I always look forward to your reaction. Anpanman is my fave too. The lyrics are deep despite of the cool vibe. Anpanman is a selfless superhero and kinda sad too coz he had to give all of himself to feed the poor children which leaves him with nothing but he has his friends to help him out. It's like sacrificing your own happiness so others can be happy. Very relative to the fake love concept and the masks that they wear. We all know during Burn the Stage that most of them have personal struggles, but when in front of their fans, they had to show their best so we don't have to worry. I really love it, too. I think it shows how humble BTS really are. Like the more popular they get, I think they feel even more of a desire/responsibility to give all of themselves to making people happier/making a better world because now they have the power to make a big impact. I also like Anpanman because it reminds me of Hobi's music. It's really bright and colorful and happy, but the lyrics are bittersweet and full of sacrifice. BTS members are really good people. Like genuinely good. I'm so happy to see good people be rewarded in the entertainment industry, where most people end up at least jaded if not lost.
As a Suga bias Jimin bias-wrecker, Jin and V have been absolute standouts this album from watching Singluarity and Fake Love for the first time to listening to the album and watching the comeback stages. After Singularity, I was expecting V to really stand out, but Jin was a total surprise. I don't know what happened, but he really stepped up this album, to the point where I can't take my eyes off him :)
anpanman is a japanese children's cartoon character. his head is anpan, or anko-pan, a bread stuffed with sweet red-bean paste that you'll find in japanese bakeries. also, korean bakeries here in america do carry something similar to anpan. it's called patppang.
I think Anpanman appeals to their fans. It clearly has a message to them that you dont have to be perfect, or strong (like SuperMan). Anpanman is good enough. Dont kick yourself for not being the best or the greatest. You are already the best.
They made a song abt anpanman bc they thought anpanman is the weakest hero bc anpanman always sacrifices himself for ppl by giving some of his face(anpanman's face is made of bread filled with anpan) and BTS thought they could be a hero not as a strong and admirable hero but as an hero who is not that gifted power like normal heros but helping ppl by sharing and sacrficing himself like anpanman(being relatable). That's why at 11:33 RM gives some of his face to Jimin in choreo. Jimin said that in the press conference of Ly:tear in Korea💜
So I was mostly right! It's my very favorite thought. That message is so wonderful and inspiring. Like we don't have to be perfect to be helpful and if all of us are a little more caring and a little less selfish we can make such a better world!

Oh! Cool! After we do our lyrics reaction, we should check it out! I love hearing right from them what their inspiration was/what they hope we get from the music.
They've improved so much as producers. The rapline were heavily involved in calling the chops. They collabed with a lot of acclaimed producers like DJ Swivel who has produced foe Beyonce, Steve Aoki (who surprised everyone with a ballad), and i don't know their name but the producer for Havana helped in producing Airplane pt. 2 They also had their in house producers help so much. Overall, I think they are really aiming for critically acclaimed status for Tear. They already got a relatively high review from Pitchfork (a US critic circle that is known for ending careers of up and coming artists because of a bad review) which is rarw for a Pop Group. Tear is by far their best album, structure and production-wise. The thematic and narrative structure of Wings is still stronger but the overall quality of Tear far exceeds Wings. The best part of Wings are the solo songs and how each solo song progressed the storyline. They are improving with every release. I'm so excited for more.

They were really exceptional. Like even just as a producer and taking all my love for them out of the equation they were SO WELL MADE. I think my biggest bias wrecker in BTS is the Bighit staff.

RIGHT? Everyone has grown/matured so much this comeback but seeing them so casually shake off old criticisms warms my heart. Like new Army would never guess people would make fun of Jin and RM for dancing or say that Jin couldn't sing. Oh my god I agree so hard. The solos I think are some of the best things they've ever done, but the Wings album as a whole was not as good as LY: Tear as a whole
Yep. Which is such a cool thing to say! You always want your newest project to be your best project. I think Wings proved to themselves and to Bighit that they can write/produce their own music and do really well. Now Tear is the most BTS-produced album yet and it's their strongest. They're growing a lot as musicians.
Second Breakfast Club Yess I have the same opinion.. While we are enjoying their music growth, sadly there are Armys who said they don't like this album. They're expecting the much more usual headbanger and swaggy vibes. Some also said that they much prefer the Dark and Wild era. Musically, BTS has matured so much and it really shows their music development with the various genres in this album. Those Armys don't spare enough time to enjoy and be appreciative of each of the songs. This is really making me sad. On the other hand, I'm glad there are still many Armys including you both who are being appreciative for their music growth.
@armeinia I think some of it is just personal taste. Like I appreciate all their growth musically, but their new album just isn't my musical taste (I don't like EDM all that much, for instance, and they've become more EDM heavy over the years), so I don't like it as much. I recognize that the vocals are amazing, I appreciate their lyricism and concepts, the cohesiveness of the album, and I like all their experimenting in new genres, but the album's just not my taste. Just because some Armys don't like the album as much as others doesn't mean they don't appreciate the boys growth and all the work they put into their albums. Just food for thought.
Alex B. I get what you mean. I don't like EDM myself. You won't find Chainsmokers tracks on my playlist. And when Despacito was all over the internet and radio, I didn't jump on the bandwagon. What I'm trying to say is, yes this album is not for everyone's taste. But won't they be boring if they stay in the same genre/s? Let's take Twice for example (I mean no hate or being negative towards this GG). Their songs have this similar sounds until now. Even their fans admitted that. Yes they experiment, and I think they're pretty much succesful in trying the new sounds. Most musicians have gone through the phase of changing their sounds, but not all of them passed with flying colors. Some of them were going downhills. When I heard Magic Shop for the first time, I feel proud because "Oh wow, Kookie produced this". When I heard Airplane pt.2, I was floored with the Latin vibes that I had to replay the song over and over and realize "Woah Okay they can also rock the Latin music." Everytime I heard their new songs, I just feel that "You know what, they can totally do any genres and make everyone bops". What makes me feel amazed by them everytime is that they are a Kpop group idol. But unlike other groups, they luckily can create any music they want just like other mainstream musicians. And talk about their growth, just think about them 5 years ago. Even when they're debuting, they faced criticsm regarding their genre. They ignored the criticsm and kept developing their music until they got recognized. They keep making music that they deemed worthy to be listened. Imagine what would happen if they gave up and change their music to what people expected, they won't be survive even to 5-year point. It's what makes them different. So eventhough they've broaden their music, they still maintain their main uniqueness that is BTS.
Anpanman was a superhero who was basically a piece a bread. I think he was he may not have been a piece of bread but he was a piece of food and he basically broke pieces of himself off too feed poor children which in return made him weaker.
The choreographer for Airplane Pt. 2 and Anpanman is Rie Hata, a Japanese dance crew leader. She mentioned this in a cute shoutout to BTS with her kid on her Instagram at riehata. She also choreographed Mic Drop.
You're the ONLY Reaction channel that Min Yoongi (Suga) was SINGING. My Dream would be that they ALL Switched roles in a Song or even album. So RM, J-hope and Suga would sing whilst Jin,Jimin,V and Jungkook would rap. It would be AMAZING!
That makes sense! It also makes me really proud of them. They're really good about reaching out to people whose culture they're trying to appreciate. It's something you don't see a lot in any music, let alone Kpop. It shows a lot of respect for other cultures.

Also in case you didn't know their have been issue about Airplane pt. 2 the high pitch voice that sounds like a girl in the beginning some thinks that it is a Muslim prayer but for my personal opinion I thought it was just a synthesized voice.
Namjoon mentioned in the album press conference that BigHit pulled in foreign writers/producers (DJ Swivel, MNEK, Ali Tamposi, etc) to ease the burden on them. Airplane pt2 is a Latin-inspired song which was written by Ali Tamposi who worked on Camila Cabello's Havana :)

i think, airplane pt 2, the beat is more of a tango than a salsa.... and they've used a lot more writers, producers, and mixers from america for this album.

RIGHT? Everyone has grown/matured so much this comeback but seeing them so casually shake off old criticisms warms my heart. Like new Army would never guess people would make fun of Jin and RM for dancing or say that Jin couldn't sing. It makes me happy so many new fans will never experience that negativity live from a lot of people.

Oh my god I agree so hard. The solos I think are some of the best things they've ever done, but the Wings album as a whole was not as good as LY: Tear as a whole
Yep. Which is such a cool thing to say! You always want your newest project to be your best project. I think Wings proved to themselves and to Bighit that they can write/produce their own music and do really well. Now Tear is the most BTS-produced album yet and it's their strongest. They're growing a lot as musicians.
Second Breakfast Club Yess I have the same opinion.. While we are enjoying their music growth, sadly there are Armys who said they don't like this album. They're expecting the much more usual headbanger and swaggy vibes. Some also said that they much prefer the Dark and Wild era. Musically, BTS has matured so much and it really shows their music development with the various genres in this album. Those Armys don't spare enough time to enjoy and be appreciative of each of the songs. This is really making me sad. On the other hand, I'm glad there are still many Armys including you both who are being appreciative for their music growth.
@armeinia I think some of it is just personal taste. Like I appreciate all their growth musically, but their new album just isn't my musical taste (I don't like EDM all that much, for instance, and they've become more EDM heavy over the years), so I don't like it as much. I recognize that the vocals are amazing, I appreciate their lyricism and concepts, the cohesiveness of the album, and I like all their experimenting in new genres, but the album's just not my taste. Just because some Armys don't like the album as much as others doesn't mean they don't appreciate the boys growth and all the work they put into their albums. Just food for thought.

I don't like EDM myself. You won't find Chainsmokers tracks on my playlist. And when Despacito was all over the internet and radio, I didn't jump on the bandwagon.
What I'm trying to say is, yes this album is not for everyone's taste. But won't they be boring if they stay in the same genre/s? Let's take Twice for example (I mean no hate or being negative towards this GG). Their songs have this similar sounds until now. Even their fans admitted that.
Yes they experiment, and I think they're pretty much succesful in trying the new sounds. Most musicians have gone through the phase of changing their sounds, but not all of them passed with flying colors. Some of them were going downhills.
When I heard Magic Shop for the first time, I feel proud because "Oh wow, Kookie produced this". When I heard Airplane pt.2, I was floored with the Latin vibes that I had to replay the song over and over and realize "Woah Okay they can also rock the Latin music." Everytime I heard their new songs, I just feel that "You know what, they can totally do any genres and make everyone bops". What makes me feel amazed by them everytime is that they are a Kpop group idol. But unlike other groups, they luckily can create any music they want just like other mainstream musicians.
And talk about their growth, just think about them 5 years ago. Even when they're debuting, they faced criticsm regarding their genre. They ignored the criticsm and kept developing their music until they got recognized. They keep making music that they deemed worthy to be listened. Imagine what would happen if they gave up and change their music to what people expected, they won't be survive even to 5-year point.
It's what makes them different.
So eventhough they've broaden their music, they still maintain their main uniqueness that is BTS.

Anpanman was a superhero who was basically a piece a bread. I think he was he may not have been a piece of bread but he was a piece of food and he basically broke pieces of himself off too feed poor children which in return made him weaker.
The choreographer for Airplane Pt. 2 and Anpanman is Rie Hata, a Japanese dance crew leader. She mentioned this in a cute shoutout to BTS with her kid on her Instagram at riehata. She also choreographed Mic Drop.

That makes sense! It also makes me really proud of them. They're really good about reaching out to people whose culture they're trying to appreciate. It's something you don't see a lot in any music, let alone Kpop. It shows a lot of respect for other cultures.
Maybe you should watch their official presscon of their comeback they explain the message of each song and their inspiration, and why they collaborate with some artists. Because when my sister and me heard the The Truth Untold ft. Steve Aoki it was mind blowing.

From other mv there's been constantly showing man in black cloak which intrigued ppl so much abt what msg bring up to or symbolism smth especially teaser showing which bts trade in smth in magic shop. Those tension build up until last part of bts fake love performance 😲 mind blowing to me which I love the most. Think the black robe man resemble dark side of immerse inner self of us good or bad which can be too personal refuse to show up to others.mask urself can be protection shield or usual self presentation to public society. How fake love relate to all these 2 symbolism ? How we present to the public is it true self of us? Or fake self with mask to face reality world. I get some idea of mine n other army's opinion to comes up what type of interpretation of fake love in term of self love perspective. Real self or fake self no matter what happen it still part of us.
