- This is a quick review of the Rocotactical Viper Hood. You can find these on Amazon for $42 (link below). In this video I compare it to my current viper hood which is made by Gienna Tactics and cost $160. I discuss the pros and cons of this discount viper hood and why it may be a "good enough" option for you.

Dude I would love to get into milsim cause I'm a usmc recon vet who's a prepper and tactically prepared for what's to come but joining a milsim could help sharpen my edges tactically plus I'd get to know a like minded group since in a SHTF situation I'll be solo because I got no one in my corner... I'm in the middle of making my own gillie suit I'm making it the same as the one I made in recon back in 2010 I'm using my desert marpat as the base layer that way it's a universal gillie suit cause it's easier to add darker a green foliage to lighter material than to try and turn a darker material light.

Pretty cool. $43 isn’t a bad price for an el cheapo hood to try out.
For the money I enjoy mine and it works. I've seen homemade hoods that were far worse.
I like Tactical Concealment's stuff(the Super Cobra is excellent, got one cheap from closeout sale a few years ago) but yeah, if you're only running it once that seems alright. The woodland fabric looks like it might get hot.
I had a Tactical Tailor Super Cobra Ghillie several years ago. It was a top notch build but I never got used to the full back. I ultimately got rid of it in favor or the Gienna Tactics one.

I use the Rocotactical Hood as well. I only purchase the full mesh OD hood, (not the mesh and fabric combo) although im actually working on a new hood that is full mesh but comes in multicam and woodland base patterns. I combine my hood with crafted goggles, gloves, boonie, and balaclava. I also throw the hood over a crafted cheap Chinese leaf suit that ive modified quite a bit. Not giving a plug for my channel, but if you would like to see how my suits look with this hood then check it out. I play airsfoft and have put this hood through the ringer and it's still functioning well. I highly recommend these hoods for versatility, affordability, breathability, and functionality.

BTW I dig my sling. I have a lot of people ask me about it

How did the hood fare during the event?
It worked well. I do believe that a boonie hat with some 3D leaf elements is probably the better way to go because it would offer better situational awareness. When in the hood you do feel like you are committed to looking straight ahead due to the hood.

I just want to come correct and do it right. I intentionally chose the sniper observer role because it was so far out of my comfort zone and I wanted to learn some new skill sets. SWAT snipers do NOT stalk.

They come in a variety of colors. I only used about half of one.
Give me a minute to find the leaf elements. It has been awhile since I bought those. I have reused them on several projects at this point.
