Martin we seem to have a lot in common with each other ,in that we do resto's on the same model's , and I think we both do a great job ,nice one . Rob.
Beautiful work as always, Martin. That was a great find you made on eBay with enough spare parts to finish 3 different models. Good thinking on the removal of the mixing barrel as you did too. Great paint choices and a really nice final product. Always a pleasure to visit and watch you do your thing on the bench! Enjoy the weekend and take care during the latest UK lockdown. Thumbs up from Switzerland - Andrew 👍
Superb restoration Martin, well done. 👍👌😁 I don't ever remember seeing one of these, they nailed the shape of that cab. Must have been late '60s, a gritter version of one of these sat outside my gate all winter; that's how I know the shape so well, I passed it every day going to/from school. That simple mechanism, still working perfectly after all this time, shows they were built properly - maybe better than the real ones, going by the lack of rust. 😁
The cab unit is a super casting - so accurate to the real thing, which I well remember! If you had to grind off the front axle, the original front wheels could work as the missing backs, and your pirate wheels from the Bedford become new fronts... I assume. But I don't have the model, and it's great fun being clever after the event! Nice finish - and a wild old day, by the sound of it! Good job: hope the curry was good!
Thanks Fraser, unfortunately the back wheels were dished hubs and the fronts weren't so I couldn't do that mores the pity thanks for your observation 👍 The curry was great 😃 Take care my friend
Absolutely gorgeous restoration Martin! Turned out beautiful as usual with your builds! Thanks for the history lesson on the paint markings on the drum and on the front of the World War II planes quite accurate my friend! Stay safe!
Hi Martin a lovely job on the Albion cement mixer I found on some vehicles they have identical wheels it's a shame about the screen but you can't see it much and miss you really look close . Stay safe mate take care Ralph Cooling
Hi Martin what a lovely old truck I've never seen one like that before with the spinning bowl. It turned out excellent and that was good thinking there with the rear wheel change. You would have fallen off your chair with laughter if you saw me this afternoon I was trying to super glue a bit of plastic moulding onto a screen door and it was an old tube the hole was blocked and it came out the side bit where the nozzle screws on. Yep before I realised it I had well and truly glued the tube to my finger. I yelled out to the wife and asked if she had any acetone. After 10 minutes laughing her head off she said no and I had to sit there like a right nanna with a tube of glue stuck on my finger for 20 minutes until she returned from the shops. Luckily after soaking it for 5 minutes it came off with no damage to my pinkie lol. Stay safe mate catch ya on the next one.👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I bet you felt like a right wally, mind you a while ago I had used some of that deep heat on my back and got distracted and forgot to wash my hands and went for a pee and my god I was in pain my wife came in the bathroom to see what all the swearing was about and there i was washing my ...... in the sink 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Have a good day my friend
Hello Martin. Like the Albion. Lorries . Great restoration as always . The Skip lorry would make a great restoration. not seen one for sale on e bay hope you and your family are keeping well regards Glyn
Hi Glyn thanks for your support my friend, I have seen them on ebay not often but thay go for really strong money I would like one but I will have to be patient.
Looks great Martin, I’ve got a yellow Albion with a skip on the back I inherited from my uncle, it’s missing some parts though. Stay warm, enjoy the curry!
Thanks PB, the skip version is a valuable piece if complete go for strong money over here. Thanks for your support my friend, looking forward to your next video.
Must be something in the air Martin, concrete mixer week lol😉Lovely restoration though, came out quite stunning, shame that it turned out to be a crack in the windscreen and not a scuff but these things happen. I have one of these to do but the moulded cog wheels where the drum fits are snapped off on one side and the screen is like the one on your coal Bedford TK🤦🏻♂️. Good job with the wheels, it’s great when you can pick up a few spares like that cheaply, better than repro parts👍 Great stuff Martin, I enjoyed the video as always and look forward to your next one😊👍 Take care, all the best, Nick.
Thanks nick ,yours sounds in a bad way , its always a bonus when you drop on a scrap casting that can help to fix others makes life easier. Not as complex as your one though. Take care my friend
Hi Martin fantastic model this week i really like these including the skip version. The bin lorry came in handy, the parts "wheely" helped. Stanley is on something strange this week!. Enjoy your Joe Frazier for best results warm your naan breads on a George Foreman. All the best from Ian & family.
Now thats what you call a proper toy. Excellent colour choice with top detailing as weve come to know and expect. Also hope you enjoyed your Jalfrezi? Thanks as always mate, keep up the sterling videos👍👍 All th best. Col👍
Concur. Nice resto as always. Like you I've had some of those that have been impervious to caustic soda. Been reluctant to get the gloopy acid as sick squid a a can & hardly need it. Also twitchy about storing it. No shed to hide it in
Yeah some paints are a pain to remove, I keep my liquid paint stripper in a large coffee jar and put the casting in and seal it and leave over night ,its the rinsing off and cleaning it after is the messy part . Take care my friend
Cool martin great having a good selection of breaker cars to fix up few cars trucks very good by the way turned out to be a nice job buddy. Clean martin nice k, u, t, g, w,, 👍keith
Super restoration again Martin, did you use Chrome paint from a Molotow pen for the highlighting? It seems to be concrete mixer restoration week this week. 😃Crapaud Nick did a nice German concrete mixer yesterday. Always enjoy your videos, looking forward to the next one. Take care and stay safe and well. Regards. Peter.
Thanks Peter yes when I saw that nick had put his on I had to smile its not the first time we have clashed . No I didn't use the chrome pen on this one . Thanks for your continued support my friend take care 🙂
