Just got an iPad Air M1 for $399. I think this is by far the best value iPad you can get today. Absolutely no reason to spend more unless you want a bigger screen.
I'm just gonna get the Air too. Just unsure either the M1 or M2, depending on how much the older one's price is reduced.
Or want a better Apple Pencil that brings some pretty great upgrades

The only knock to the air is no promotion display. If you have a pro iPhone and an air you’ll definitely be able to tell a refresh difference
@@JoshS2021 yeah, i have a 15 pro with the air 4. it’s quite jarring but doesn’t really matter with my usecase for my ipad. should have gotten an older pro though

Wish they had some sort of yellow-ish or gold color on the iPad Air this time around. The yellow of the iPad 10th Gen is gorgeous, I think.
The Starlight color is the closest to gold.

I'd love to hear a comparison of the 13" Air vs the 13" Pro speakers. The Pro's always have Quad Speakers of course but the Air has 4 speaker grills but Apple list it as Landscape Stereo Speakers. The staff in the Apple Store the other day couldn't tell me and it was too noisy to really hear a difference, it seemed like most of the audio was coming from the top speaker grills in the Air though, which makes me wonder if the grills are just aesthetic and not actually 4 speakers, which would be stupid.

Did anyone else see a huge performance drop in latest update. My single core is still 2991 but my multicore fell from 7575 to around 7400. Its only gone up with updates until now.

I think they do, but not as fast as the Pro. I think the Pro is the only one with a thunderbolt speed connection to actually give you max speeds.
I got the Pro version delivered today and it is annoying that we don’t get the charger in the UK but we still have Face ID which I am glad and not the Touch ID.

but aren’t the specs for the air the exact same thing that is on the iPad 10th generation ? So just more ram and updated chipset.?
The screen is a huge difference as well. The 10th gens screen isn't laminated which makes a big difference in image quality.

I ran the same geekbench test on my ipad pro 11 (M1, 3rd gen) and got a score of 8700 in multi-core. How is this possible if the new airs are having M2 ??

It’s fine for most people unless you have to have unbelievably smooth scrolling most people won’t even notice it
I’d like to know the day to day differences between the new air and the new pro, such as pencil hover and other minute characteristics and feel. The geekbenches I feel are overdone and you never really see the differences if you don’t have them side by side. Thanks! Your videos are really good

I liked the blue colour comparison between the M1 and M2 Air. I think both look great and the new blue is more like sky blue.

On the geekbench results page and you brought in the Pro - it's screen looks 'grey' maybe with a tinge of blue - the two Air models (on the screen I was watching the video by) looks 'greenish-grey'

Awesome video! Is there a way to connect a cellular model iPad to your existing iPhone cellular plan? How much extra would that cost a month? That is an awesome device! I’m glad that the new Apple Pencil Pro works with both iPad Pro and iPad Air.
No typically you’ll have to open a different plan as it requires a different Sim card

hi i have an ipad 5 but will buy a new ipad to be able to edit youtube on. is the m1 ipad air good? is there just battery health on the new ipad air? thinking of buying last year's ipad air but want to be able to see battery health
The M1 and 2 iPads are great but Final Cut on iPad is horrible. No plugins and it’s only good for a rough cut. I noticed after it came out a few people made tutorials they it went silent because it’s basically a flop. LumaFussion is a much better solution on iPad.
I think its actually just the new iPad OS update that gives the battery life?

I cant decide between ipad air 13inch or ipad pro 11inch (In 256gb theres no big price difference). I really want bigger screen but pro 13inch its just too expensive. So i would like some advice for what to choose, like pro has face id, ProMotion, oled, raytracing and other cool features. So my question is if i should get a bit smaller screen ipad pro but with all these worth features rather than air13inch? Thanks in advance!

The pro have enough that I would personally pick the 11inch over the 13 air but I would just wait how long longer it would take to get the 13 pro instead because I’m not in a hurry

If you live in Europe or some other countries, you won’t get a power brick anymore in the box. But if you were living in the United States, then it is included in the box with the iPad.

No. The 11 inch pro with an M2 still has a better display and better speakers.

The screen compared to the Pro you brought in were like a warm white. Is that the default setting❓15:46
It’s probably that he left the setting for “True Tone” on. It changes the white balance based on ambient lighting to “match” the white balance of the environment. Everyone who uses an iPad for anything photography or video based turns that setting off. Could also be “Night mode” if he is filming at night.
@@ghost-user559 that’s exactly what it looked like, but Aaron is usually a lot better at making sure the video production is as true to form as possible, which he never uses that settings.
@@garyclark6747 Yeah, I think it probably just came on as default and it looks like a genuine unboxing and setup, so I dont think he noticed in person with those studio lights. It makes sense with a first impression. It would be more surprising for a longer review where it was used for any length of time, but I do see how it could slip past him with all those lights on.
I’ll let you know how I like mine when it arrives

Haven't had an ipad for a little while and was looking at getting one again, was using the Pros for years along with 120hz phones and I tried the 13" Air, the 60hz was pretty damn horrible 😂 I didn't think it would bother me that much but maaaan it did! Might just look at getting the m2 pro used, can't justify that 1300 for the m4 pro 😳

Still highly debating on whether or not I should get this new iPad Air. Never owned an iPad before and would use it for regular daily use.

I wish that Apple would've made the iPad Air and iPad Pro the same thickness, but now the Air is thicker than the Pro...which is stupid. I do love how Apple surprised us this year by upgrading to the M4 chip in the iPad Pro rather than the usual "Ooohh, new chip in the MacBook Pro" stuff they do every year, and the new OLED displays. I like both of them.
My thing is the M4 is just a name. They could have called it the M14 and bragged that the skipped 12 generations.

iPad Air 13 inch model is a good deal imo. $799 is not bad at all.
I’m just angry that Apple charges the sizes just enough that accessories won’t work, especially the magic keyboards. Also there’s no reason who the new pencil shouldn’t work with any other pro iPad. Great review.
There is. For the front camera to be moved to the long side, they had to also change the magnet arrangement for charging the Apple Pencil, making it incompatible between the newest and older iPads.

Have the 10th gen. iPad which is good enough for me.
I was debating whether I should get the air for me and give my iPad 10 to my kids but I really cannot justify it. For my kind of use (pretty much social media, Duolingo and Netflix) this iPad flies through 😊 I’ll save the money and upgrade it when they stop supporting the A14 Bionic chip on the iPad 10.
I bring my 10th to store compare air 11.its light weight and better screen.may consider trade it 😊

it has more ram, but iOS 17.5 seems to increase the scores as well

Space grey smaller iPad looks nice. I don't see the point of pencil. Never have the need to use one at all.

How to place sim card
There is no physical SIM card. You have to convert it to an eSIM. If it wont do it automatically you will have to contact your carrier.

Hello Aron to say that Apple are so committed to inclusion included in their accessibility features, however in contradiction their quick set up guides and paperwork is displayed in the tiniest print. I have never had access to their paperwork and have been a follower with my Apple products since they began.
