Got quoted 650 for new board. Came here to make sure no programming is required. Paid 165 for my board and now I know I can easily slap this on and keep the kids warm. Saved almost 500. Thanks!

Your videos are amazingly clear, educational, and helpful. I don't usually comment, but had to say thank you for this. I happened to have the same unit with a bad circuit board, so I watched several of your troubleshooting & swapping videos. I learned a ton about how my system components operate, and saved a ton of money performing this swap myself!

Thanks Sam super helpful video. My blower works fine on fan only (and I think heat), but after ~10m on AC it starts and stops the fan repeatedly. The AC unit in the back keeps running, it is only the blower that is starting and stopping, so I suspect it is the board. This video helped me understand a lot better. Hopefully all the connectors are the same as my replacement part didn’t have adapters

I've watched my fair share of "do it your self" videos. A lot of them have corny intros, elongated introductions, repetitive explanations, etc causing you to skip ahead to try to find the 2 minutes of the 30 minute video that will help you. NOT THIS ONE THOUGH, This video was GREAT! Straight to the point. Pronunciation and solid camera work go a long way! Keep it up

Great video i didnt start to get confused until close to the end when u changed the last nuetral for , and some of the old connectors that connected to the new ones instead of the board. But then it started making sense to why they gave you those new plugs to plug it into 😂 i feel like i could replace my own curcuit board with this video and some patience lol. Got quoted $1,400 for a new board install, along with $400 for a new capacitor. Ordered a replacement of both on Amazon ($160 for board, $10 for capacitor, WITH tax) and it took me, all in all, 15 minutes to install.
Thing is humming along nicely. Lesson learned: if you think that car parts and installations are marked up, let me introduce you to my friend Mr. HVAC.
When your markup is 10x-20x the cost of the part, plus less than 20 minutes of labor, there's something seriously wrong.

And our mechanic company A1 wanted to charge $1050 to do the job on top of $150 we’ve paid. In fact, they wanted us to get a new furnace by saying it does not worth to fix it while our furnace is only 16 yrs old and overall still great shape. Shitty business practices

Hey! Great video. Liked and subscribed. I got 2 quotes $6000.00 & $8,000.00 to replace my A/C system. Was told the controller was toast. My system will run and cool, only issue is the fan stays on. Possible bad relay on controller? Anyway, I ordered a new control board for $150.00 and will swap it out. If it works, I guess I get to save at least $5,850.00. Thanks for posting this video and breaking down the one by one wire swap.

Sam I have a little different scenario. I had voltage at all the proper places on my thermostat strip.
But I did not have power from neutral at the board and the terminal marked cool on the blower section of the board.
I did have power in and out of my transformer 120 on the primary side in 27 volts on the secondary side........,.....THEN....
I got a board off of eBay,
It was said to be a board from scratch and dent and it was tested.
However when I hook that board up (I did it one wire at a time plus I studied the schematic.
Now with this board I have no voltage to my thermostat strip at all nominal 24 volts.
I also have no power out of terminal S1 or S2 that is supposed to go to the primary high voltage side of the transformer.
Of course, consequently I have no power out of the low voltage windings of the transformer now.
However if I power the transformer positive wire black, from the D1 terminal on the board then I get power to the primary and secondary side of my transformer, and also power to my thermostat strip and all the proper places.
In other words between R and common and between yellow and common and between green and common. I have no power between white and common, however I am not calling for heat I am only calling for AC in this instance.
Does does this sound like my board from eBay is also inoperative? This is what I've come up with..... After all I have power into the board at D1 from my door safety switch (and before someone asks yes, the door switch is zip tied closed)
but again I have no power out of the board to the primary side of the transformer, and of course coincidentally no power out of the secondary side of the transformer, with transformer connected to terminal S1 or S2.
To recap I do have power in at terminal D1 but no power out at terminal S1 or S2. (Looking at the back of the board terminal S1 and S2 are a common hot)
Hope I've explained this properly, again my question is do you think my board from eBay is also bad?
Oh I forgot to mention the original board had water damage from an overflowing condensed drain pan. My drain is probably clogged I will tend to that at a later time.

Been watching all of your videos, thank you so much! I'm not getting any low voltage reading from the wires going into my thermostat (thermostat is blank) so I went to my furnace and took a reading at the board for RW, RY, etc., and only get 1.3 vac. The fuse, transformer, drain, breaker, etc., all checked out fine. Do you think I have a bad board? The fan turns on when I plug in the furnace but I can't turn it off since I can't get the thermostat to work. Help please, thank you!

I could use some tips. The heat works fine, and the ac works /sometimes/. We called a guy for it, of course the ac actually worked when he sowed up. He suggested replacing the board (and quoted $750 for that), but maybe due to the intermittence of the function it could be just like a loose connection? I'mma be honest I'm a bit intimidated to get in there. The number of cables doesn't concern me, I build PCs for fun, but pcs typically don't have live high voltage lines. D:

Hi Sam, I suspect my furnace control board needs to be replaced. Right now the fan keeps running and no heat, no matter if I set on or off in the thermo, and even if I remove the thermo from the wall, the fan keeps running. I know the thermo is responsible for connecting the red signal line to the green signal line to turn on the fan but if the fan keeps running even when the thermo is unplugged, I wonder if the control board is bad now. My furnace says Bryant and was installed in 2016. I wonder what you think?

@@Jafranmj it turned out that my issue is not related to the board. There is a heat sensor that will prevent the blower from ignition if it is over heated. The sensor is not functioning. You can test that by directly connecting the two wires going to that sensor together to by pass the sensor and see if your furnace ignites. If it does, then you just need to order a sensor which costs 20.
