I follow a few pigeon accounts but not that one and youtube just simply recommended your account. And thanks for the time you put into this video and I have a question for you, what percentage of the young will be barless with two parents carrying the gene?
Do you mean if two barless carriers are mated together? 50% will carry but not express the gene, 25% will get two copies and will be barless, and the final 25% won't get the gene at all. It's the first Punnett Square in the video 👍
Awesome Thanks for your feed back All down here talk about eye sign, even partly i was into it, but after watching your videos and maney i am trying to come into your track.
Nice videos... by the way can I post some links to your videos in a pigeon genetic site I may try to build? P.S another way to track barless without using the pattern series is to use recessive opal. I prefer this method. You can understand why.
Yea sure, just make sure you embed the UA-cam video rather than download and re-upload it. And yes, recessive opal is very closely linked to the pattern locus, I'm actually using that example in another genetics video I'm working on at the moment 👍

Hi Adam, can I use the same principle to get a Pure Oriental Frill seeing I was given two females (and in New Zealand its so hard to get birds full stop) and I've had to pair the youngest one up to a Blue Check?
Honestly I don't have much experience with frill, but yes I'd suggest using a cockbird with the closet body shape to your frills, then pair the young back to the hens.
Only if the blue bar carries the barless gene. If you pair a silver barless hen to a BB cock, then take a BB baby from the pair and mate it to the mother, you might get blue barless young.

Mine are fine, however it is very common for barless pigeons to have genetic vision issues. I'd say that is the problem with yours. I've bred he problem out of mine.
@@AdamArcherPigeons thnks for answering, my understanding is that family breeding could cause eye issues, but mines were not related in anyway. How did u breed ur eye issue out?

How to produce black pigeons?
How do you get barless in the beginning thanks
You need to find a pigeon who carries the gene.

Pair your barless to its parent or child to produce some more barless.

If you have two pigeons who carry the gene then just pair them together.

After seeing your videos i have planned to pair the red bar male and black female
You'll possibly get Ash Red Spread from that pair, a very pretty colour. I have a video on that colour on my channel.

Sir I have a question.. can we incubated racing homer eggs under different pigeons?
uhm yeah
What if i Don't have a barless bird yet? What color do i have to breed ? And what would be the first step? Thanks in advance 👌
The first step is to get a barless pigeon, or one who carries the barless gene. There is no other way.
Help me please: I don’t have a barless pigeon so how do I creat one from scratch
You cannot, you need to get either a barless pigeon, or a bird that is definitely carrying the gene.
My problem is that I have shirazi blood line and there is no way to find a barless shirazi
I'll make a video on bringing in new colours in the future, but in the second half of this video there are tips on bringing it in through a cross
