On step four of the planning process, which is choosing a schedule, you have lots and lots of options. The idea is to USE them. Don't be afraid to break of out the traditional schooling box and do something different that will meet the needs of your family. We talk about all the options here!
I'm in New Zealand so our school year starts in February and ends in mid December, so that's when we homeschool
I didn't think about an alternative month to start school. Here it's so hot during summer we are inside all day anyways.
We implemented the Sabbath schooling method this year (thanks in large part to one of your previous videos) and it was an absolute life saver!
New York is very particular.
First you muat File a notice of intent to homeschool within 14 days of beginning, and every year thereafter. Provide an Individualized Home Instruction plan to the District Superintendent. Note the subjects required to be taught at specific grade levels. Maintain attendance records.
Send quartet reports and complete 85% of your home plan.
You need 900 hours of school per year in grades 1-6, and 990 hours of school per year in grades 7-12.
End of the year testing every other year starting around 3rd grade. All that need to be sent in within a time frame workout with the District Superintendent.
Not required but we kept records, book samples, reports and made a portfolio every year. HSLDA recommend keeping such things for 2 years.
Hi! You refer to Dawn dropping links, but where are they?
This is a recording of a Facebook Live -- so the links were on Facebook.
Where is Step 5? I can't find it anywhere? Also, wouldn't you organize the homeschool room, then create the booklist then shop? I haven't watched those yet so I'll see what you have to say about your order :-)
