Having now watched a few of Dami's pre Xfactor videos, I am a little skeptical that her audition was not staged to some extent to induce the surprise factor. Her audition clothing, hair and makeup was designed to make her appear like a giggling 10 year old and she played that role really well. Do I feel ripped off knowing that? Not at all. Its all showbusiness and I am really happy that xFactor has provided a vehicle for Dami to make it big and bring her amazing talent to a wider audience.
i know i am very late to the party and thankyou for your comments, i love talking about Dami, she is amazing and i am big fan. Yes they do try to create the Surprise factor because they do have a pre audition with other people/judges to access if they are good enough to go to this public Audition and they knew her potential, but the Judges at this show did not and to answer your question No Dami was not asked to dress or act that way she is all natural but she is usually not this quiet. But they do choose artists that have a sob story sob story to get Sympathy from the Audience. This show is about ratings and not really about the artists. Dami told me personally ( i run a fan page for her) that they had to sign a contract that they can portray you anyway they like otherwise you cant be on the show and it took years for Dami to shake of that image of a quote demure angelic like person, she is still very lovely but she will tell you what she thinks and is not what she is seen on TV a shy timid person, but she is reserved and a strong personality.
