombie, bendethera and a heap more. I’ve been 4wding for a lot of years from plenty of stock set ups to old shorties runnin 38 swampers back when porters Rd used to be open in early 2000, but appreciate the challenge of stock vehicles now. I’ll put a set of stock size muddies on her and see how far I can push her safely whilst enjoying the great outdoors and camping. My father runs the 697LT all terrains in the stock size on his Jeep WH Diesel. They are a tough tyre! I should actually run the same as a true challenge between the two. Actually I will, I put him onto those tyres. We will destroy those tyres in 20000km down to the canvas before they puncture at work - no other tyre we’ve run can do that, they are rediculously strong so will run em too and the challenge between the WH HEMI amd diesel will be on again💪💪 Love your videos, have watched many over the years as well as my father. Happy wheeling
Mate 😍 Thank you for sharing, loved it! We should organise a trip with just WH's and another one with just Grand Cherokees all models. Lemme know if you're interested.
Aussie Four Wheelers yeah would be great. I currently do fly in fly out from Sydney to Port Hedland (NW WA). I’ve been over in WA since the start of the pandemic. I bought the vehicle in Perth and flew down last Wednesday to pick it up - and arrived in Port Hedland last night. Was an awesome run via Coral Bay and got to open her up. I’m ringing around today to price shipping it back to Sydney in around 6 weeks time, I’m hoping to be out of here by then. I’ve got a question you may know the answer to - do all quadradrive II run the electronic LSDs or can you have quadradrive II running no LSDs? I know mine is running the LSDs from the 12 bolt rear and the quadradrive II badge below the shifter. Cheers
Hi Musa, I’m still in WA (Port Hedland). Have been away for 7 months now and hoping to get home in 4 weeks. Has been a long time away from wife and kids but at least I have a job so I’m thankful for that. Just a question about your exhaust if possible. Have you just replaced the big muffler under the passenger seat with the Lukey and left the smaller muffler at the back stock? Also have you ever had a problem with the engine light coming on after putting a new muffler on? Cheers mate
Thanks buddy. The rock rails/sliders are custom made. The sliders are from 1"9/16 SHS and the rails are 1"1/4 NB mild steel with a thicknes of 1/8, so very strong.
Great example of the Quadra-Trac II ! Iv got a 2008 wh/wk 5.7 grand cherokee also, 3" lift, 32 1/2" tyres, snorkle , ad strait exhaust, custom bash plate front end, I have no vids up yet but just got two go-pro's ! Go the jeeps!!!
LOVE my 04 Grand Cherokee with 4.7L V8. Takes me anywhere I want to go. Have a video on here of me even crossing a creek to where I go hunting and target shooting a lot.
Another great video from down under. My brother just bought a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. But I think they put the steering wheel on the wrong side! LOL! Great video guys!
:) Thanks mate. You know how we were talking about the CV's on it? You can hear it at 1:46 and slightly also at 2:46. We'll see how the new ones go on the next run ;).
It's got factory Eaton eGerodisc lockers front and rear. Check this one out (another friend of mine: h t t p:// w w w .youtube .com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=N09Za2ClAzs (copy & paste in browser & remove spaces).
I had a look, awesome Jeep mate. Yeah, I was gonna say it's QD2 as well as I saw the badge behind the shifter on your interior pic. QT2 didn't have a badge there on these models.
Aussie Four Wheelers (Hemi4WD) nice video mate, you really forget how well some vehicles can handle tough tracks really well with not many mods at all! You might be interested in my channel as its all off roading as well. Anyways nice videos mate
Looking forward to your videos. What tyre are you running? I just upgraded to Bighorns. Mine's Quadra-Drive II (12-bolt rear diff cover). QTII is 10-bolt.
Totally impressed by these things, particularly the 4wd system. My mate has just bought the same as what you have and it did everything so easily stock compared to my 100 series Sahara. He wants to put a 2" lift in but his mechanic reckons they do CVs. Any problems to be aware of? Thanks.
Sergio López Yes of course, just waiting on some suspension parts, gonna go even bigger. It's sagged so much now that it's at stock ride height lol. 9 years old and wheeling, what do you expect.
inthink the only diff between this jeep and mine are that mine isnt a hemi, and the steering wheel is on the wrong side. its nice to see the capabilities, i havent done any of this with mine but i have driven thru a bunch of sand. in this video it looked like at one point the jeep was having a little trouble but i think with better tread it wouldnt have been an issue.
i was also afraid that the engine block would crack when it hit the water. good to know it wont. i did it to a pos sentra about 20 years ago, been afraid ever since lol
You're right, the tyres were crap. After that I went to 31" mud terrain, then stepped up again to 33s 😊 Have a look at some newer videos of it. Just a small correction, _"the steering wheel is on the _*_right_*_ side"_ 😉
This is easy driving for a Jeep, but does the cameraman have a death wish? Those are some great pictures though. That GC could be my Jeep if the steering wheel weren't mounted on the wrong side. LOL!! Everything else is identical down to the color and ring in the receiver. That looks like lots of fun!
+Aussie Four Wheelers (Hemi4WD) Does your government grab all the land then make you guys buy a license or permit to use the land? I live in Arizona, USA, and it's getting harder and harder to find places to go. The forest service has closed most of the places I used to go. Now you have to buy a "Parking Permit" to go into a national forest. It's a big racket. I'm glad to hear no videographers were squashed in the making of your video. LOL!! It sure looked like he was going to get it in a couple shots. Happy 4 Wheeling Mate!!
LOL, thanks mate. Over here, depends. Most National Parks that need a permit are usually suitable for 2WD vehicles. Other places are open, but I speak for NSW. Other states might vary, for example, QLD has no free parks for wheeling close to the capital, except sections of Glass House Mountains.
Great Video and great ride. Is there any kind of diff locking system on that WK? original? aftermarket? ARB maybe? It goes really well even when only 2 tires are in contac with the road. Peace.
Water crossing was sketchy part, u were going a tad fast through it, would suck to suck water up into the intake. got to go nice and slow not to create a wake lol
Hi mate, beautiful Jeep you got. I'm looking to buy one, what sort of km's is a good number to buy? Under 300 under 200kms? I haven't owned a jeep and now im in love but don't have much knowledge. Cheers budds.
Hey mate 👋 thanks for asking and glad you like it. What year model are you looking at? I got a diesel one that's over 200km. My HEMI that's under that needed some serious maintenance done to it, like exhaust leak (studs and gaskets), Welch plugs replaced (big job), valve cover gaskets, radiator, water pump... So obviously when you're getting an older vehicle, you gotta think of these things and be prepared to change them if need be.
So with the sliders... I see from reading you made them... I am about to do the same ... Did you remove the plastic below the doors or mount them under that and to the pinch weld... I've see some wjs that cut out the rocker below the doors .. did you ??? Thanks
Aussie Four Wheelers cool .. thanks .. I'm building my own soon and have seen many different ways .. hk off-road cuts the rocker out on the wj but doesn't use the pinch weld but part of the cut out metal from what they cut out ... Gets more clearance and they seem strong as hell... Thanks again..
Those tyres look like the good year AT/SA silent armor. Just got a set for mine in a 245/75/17 What should the stock height be from floor to wheel arch? I get the feeling mine has decided to lower itself OoIIIIIIIoO
Great truck and its pretty much stock standard isn't it. has it got factory e lockers front & rear, or rear only & great traction control up front? I guess the only thing that let's it down is the ifs. But it looks pretty bloody capable. Thanks for the vid
I like your videos but the youtube video stabilization feature makes give me a headache after a few minutes - probably would be better if u turned it off.
Just check for the usual wear and tear, leaks, etc. Best is to plug a scanner and scan it for codes and see if anything comes up. Obviously a test drive and try the low range as there were issues with actuators with flash updates.
Is this Jeep for real! I can't wait until Tuesday when I take delivery of my01. I've been a Landrover man for years but the reliability has let me down heaps and always am worried on what tracks to take it on for fear of getting stuck...but this Jeep is a weapon! Is it completely standard.
Look, yeah :D Thanks ;) This Jeep has been really good to me. In this video, it has 2" lift, 275/65R17 AT (not so good) tyres along with 6km underbody protection and rock sliders. Check out some of the newer videos with this Jeep in it with 265/70R17 MT tyres. Now it runs 5" lift and 285/70R17 MT tyres but haven't done any videos yet... soon.
Best all around suv... on my 3rd one first on was a 98 and it was hit by a 18 wheeler.second was a 02 and I traded it in a 222000 miles for the 2007 wk with a 5.7.... love them all
Honestly, they perform alright, but won't handle some of the areas I go in my old-school XJ; flex is not overrated. Considering the mild tires this Grand has, I feel it did pretty good, in IMHO. People can hate all they want, but the proof is in the pudding.
Impressive-- i have a 96 ZJ 5.2 - does that have limited slip front diff.?? Seems like both front wheels are always grabbing or if only 1 then the tire that is in contact
Aussie Four Wheelers (Hemi4WD) that's what I thought--I have rear LSD with a Dana 44-A but front is open diff. that quadra drive is amazing-- I was looking at a used Overland with a HEMI but not sure if I want to spend 30 grand?
Nice video!!!, what lift kit are you using?? I got mine with stock suspension but is too low for the sand dunes here!, always breaking the rear bumper!!!
This guy is one hell of a driver. Very impressed.
Shane Wickline Thanks dude ;)
I have an '06 with the Hemi and Quadra-Drive II, climbed Engineer Mountain and Cinnamon Mountain in the Colorado San Juans, they are outstanding 4x4s, I was running with heavily modified trailered-in rigs in my stock Jeep.
Looking forward to heading back to the sangre de cristos with mine.
But that’s a different spec
using this for inspiration as I put ball joints an wheel bearings in my '94 grand Cherokee. bring on the snow!
This guy knows how to drive. Im impressed. Keep up the good work, mate. Just got a WK myself and plan on a 2" lift with some slightly larger tires.

Even better on the QD2.
Thanks mate. Get a HEMI instead, you won't regret it. Never had any major issues with it and gets thrashed :) Mine's a QD2 version, so it gets the factory locking diffs.
looks like fun and you can drive it to work on Monday
Yeah, a lot of fun. Thanks 👍
Thanks for the feedback. I enjoy my Grand Cherokee.
Thanks mate! The Jeep had AT's but they were worn out. They were also larger than stock ones, 31". Now I have MT's on it.
nice rig man, don't let the haters hate on the Jeep they just jealous
:) :) :) Thanks man ;)

That's bloody awesome mate 👍 Yes, all QD2 run ELSD's. QuadraTrac 2 are open diffs with traction control and ELSD center diff.
Aussie Four Wheelers awesome - thanks for the reply🤘🤘🤘much appreciated

probably the best advertisement for one...
Wow thank you 👍
Custom made, made them myself, tougher than retail ones. I've used 40x40 SHS, 32mm NB pipe with 3 support arm and 3 brace brackets on each arm.
Sounds awesome:) at 3:40 if you close your eyes it sounds like a Top Fueler :D
4:35 "STOP" LOL
ProducedByAli 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Buddy was like wtf
I really want one of these for a daily, camping trip rig/overland off road stuff, and it can trail my miata to the racetrack 😁
Great vehicle! Also tows great.
Nice lookin' Jeep! Sounds great, too. I've got a WK2. Bone stock, but I love it.
I'm using Daystar 2" with a bit of modification to it and 31" MT tyres now. Those in the video were 30.5" AT's.
Another great video from down under. My brother just bought a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. But I think they put the steering wheel on the wrong side! LOL! Great video guys!
Thanks again mate!
This guy is kicking the shit out of that accelerator pedal.
This guy liked the sound of it.

Still going strong dude. BTW, materialistic things have no feelings.

Awesome vid!! Great to see the WH in action!
That was actually pretty impressive, I just bought one with the crd
Enjoy it 👍 Is it Quadra-Trac 2 or Quadra-Drive 2?
@@AussieFourWheelers it's the quadra drive 2. What's the difference?
That's great 👍 The difference is QT2 uses ABS braking for traction whereas QD2 has LSD's which can lock up 100%.
@@AussieFourWheelers right on, thank you
@@AussieFourWheelers how do you which vehicle had QT2 versus QD2?
This was at Mt Walker ~150km west of Sydney.
Good onya mate! I just watched your video doing it! WOOOW!!!
most likely the best cost Vs return in fun ratio...
great car..
Those are rock sliders, they're made to be high clearance and to provide protection for the rocker panel if the Jeep lands on a rock

Should be a Jeep promo video.
HEHEHE 👍👍👍
I got an older version of one. Use it for towing. Fuckin' love it!
Mighty alright! Love the ROAR

That looks like sooooooo much freakin fun!

Glad you liked it 👍👍

this is very good
Thank you very much 👍 Glad you liked it.
It's always so much harder than it looks in the video. he just needs better tires!
eri k wilson, tyres !!! Wot are they then ?
Thanks mate ;)
You better believe it! I went places in mine (Colorado) that old timers said you're going there in THAT?? lol
Fun stuff. Thanks for posting. I wonder how my 4.7 would handle under this kind of testing???

Yeah, those were Maxxis 275/65/17. Then I replaced them with 265/70/17 Bighorns. I'm running a 2 inch lift ATM but going higher very soon.
Maybe some of you guys can help me...got a G.C. limited 5.7 stock...245/65/17....will 245/75/17 for without a lift?
Should fit.
Do you think a jeep with the QTII system would be able to handle that terrain? Just wondering cuz i got a jeep commander with that setup.
Yes, it's got front and rear ELSD's that achieve 100% lock, known as Quadradrive 2.
Aussie Four Wheelers (Hemi4WD) that's what I thought--I have rear LSD with a Dana 44-A but front is open diff. that quadra drive is amazing-- I was looking at a used Overland with a HEMI but not sure if I want to spend 30 grand?
fucking impressive
Thanks 👍 Glad you liked it.
Nice video!!!, what lift kit are you using?? I got mine with stock suspension but is too low for the sand dunes here!, always breaking the rear bumper!!!
