Beautiful Budgies. So many color variations, and so lucky to have so much space. I raised Budgerigars as a child & teen. Have raised many small exotic birds, and now focus on Bourke Parakeets. All colors, including Rosies, Lutinos, Normals and Opaline Fallows. They're the size of Budgies, but quieter and uniquely pink. Envy your aviary space. Aren't all birds fantastic? Love them.
WOW !! Talk about dedication, u have a pergola turned into a avairy..fantastic !! So much room 4 the birds 2 fly around and b happy !! Its nearly like them bing in the wild..I luv cing dedicated pet owners..three cheers 4 u !!! 💟
I LOVE this video ! Your budgie aviary is the finest I have ever seen. I wish all pet budgies were lucky enough to be cared for this well. God bless you.
Hello! Your aviary is gorgeous! I can tell that all your birds are so very happy in this little spot of paradise. I wish there were more people like you who care as much as you do to your little ones.
very nice aviary. i pretty sure you have to do alot of cleaning up after your birds to keep your aviary top noch clean. i know this because i have a flock of my own and boy... they are messy eaters plus bird poops everywhere🤕
I think if I had stayed in Australia and married a different person my house would have ended up being very similar to this. My only question is how you manage to keep the place so clean. I'm not sure having a table in that spot is all that hygenic. I would not eat off that table.
Its a wonder that you have understood that they are moving into being part of your beutyfull outdoor home And not in only cages, i have a Bourke he fly in out as we're he a good chicken, going in for thr fox
Are the birds able to mate in this enclosure or do you separate them for mating in a smaller cage? How do you know which are bonded to mate or does that not matter? Thank you!
hi what are you give your bird they eating really well and they heath alot i have 3 female birds but they not heath as they use to heath birds are can you please hlpe me what food shill i give to my birds they go heath happy
Fantastic set up! I'm curious, did you start off with a couple of budgies in a cage like most people and then just expand to what you have now, or did you have this idea in mind all along? I'm asking because i think Im about to go the same way ha ha
+nancee Lowcarb We started off with 2 budgies in a cage indoors and then grew to 10 in a small aviary. I built this enclosure for my Conures to give them a taste of the outdoors and they hated it! So I let the 10 Budgies loose out there and yeah it just grew from there.
Lovely spot, so well done! How many budgies do you have? Do you have breeding boxes too? I don't know what climate zone you're in, but what do you do with the budgies in bad or cold weather? Thanks for the sweet video!
We have around 100 budgies. We breed them in individual cages twice a year (autumn and spring). We are in Australia so it gets quite hot during the summer but also quite cold during winter. The birds can handle extreme temperatures quite well so long as they are out of direct sun, wind, rain, snow etc. Half of the "windows" are covered in plastic sheeting to keep the wind and rain out, the other half are left open for sunlight. Thanks for watching. Check out the updated version I just uploaded that shows our breeding aviary.
I wait until it's night time to catch them and just pick them up off the perches. Budgies don't see well in the dark so it's pretty easy and stress free for them. I'd never be able to catch them with a net in there, it would be just a wild goose chase! If it's an emergency I'll use a spray bottle with water to wet their wings and then catch them when they're too wet to fly. They do moult usually twice a year and we don't breed birds that are moulting. The best time to breed is just after a hot summer is over or just after the coldest part of winter is done. Typically Early Autumn and Early Spring but every region has it's own weather patterns. 1st of February and 1st of August is when we start to pair birds up.
Kree Arra 100 BUDGIES? HOW MANY TIMES A DAY DO YOU CLEAN THIS AVIARY? AS BUDGIES MAY POOP 87 1/2 TIMES A DAY PLUS WHEN THEY MOLT AND EVERYDAY DUST FROM FEED'S HUSK AND WHEN THEY'RE PREENING EACH OTHER. NICE AVIARY / PORCH BY THE WAY.
+SINNER OR SAINT Just needs to be swept every day and a bit of a scrape with a paint scraper once a week. I get in there with high pressure hose once a month or so and clean the poop off every surface and scrub it all down with vinegar, the feathers are easier to vacuum up. Honestly it's the darn Guinea Pig that's the poo-machine! He is unbelievable!

I plan on making an aviary for my budgies soon, I have a question though - how do you keep them warm during Winter, vice versa?
Are the birds able to mate in this enclosure or do you separate them for mating in a smaller cage? How do you know which are bonded to mate or does that not matter? Thank you!
