I am amazed at some of the negative criticism present here. I think that we should commend young people for even attempting to perform glorious music like this. We live in a world consumed by popular, lackluster music that offers nor real cultural benefits. For the record, Dr. Andre Thomas is an exceptional teacher and conductor. He has lead the choral activities department at Florida State for many years.
Fantastically beautiful and majestic. I feel the same awe when listening to the amazing duet Andrey Nemzer and Charlene Canty singing CANTICUM FRATRIS SOLIS. Such humility and inspiration!
we had 2 days 10 hours each day. Learning the piece from start to finish as well as 6 other challenging pieces. Then performed them all. 2007 California all state honor choir.
I don't have the sheet music with me at this point and I have sung tenor and played piano for this work...I hear no "popping" of 16th notes or imperfection in the piano. I hear a rendition that warms my heart.
we did the same song at the music thing in muscat oman, there were schools from kuwait, pakistan, saudi arabia, ethiopia and tunisa except we had a lot more people so it was a lot louder and we did it faster
this song -.- it bores me cuz my choir class which is the highest in OUR school. keep on singin this song so we can learn it for our concert.... its fun tho like some part >.> im a alto just sayin, my choir teacher show us this song today lol us alto was like o we gonna sound like them durin da concert psh ya right xD
Go Altos!!! wish the sopranos were quieter, but i understand its hard (I'm a soprano and an alto). The second piece is Omnia Sol by Stroope! love love love it!
Oh my god! This is SO good! I have to sing this song in choir and we are kinda bad....but this is amazing! I couldnt really hear their d's on "unmeasured praise". In choir we have to sing "unmeasure d'praise". So...yeah...but still this is AMAZING!
auditioning for maryland all-state on saturday :D doubt i will sound this good tho :/ we're singing this song for the auditions (i'm a bass) hope i do good. you guys sound amazing
i dont remember. We sang this song, probably the german piece called "frolechetier ir af arden" or sumthing. But i actually think it was this song called "omni a sol"
who is ur conductor? i'm a bass in the Connecticut All State Choir and we've got Dr. Andre Thomas and he's got the same exact selections. Looks like it's him conducting too. fantastic btw!
It does sound a bit flat when the sopranos are reaching the high notes. We sang this song for all-state 2-year college choir this year at the Texas Music Educators Association Convension. Yeah it is flat... the high notes are a bit flat, overall very good job.
we sing this in chorus at usdan [[summer camp]] and i love it, but i must admit, we sound so much better than these ppl. they sing it rele weird. i love singing this.
Daniel O. Jacobs who made you the judge and jury of whether or not this is good? I give the kids credit for doing a good job on a difficult piece of music
The re-articulation of each sixteenth-note is absolutely painful to listen to, and likely not healthy for high schoolers... Why in the world would a director ask for that?
I love this choir!! They sound so good and clear.
i was in this choir
it was such an honor to be working with Dr. Thomas he is AMAZING!
I love George Frederick Handel !
this is beautiful! the tone and sound is awesome. Bravo!!!!!!!!!!
Andre Thomas is a beast.
Good luck, Maryland Auditioners! I was in All- State in 1973. What a blast!

Nice job! I sang this in the Kansas State Choir almost 10 years go. Brings back great memories!
His name is Douglas Salazar, and he's actually a legitimate soprano. He had a solo the year before in the Northern California Regional Honor Choir.
Fantastically beautiful and majestic. I feel the same awe when listening to the amazing duet Andrey Nemzer and Charlene Canty singing CANTICUM FRATRIS SOLIS. Such humility and inspiration!
This is an amazing choir, the equalization and blending is pure beauty. Huge help in preparing for all-state auditions. :^)
Good luck! I sang this song last year. It was NOT easy.
handel is my musical hero, no man has been so inspired by God to make his music. SING UNTO GOD!
I missed this!! This was a great experience for me!!! :) i was a bass here :)

we did the same song at the music thing in muscat oman, there were schools from kuwait, pakistan, saudi arabia, ethiopia and tunisa except we had a lot more people so it was a lot louder and we did it faster
THA ALTO ROCKS THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am trying to learn this song for my district choir. Wow the Soprano part is all over the place but listening to this is really helping.
very good work
The 1995 Texas All State Choir actually had a full orchestra play with song instead of just a piano!
Very nice. Excellent articulations on the runs, very nicely done!
this song -.-
it bores me cuz my choir class which is the highest in OUR school. keep on singin this song so we can learn it for our concert.... its fun tho like some part >.> im a alto just sayin, my choir teacher show us this song today lol us alto was like o we gonna sound like them durin da concert psh ya right xD
sang this at the Disney concert hall 2016. fun song
my choir is singing this tonight :)
Go Altos!!! wish the sopranos were quieter, but i understand its hard (I'm a soprano and an alto).

@OjosPardos217 frohlocket ihr volker auf erden...i loved that piece as well as omnia sol
Oh my god! This is SO good! I have to sing this song in choir and we are kinda bad....but this is amazing! I couldnt really hear their d's on "unmeasured praise". In choir we have to sing "unmeasure d'praise". So...yeah...but still this is AMAZING!

Hermosa interpretacion FELICIDADES

about 160 in mixed and 80ish in womans
who is ur conductor? i'm a bass in the Connecticut All State Choir and we've got Dr. Andre Thomas and he's got the same exact selections. Looks like it's him conducting too. fantastic btw!
WOAH Is that Dr. Thomas?? He directed us for this piece too!
I absolutely suck at this song.
It does sound a bit flat when the sopranos are reaching the high notes. We sang this song for all-state 2-year college choir this year at the Texas Music Educators Association Convension. Yeah it is flat... the high notes are a bit flat, overall very good job.

help me please.
how can i get this lyric. i really really love this song. :)
Who is the countertenor singing with the sopranos? He looks a lot like my neighbor's nephew.
who is the choral conductor for this? Is it Andre J Thomas?
That's definitely Omnia Sol
Why are they popping the 16th notes in all of the "praise" sections. That is not how the music is written
Thank god I wasn't the only one thinking this. Although, other than that they did beautifully!
Actually It's the punctuated notes that make this version my favourite.
This is actually correct for the period
Singerross is correct. In fact I felt that their melismas were not nearly staccato enough for the time period.
Baroque melisme are supposed to be extremely staccato.
ummm, i guess. For what reason?lol just for me to see it.
what the... this performance puts the 'awe' in awful!
Daniel O. Jacobs who made you the judge and jury of whether or not this is good? I give the kids credit for doing a good job on a difficult piece of music
nice choir but the piano acc really cant do the job.....don,t they know there,s something called the king off instruments?organo
The long "praise" phrases are way too stacatto
I'm sure your school choir sounds better than an all state choir. NOT
The re-articulation of each sixteenth-note is absolutely painful to listen to, and likely not healthy for high schoolers... Why in the world would a director ask for that?
