Another lovely video, I feel I'm riding pillion with you. As a solo biker that I am, I can relate to you and Itchy boots on your travels. Thank you. John.
What a very enjoyable watch. Great scenery. Surprised just how much traffic there is up there. Chug just keeps on going. Seems perfectly suited for this sort of terrain and conditions.
Hello Sandy, what a wonderful tour. Thanks for the great impressions of the magnificent landscape. I think Chug was the right choice for this tour. I'm looking forward to your next video. Take care of yourself. Greetings from Germany Jürgen
Thank you for sharing this video, it brings back fond memories of driving through this beautiful landscape, even if it was in a hire car and not on my motrocycle.
That was a great trip, thoroughly enjoyed watching it. You appeared to be settling into a more sedate and relaxed pace and also looked very comfortable on Chug.
Lovely tour shame about the low clouds spoiling an otherwise grand views, I did the same tour 40 years ago on a vespa scooter!! Years later I discovered Europe and the Alps French, Austria, Switze, Italian,Truely awesome in every way, Breathtaking views snow topped mountains, Near empty roads, Great food, Camping sites second to none,Clean toilets showers (hot) drying rooms for wet gear, cafes come shops, 30 years later I have 5 thousand photos and countless memories to look back to!! St Bernard's pass, Where I met a group of American bikers who between them have travelled extensively all over north America and Canada said, St Bernard's pass is the best mountain pass in the world by far!!
Incredible footage Sandy! 4:21 was my favorite!! Glad the weather opened up a bit for you, enjoyed this very much! This journey is indeed one of your best, thank you 👍🙏
Another excellent series, I enjoyed all Scotland and all the Lake District. I voted fir the v strom, I don’t mind being proved wrong. You appeared to have enjoyed the whole adventure on chug, so you made the right choice for this journey. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to the next adventure what ever it may be. Regards, chris.
I dropped a tooth in front on mine, doesn’t change the gap to 2nd but it allows 2nd to be used in more places. For my use, there was no loss of speed on the top end....bike over geared for my typical load and environment. Thanks for the great rides Sandy!
Such a great series of videos Sandy. I am really it. You must be getting a little saddle sore by now from all of that riding that you have done the past few days. You have managed to cross all of the passes off your to do list and now maybe you will have some easier travelling. Now just sit back and enjoy the ride and the beautiful views. Ride safely and have lots of fun.
Another great upload sandy, loved the adventure from start to finish sounds like you have some more exciting plans before the years end can’t wait to see what your going to get up to ❤️👍 sending love to all the family ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks for sharing another interesting adventure, and wonderful scenery - the lake district dellights us whatever the weather, and as you say does not disappoint.
Lovely video, I was in Keswick last week but the town itself was very busy so I left after a short walk to the lake. The weather was really nice back end of last week!
I really enjoyed watching this because i like to see new places that i have not been before. I will place these spots listed here on to my long term list. Thank you for showing me an inspiring place to travel to.
Lovely video. Once again you are a step ahead of me, the Lakes are on my bucket list for 2021. Now I know what to expect... and I'm already looking forward to it.
You spoil us, Sandy. Amateur radio, wild camping, motorcycles and more. And this was amazing. I need to get the Serow up there. If Chug can do it surely Serow can.. Thanks mate, es 73, Les g0nmd
Wow! what beautiful country Sandy!. especially the one view where you said you wanted to go back with the other camera. that was breathtaking. My Biggest regret now, is that when I was stationed in Giessen, I did not take the time to see more of England. just few short hours in Southampton. (that was 60 yrs ago but still found memories of what I did see of Europe.) thanks again Sandy for another great adventure can't wait till the next one 73 till then de Ellis
Thanks Sandy, I have really enjoyed following your adventure through the passes of Lakeland. Some of these are new to me. I have some great memories of the Lakes even the day I got a real soaking on Scafell and it has been a pleasure to revisit the area courtesy of your excellent vids. Have safe trip home ,73
It was fun to virtually travel along with you. The landscape is so different than what I imagined for the Lake District. Silly me, imagining some low gentle rolling hills and lots of pretty lakes. It's gorgeous, reality is much better. No wonder Wordsworth and the boys got so inspired by it. And in turn, you're inspiring some of us to get out and do. Thanks for the videos.
Brilliant sandy , enjoyed every bit . These five passes are on my bucket list now !! I’ve got a route for a wales trip . Going green landing 👍🏼 now am jealous ✊🏼 ride safe ... Al
Really enjoyed that Sandy, interesting and well made video. I once went over Kirkstone to go camping in Langdale in November and it was nil visibility over Kirksone, i had to get out and walk in front of the car for a couple of miles. It was a bit scary. Take it easy 👍
Brilliant again Sandy. Really glad you did it on Chug. Im off to Devon/Cornwall next week and im very tempted to take Sarchu (my Himi) rather than my Crosstourer. Dilemma for me is im travelling with another big bike, if i were on my own it'd definatly be the R.E.
I fell in love with Patterdale when I was there, so beautiful...but then just about all of Cumbria is so stunning, a magical place. What a wonderful set of videos, thankyou...really did enjoy them all mate.
Hey up,great series of videos, really enjoyed them,I love the lakes,my bro lives there in Keswick,he works for the national trust,THE CHUGSTER(CHUG) is really cool as well, take care....
My God at 4:38 what a view. That's not of this world. Must be amazing to suddenly ride into that. I had some similar experiences in Norway. Still remember it as if it was yesterday. A moment of intense joy.
Very beautiful. I am not sure why you have not replaced those mirrors as yet. Second modification I made to our Himi Amos. The stock mirrors were great for viewing my elbows.
Thanks Noel, I think some of the roads in the lakes were busier than normal with many people not going abroad for holidays. I could be heading over the Channel perhaps next year. I hear the roads in France are very quiet
Brilliant Sandy excellent end to the month long bike adventures, I have really enjoyed them. But looking forward to the woodland camps. But really superb work , keep it up bud.
Great Vid Sandy, it could be Chug, but because you are travelling at senible motorcycle speeds the journey seems all the more enjoyable, well certainly from my view point. This is a great series which I will watch again after viewing the Coast to Coast for the third time. Thanks again.D
Nice one Sandy, thanks for taking us with you on such an epic trip, Chug doing great job. Rekon them REH are pretty amazing machine, very pleased with mine, they want a lot of beating especially at the price point. 73 OM ORA
Did the kirkstone pass on the Honda Grom. From windermere to Patterdale then Ambleside to Patterdale then reverse the routes. Got a big cheer from a group of Bikers that were stopped on the kirkstone pass locally known as the struggle.
Sorry I got the sun for Buttermere and Honister. Going down heading South on Kirkstone there are some long drops to the left. Video was pleasure to watch. ☺
Good evening Sandy. It's just gone 20:50 here and I've enjoyed another of your fine offerings. With the diverse weather and surface conditions you encounter, I'm interested in the tyres you have on your bikes. We have many brands over here and it's often a difficult choice. Opinions of other riders is valued before laying out the cash. Regards from S Africa Clive
@@WiltshireMan Thanks Sandy. Appreciate your coming back with the info. Enjoy your day. We've had some early rain on Saturday evening and temperatures are already above 25°C. Another hot Summer ahead I think. Stay Safe Regards from S Africa Clive
I Remember doing the Kirkstone pass in a Morris minor in the 80’s with limited brakes , I agree with you on the Himmy braking issue never had any worries with mine,
Another outstanding video ! on your go pro issue...i have four "go pro 3" cameras. i love them for what they are but I had the same "Freeze up" problem you did. research said that i needed a higher speed memory card. i spent the extra money and that solved the problem. Just put that out there incase you have not already tried it. Love your videos mate !
Top stuff Sandy......Wild camping in the Whinlatter area is recommended particularly in & around Hopegill Head/ Grisedale...not as popular as other parts of the Lakes..
Sandy, just subscribed to your channel and really enjoying your trips. I have an older go pro which I have rarely used, and after watching you I feel I should attach it to my helmet and record my up and coming NC500 trip just for my own use. Can you tell me what camera settings you use please?.
Hi Peter, I was using a Gopro hero7 black, it has inbuilt stabilization, very good. I think I was using gopro colour settings in linear mode. Your older gopro probably won't have those settings. Best advice I can give is do a youtube search for gopro settings as there are lots out there then try and see. I hope you have a great NC500 ride
You had been blessed with fine weather for the first few days so it was inevitable that you would get a bit of rain but it all adds to the adventure and hones your riding skills. Chug was the perfect bike for the trip and coped admirably with the inclines. How many miles did Chug cover by the time you arrived home?
Was only a few weeks ago we were riding those exact same roads, even stopping at the slate mine for coffee and cake. There is a sad story about the guy who reopened the mine and attraction Mark Weir, nearly a decade ago he crashed his helicopter leaving the mine losing his life. Think his wife carried the business on. Thanks for the vids.
The mighty "Chug" is a very capable steed indeed, hard to call where was the best scenery there or Schotland, but I am sure its Schotland as there is more there, but it looks stunning mate, thanks for taking us along.
Most likely a reason why such a big gap between 1st and second gear, 1st gear will be more of a slow climbing gear as it was in the way it climbed up the steeper parts of the journey. Heavy vehicles normally have a lower 1st gear for the same reason. Anyway enjoyed this video bro. Stay safe
Well they has encouraged me to get my Himy ready for some trips, pin on a map time again. Must admit the Lakes look awesome and it's been a long time, I think last visit I got excited about Peter Rabbit 🥰🐇

So much to see, so little time. Absolutely stunning scenery. Very happy I got to see this footage. Thanks for sharing. Tony.
