I just received mine last week, and so far loving it. It's getting harder and harder to manually vacuum, so after many many hours of watching different reviews of all the different robot vac's, this seemed this best one for the money. I really liked the roller mop and the almost no maintenance with the water hookup.
Super excited for this one even though I won’t be back stateside for 9 months, so hopefully the firmware updates and bug fixes only make this thing better, and maybe I can pair it with the dehumidifier by then too. Plan to build a cabinet in my 1/2 bath to replace the pedestal sink the house came with so I think I’ll customize it for the S10 to hideaway perfectly.
Thanks for also showing the maintenance! For the mopping: we own an old mopping robot (not smart) that uses the exact same mopping style and it´s very good at what it does. Was always wondering why no one else does this.
Every robot vacuum needs to have a replaceable battery. The battery should be available for purchase and the compartment should be easily accessible as opposed to glued shut forever. Does this robot do this or not?
Have you tested the Narwal vac/mop that connects to the plumbing as well??? That was the first one that I saw. I’d be interested to know your comparison between the two. How awesome that it can connect directly to the plumbing hey. Thanks 🙏 so much for another detailed fantastic video.
Nice review Shane. Did you try the vacuum on the rug with the black and white pattern. Many robo vacuums have IR cliff sensor to prevent them from falling over edges (stairs). But they can get onfused with high contrast pattern rugs. Dreame and Roboroc have this issue.
Another great video Shane! I have the S10 as well. Unfortunately still having some issues with it making the dishwasher backup, and the mop doesn't always come all the way down to the floor (seems to be a common issue on Reddit). Tried to contact Switchbot, but they are a little slow in replying. To be expected I guess as they are continuing to update the firmware to try to solve bugs after release. Keep up the great work Shane!
Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your experience. Historically SwitchBot's customer support has been very good, so hopefully they'll get this taken care of soon.
FYI != i attached the water station to the toilet fill line with the brass T. i first used an o-ring that easily fit in the female T fitting inlet, HOWEVER IT LEAKED. after much trial and error, i finally swapped out the smaller o-ring with one that was a very tight fit (seemed like it might be too large) and it provided a water tight seal. i simply located the waste return tube into the toilet tank from behind. the tank had a slight indent allowing the tube to go between the tank and the lid. DEFINITELY encourage placing a leak detector near the water station. there are remote leak detector systems that will also turn off the main water supply if a problem
sadly there is no local control via their bluetooth API (which they have for must other products, you can’t even fall back onto matter as matter support is currently only available in combination with their hub and only supports on and off states anyways
Narwal Freo X Ultra has the option to connect it to plumbing but uses the same charging base/water tanks. The SwitchBot is the first one that I've seen that uses a separate water station (and doesn't require a power outlet).
@@ShaneCreates Thanks for replying Shane. But what' the plus point of separate water station. The charging base is still using power anyway. Plus it is taking extra space than Freo. My point is that Switchbot S10 might be useful for someone who doesn't have a plug point and water stations nearby. But for new houses, I think Narwal Freo will be better. What's your thought on that?
@@10pc Narwal makes great products also. But for integrating something into your water line, I think the SwitchBot would be much easier because of the size and not needing power. The Narwal station is larger and wouldn't fit in a lot of places that the SwitchBot water station can fit.
I was torn between the eufy s1 pro and the switchbot s10. I decided to try the switchbot first because it has the dual station design which I think is absolutely ingenious. The eufy might get a modification to hookup to plumbing but there’s no way to separate it from the dust collector like the switchbot.
Thank you for your service! I am not a Marine. The owner of the house where we did the installation is. And his son recently joined...4th generation Marine.
On the upside if you do flood the house you’ve got a smart water cut off to turn it off for you. 😂 Nice development albeit expected in this type of smart appliance. ❤️💪🏼😎👍🏼❤️

Wish all the review videos for the S10 weren't sponsored by switchbot.
Every review I see that says that I just dismiss and ignore.

out of curiosity, what is the name of the old robot you're using?
@@georgegita8662 It’s a Medion MD 18379.

See The Hook Up for a comparison of three plumbing hookup vacuums. Very thorough.

If you install it under your kitchen, will you bump against it with your toes every time?
One of the only missing feature is the ability to go up and down stairs 😊
Imma wait for the humidifier
cool!!!!i love your vedio!!!!!!
I saw some video where plumbing robot is already there. Narwal Freo

I didn’t realize that you are a Marine. 🇺🇸🫡 Thank you for your service and sacrifice! As a former fly boy I promise to keep my jokes to a minimum! 😂😂

Oh boy, Shane, this is a good one. 🔥
Thanks Edgar!
Just need the next version of this robot vacuum to use the narwal freo style cantilever roller.
This vacuum cleaner is really good, I have one at home too.
