  • Change is good! HOME DECOR THRIFTING with a little retail shopping too! THRIFT WITH ME & THRIFT HAUL
Hello everyone, my name is Julie and on Thrilled Thrifter you will find that I absolutely love thrift shopping.(Especially for home decor!) I want to share all things thrift here on my channel to teach you how to go thrifting for your home, family and friends. {I'm not a reseller!} I mostly thrift at Goodwill, yard/garage sales, FB marketplace, antique stores, estate sales and so many other local thrift stores. I believe you can make your home beautiful on a thrifty budget! I will take you on so many thrift with me shopping trips, share my thrift hauls and almost always show you how to use thrift finds in your home. I post every Friday and sometimes on Tuesday. Occasionally I do thrift flips and decorating videos too! I hope you walk away from my channel feeling inspired to shop secondhand. Don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out!

I did that with my brothers newborn clothes. I soaked it in oxiclean and mild laundry detergent. Every now and then I would agitate it with my hands. After an hour or so, I rinsed them really well with warm water. I put them on a towel and rolled it up and squeezed to get out the extra water. Lay them on a white sheet or towel in the sun.

Hey Julie. I think if you look at the scissors, the V is next to the Alley. It's Valley Forge, that is their trademark. Nice haul. I love the baby clothes. I think I would wash them by hand, and try vinegar to get the stains out.

Loved the green Nautica bed set with the green noel pillow or green poinsettia pillows on top. The vintage black Singer sewing machine would have been my first choice over everything. When washing baby dresses i would place each one in separate lingerie bacgs on gentle cycle with Oxiclean, skipping the spin cycle, squeezing out all the luquid possible, then lay down to dry.

Good morning, Julie and family. One of my favorite stores to shop and to buy our quilt and comforter set is Ross. The NOEL pillow I love it. Congratulation Elizabeth on driving so cool. Yes. They grow fast my ex-preemie is in college and 19 years young. Works part time and voted 2 times on 2 Primary. We are early voters🥰 Beautiful reversable comforter. The wooden reindeer is adorable something I would buy. The story of your neighbor and her baby gowns touch my heart. Today our daughter went to Bath & Body Works she bought my Christmas gifts early and something for her on sale. Total $100.00 she only pay only $35.00. I stay in the car while her Daddy went inside the mall with her. He sat in the waiting area in front of the store, and she got her items. He told me to hurry LOL and you, and I spend a long time at the store smelling the perfumes samples. I was miss 🥰 I taught her well always look for bargains. She has her bank account with her saving in a Credit Union with me. Her own credit be independent. God bless them.🌺

I have my mothers baby gowns that my grandma made them for my mom. I washed mine by hand, I think I used dawn. My mom would be 101 so I’m sure they would be 100 yrs old. I have them hanging in my bedroom. 🥰

Hand wash for sure. You might try soaking them in a little OxiClean. But what we used to use to get stains out of quilts was hydrogen peroxide. It looks like the material is kind of delicate so I would try the OxiClean first. Then if that doesn’t work try the hydrogen peroxide. Take a cotton ball, wet it with the peroxide and dab at the stain. If you have little holes that you want to patch, darning a small piece of antique lace would look sweet. Good luck! you’ll have to let us know how they turn out.

I would gently hand wash the baby gowns after I soaked them for a while. Your husband is right. That is a needle box. And I love the scissors. I would have bought the sewing machine - whether it worked or not.😂 It's a disease. I have machines everywhere! My husband recently bought me an old Singer electric in a cabinet for $25. They said it didn't work. My husband had it running within 15 minutes of bringing it home. I doubt I ever use any of them because I have new ones. But I derive some type of comfort from them. They remind me of time spent with my grandmother, who sewed for me. That's where I learned to sew. My family life was not so good. My grandparents' place was my safe haven. That's why I love the old stuff, especially sewing & gardening!

I put each of my children’s baby dresses that I handstitched in shadow boxes that I Lined in fabric like velvet. Used a little extra lightweight batting to add some contour interest. My children are in their 50-60’s and still have them hanging on n their bedrooms. Get lots of compliments.

Julie, I love the measuring tape with "Curlee" on it. My mother worked for Curlee Clothes in Winchester, Kentucky in the 1960's. They made men's suits for Harts, Shafter and Marks as well as other companies. At the time she worked there, they made the 3 piece suits which included the vests so they were very stylish and expensively priced. I was a teenager at the time and I am now 77. I don't know if the main office for Curlee was in St. Louis or why it gave that city. I enjoy your videos because I love vintage items as well. I was surprised you didn't purchase the chamber pot. Maybe you already have one. Keep up the good work.

Dampen them, then rub down with a Fels Naptha bar. Add 1/4c. Murphy’s oil soap and a small amount of oxi clean to a dishpan of hot water and add the dresses. Move them around every 30 minutes until water is cool, then throw in the washer. This is how I get stains out of everything. Learned it washing my son’s baseball pants.

I work with vintage pieces a lot. I soak things in cool water and Oxy clean. You can dissolve it in warm water but let it cool before putting your pieces in. Rinse them well with cool water. Place them in a white towel and roll them up to get out excess water then lay them flat to dry. Your husband is correct, that is a needle caddy. I display my vintage sewing notions in a large glass jar to keep them dust free. Wow...that was long winded 😅

Julie? Why I was watching the video I seen your purse was just in the basket. You know what's holiday time? People are anxious to buy things. And they're anxious to snag and grab. bonnielawson7455. Just checking -- do you, by chance, mean baking soda instead of baking powder? I've never heard of using baking powder for cleaning.

Those little dresses are beautiful. I would gravitate to those, too! Do hand wash! Great find with the scissors. I love vintage sewing items. In my craft room, I have two very large ball jars I thrifted. In one, I keep vintage tomato pin cushions. The other, I display my vintage scissors 😊 Thanks for sharing, Julie

I don't know if you knew but the little thing you picked up at the yard sale that looked sort of like pointed nose plyers. You should have got them. That was an antique curling iron

The 2 items on the chain are buttons out of the vintage bag, I have an old sweater of my dads that has those same buttons.
