God bless Mark Perry . Atv were always top of the class .
Still Life is undoubtedly one of the greatest songs from this era. Incredible!
Ain't it, though.
just a classic ..ATV there music never ages. followed them from the start and they are still great live
God bless Mark Perry and ATV .
Heard these years ago and still these sound mint to me ...
Still Life is one of the greatest 1977 tunes, no question!
ATV have the sound ,melody and lyrics that like all the best bands since day one have that unusual and illusive ingredient which i can only desribe as quality
Legendary band, legendary DJ
I think maybe every generation looks back and says it was better back then, our generation can actually prove it, where are the free festivals now?
Fanfuckingtastic to hear new versions (to me) of these tracks. ATV!!
Thanks Vibracobra23 for posting this excellent but rarely heard post-punk classic.
Vibracobra is one of the greats on UA-cam, BobSeger1982...brought me hours of "holy shits", so many peel and bbc sessions, always sound great...bow. i only wish SST's Angst was invited to do one.
post-punk ?
Punk Is a real marvel, simple, elegant, minimal and seminal too. And saved rock'n'roll for the future!
This is great to have several really good songs by ATV in one UA-cam continuous play recordings. I like the live versions of their songs, you some interesting guitar parts that aren't as clear on the regular recordings (if you can find them).
ATV and Here n Now . There's an album .
Still sounds good .... since I saw them in 78..... ! Punk is Dead
Action Time and LEMON
a bitter lemon
"How Much Longer" was their best tune and one of the first punk tunes I ever heard.
*Thumbs*
Action Time Vision is a standard, though...and a fun song to play. less really is more. Thee Headcoats do a nice version. For ever it was all i knew from compilations, had the second lp but only snatched the first when it was reissued (a nice job by a reissue label that does a good job but has a bit of a bad reputation with the bands, or at least one i personally know of). Europe has looser publishing rules, apparently...
I loved 'Life'
Many thanks.
Thanks vibra and Radio6 ... 2 years before gang of 4 entertainment too. Love this stuff!
Magnificent.
Magnificent & Brilliant! Another Great U.K.Punk Band I Wish I Could Have Seen Live In Concert!
class band
Certainly not a Fender Telecaster sounding lead guitar on here, more like a Gibson Les Paul or a Gibson SG for this John Peel session. Apart from that another great UK original punk or punk rock band were Alternative TV, who alongside the likes of the Buzzcocks were also vastly underrated, and both too deserved more recognition.
Only difference being that Buzzcocks made dozens and dozens of superb melodic punk rock gems in the 70s whereas ATV made around 5 total. Don't get me wrong, I really like ATV but their 70s output was uneven at best.
@@c.s.4428 That's because they sacked Alex Ferguson
@@michaelpemberton592 True..!!
Alternative TV did some great reggae as the last song shows. (I can picture the Specials doing it, which must mean it's a great song.)
So good.
Oh my ! So much better than the record !
Listen to the rhythm ,listen to him sing ....three points
In A.T.V....V.....V.....V....V....!
Luv ya Tyrone
Wow, Love Lies Limp! not heard this since the 70s, wasn't it a flexidisc?
+Morris Mixmaster certainly was, given away with the final edition of Sniffin' Glue (no12)
I might still have a copy somewhere
Also issued as a standard 45 on ATV's Deptford Fun City label.
1. Action Time Vision (0:07)
1st Gen UK Punk
Fire and skill, 4 classic singles on the bounce !
This is what a 'glitch-in-the-matrix' sounds like.
This is an e chord. This an a chord. This is a d chord. Now form a band.
+ormond reisen Classic.
and why not form a band? musics good.
ormond reisen
Remember that mate . There was lots of shit but good stuff too . ATV , Wire , Slits , Acme , Damned , Moped . I'm too much of a jerk though .
An approach that results in works of genius surprisingly more often than you'd expect.
SOUNDS KIND OF LIKE THE BAY CITY ROLLERS.
Tyrone there. Welsh boy ?
Censorship on a peel session?!.. Love lies limp..
You mustn't say naughty words on the BBC.
ATV not as good as the single version but still brilliant
Totally disagree
Agree. I prefer the mangled guitar solo on the single to the more 'musical' one here
ATV >> Clash, Buzzcocks,Jam...imo
What the fuck is going on with the vocal senorship here! It's a UA-cam fuckup...it's a swrew up...
