I've never really understood this "enemy" thing? Are the enemy temporal or spiritual or both? Is it a Political system &/or another Religion & what ground is fought over? I'm not born again I was born & I was brought up in Church and Sunday School with the old fashioned "Love & Pray for those who curse you" type of thing because it brings us closer to God & that's what Jesus taught. MAGA AWAKING
Ok, so I am a conservative Christian. And yet I have a huge problem with the idea that the founding fathers made a covenant with God called our constitution. I find this repulsive to say the least. I live America, dont get me wrong, but I see nothing in the Bible about the estate of government making a covenant with God. God made a covenant with the people of Israel yes. God now has His covenant people the church. But someone who subjectively believes the Constitution is a covenant. No. Notice God made a covenant with Israel and the Church. Not the church and Israel making a covenant with God.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that man can't make covenant with God.
God made man in His image, and He gave our words power. If I can give my life to Christ with my words, why can't I make a covenant with Him? Whether he agrees to the covenant is a different question. God takes our words *very* seriously (Mat 12:33-37).
That being said, Idk much about the US consitution, but idk if it can be classed as a covenant with God, as from what I can see on google it doesn't seem to make much mention of Him in there. But I know the founding fathers dedicated the US to God, which He very much acknowledges.
There are also a few times in the Bible where men make agreements with the LORD.
Gen 28:20-22, Jacob makes one.
1 Sam 1:11 Hannah makes one
probably more that I am not including here
Although it says they vowed: in essence it's more or less the same thing: they made an agreement with God with their words in the same that God made agreements with use (God says if you obey me, I will bless you in Deut 28, Hannah says if you give me a son I will give him back to you)
