Easier said than done. I like how the big guy didn't move or throw a single punch and let him carefully grab the back of his shirt.
These are the types of comments that come from people that dont train. Breaking posture from within the closed guard is not something that is shown in this video, but everyone from white to black knows how to do. Reaching to the back is then relatively simple.
Yeeh. Point well taken😮😊
Its not hard to break down posture youd know if youve actually grappled
@andrewjackson8045 lmao strictly bjj guys are so cringe, a black belt from my gym actually had the balls to get a real fight and he got knocked tf out on his back. You should know breaking posture is hard when your attacker is actually doing something😂
@@pandapancakes37 What so you think bjj guys just take turns posturing eachother down😂 get real bro that did not happen and if it did thats purely his fault for being on bottom in general
A few critiques. Firstly you shouldnt have an open guard. Keeping your guard closed allows you to use your legs to pull the guy in as he attempts to swing, robbing him of the distance he needs to do damage. Second one of your hands should be palm up while doing the choke to maximize the leverage. Third, your head should be on the same side as the choking hand (top hand) and should never sag down enough for him to get his hands on your face. If he was able to get his fingers into your eyes, you'd have lost the choke. All this should be done with the guard closed to help in preventing him from posturing up and creating space to attack you from.
This is an unsuspecting situation. Lol cmon
@@HJules-cw6fb what's that have to do with anything? That's the point of training. You do it to the point that the techniques become muscle memory because in a surprise attack, you don't have time to think. Your body has to resort to muscle memory and you fight how you train.

If it's a blood choke they do
@razaleesent.1579 if you do a choke that cuts off blood to the brain you can go out almost instantly.
@@mwoods5166not normally, correctly applied usually takes at least twice that time, 6 to 8 seconds is accurate. If it’s a loose choke or improper technique it can take longer.
Its definitely possible in three seconds. Really 5 guaranteed if done correctly. Anyone is out in 10 seconds for sure. Neither are a long amount of time so it doesn’t really matter as long as you have the chokehold applied properly.
Tip of the day, don't get your eyes gouged out

choke from the back of the neck ??? 🤔
If you’re in a MJW movie this might work but since you’re in the real world, after you miss the punch and can’t grab his shirt and he starts beating the fuck out of you, get your knees/feet to his chest and bridge your hips. Push him tf off you and stand up as fast as possible.
Exactly. Everybody's got a plan until they get punched in the face. Better have more than one "plan".
You cant just "stand up" lol, yah try and stand up on someone who is on top of you pressing his weight on you, you wont breathe. tbh this is the most effective solution, going for the choke is the quickest and best way to end a fight.
@@oogaboogaj fuck out of here with your blue belt lol the technique needed for a civilian to sweep and get away is a lot less than the technique needed to catch somebody in a choke
It's an option.
@@MrCk1234567890 No it isn't, if your on the floor with a guy thats on top of you and control over you how the fuck are you going to sweep them to the ground, thats asking more than trying to go for a choke, honestly the best answer for this would be to learn how to sprawl and never got dropped on the ground in the first place, or learn how to swallow your pride and run away. Orrr better yet throw them when their coming after you.
You said it fingers pushed deep in the eyes
I prefer the collar choke over this because you don't have to search and gather a bunch of material that you can't necessarily see. Also, they may be wearing multiple layers or a jacket which increases the chances of you not grabbing the correct layer or correct spot on the shirt right away.
Feel like that double forearm block leads nicely into a kimura which eliminates the possibility of the guy reaching up and gouging your eyes out, and also gives you the option of a hip bump sweep, or scissor sweep to full mount.
Hell yea!! No tapping in the real world. Snap that arm off at the shoulder! 😎
This! Way safer option
Exactly I thought the same I would hip bump sweep into mount
First thing I thought. Why bother with the T-shirt t-shirt that has a lot more steps in it And may Leave you more vulnerable.

So much this. I love my bjj, but a lot of bjj folks are insanely delusional. There is a reason, a REALLY GOOD reason, Demian Maia didn't sub everyone, striking royally messes up bjj. Not to mention no bjj guy worth his weight in dog shit would ever consider staying on their back in a street fight for even a second for the reason you states. Palm to chin and you're bouncing the back of his skull off the concrete like a basketball.
You are on your back and reach behind someone, you're getting a broken skull in a jiffy.

Meanwhile the dude your trying to choke, beats you unconscious
@@thejourney9415 for grappling the training can translate into fighting pretty well, but the thing is a lot of this depends on your personality and emotional response, if you are a focused, cold blooded individual you can use focus and trained technique in a fight after a year or less of training, if a normal person trains 3 years, there is a good chance they will still short circuit in a fight, especially for striking, good strikes and kicks especially are very reliant on being relaxed enough to keep a constant bend in your arms and not overshoot your swings and dodges, i just do striking myself but i believe grappling is more ingrained into us and easier to translate

Wow - you need a new role model cause this sucks - it’ll get you hurt
Tried this on my dog and this works🎉 I appreciate this so much, now he’s been asleep for DAYSSS, no more poop on the ground
Noticed when you reach for his shirt, he just stayed motionless. Do opponents typically freeze for 2-3 seconds during the first 30 seconds of a fight?
Not only that but when he grabs the back of the shirt the attacker moves his head into position in order for him to grab the shirt with the other arm and initiate the choke
It’s a fight… if the move is there, fight for that position and submission, if it’s not, go to the next option. This is obviously just for demonstration. If you train, you drill right? When you’re in the chaos and pressure of a real fight, the level at which you drill/train will be what you got to work with… so train hard.
Yes
@@4ozsamurai you just made my point. Never in the history of fighting has the aggressor who just tackled the victim, sat there for 2-3 seconds and let the person he is trying to hurt her a grip on their neck. Why would you drill for something that doesn't ever happen? It's bulshido for you UA-cam clicks. I can tell you, if I was on top of somebody and they tried that, I would head butt them into eternity.
He couldve gouged his eyes out or punched him in the face 10 times in that span 😂😂😂

Never fall into someone's guard. Always be looking for half guard or side control. Being in someone's guard can be bad if you don't know what your doing.
They can bring out a knife and you're in trouble in that full guard.
You will NOT be able to avoid guard if you don't know what you're doing 😂
Guard in a street fight is not like guard in the UFC. Once someone starts pounding your nuts or worse, twisting and pulling, all your guard training becomes a liability that might cost you your quality of life.
Never attempt this in the streets, man just got his eyes gouged out in the real world
Yeah man screw the shirt, if he gives me access to his ears then he's going to have to choose whether he wants to keep fighting or go to the ER to get his ears sewn back on.
Wow thanks internet sensei
Funny how people say that but thousands of internet fight videos prove you wrong. I’ve watched over a thousand fight videos and seen a couple street fights myself and no one eyepokes😂. Don’t know what fantasy world you live in but in a street fight under duress its hard to find the eyes
@@BigChungus-zg6zwgot a tough guy over here, hard to do anything without first breaking posture and stopping your opponent from smashing your head in. In close its hard to get off damage but if you let them have a stable structure its going to be a bad time

Its a favorite of mine so I am curious about this too.
An elbow strike is almost always more favourable
I feel like if someone’s going full throttle this would be a LOT harder to execute. I need to get my cheeks into bjj watching all these videos and different ways to submit people especially using their clothing looks awesome!
The moment you block his right punch, he will swing with his left and then again with the right. Nobody going full throttle is going to sit motionless while you grab their shirt.
Raise your hips up and force him to put his hands out to catch himself. Then his arms are yours to do as you wish.
@@unkownuser5809 don’t get me wrong I work and deal with aggression and it really depends. If they have been grabbed before I find they’ll go for a second punch but if they haven’t they’ll try and wrestle or pull your arm off. Same with if you’re restraining them on a bed and they go to bite you can then tell this isn’t the first they’ve been there 😂
Opponent leaning over allowing you to grab the shirt is cute.
Excellent. Real life stuff
Once he falls asleep you mash the hell out of him so when he wakes up, he'll remember why he should never try that again
And go to jail
@@Selfdefensegoat Its alright. He's only having a revenge fantasy. He couldn't hurt pussy.
@@Selfdefensegoatonly if you’re still there when he wakes up.🤔
@@Selfdefensegoatdepends on witnesses. If it did begin as true self defense you can choke someone out and get a few real good elbows on them and the police will understand/not even ask about it. Adrenaline is real and it takes a lot of self control and fighting experience to switch it off when your attacker is out. Cops understand this.
@@Selfdefensegoat can we at least crush his gonads a little bit? you know for the children and the future and freedom and democracy.
This MAY work for somebody who practices this a lot and who really knows how to choke. There are many things that can go wrong with this, especially dealing with somebody much stronger (which is problem to start with.) I've see guillotine choke working far better in these scenarios against really ripped and strong guys.
Time to train some BJJ then and get good at both
@@Selfdefensegoat I'm second degree in Judo & JJ but, been away from dojo due to some past issues. 🙂
Been in a lot of street fights when I was young as well. Shirt is tricky thing in those. I've seen them pulled off or ripped more than being used for choke. Although just pulling it over the head of guy buys you some time at least.

Exactly! When I teach beginners in the gi I tell them everything is analogous to a t-shirt or jacket only worse for the person being choked. There is a reason why BJJ gi's have nice stiff well padded lapels and collars. So much easier to choke someone with a shirt on.
wouldnt a guillotine be a more secure choice here tho? i mean if that shirt rips ur back at where u started
@unfortunatelyjacob499 No. Shirt collar gives you more leverage and more difficult to escape than a guillotine. Unless a shirt is very old and tattered, it takes a lot to rip it and if it does you have a nice loop choke
In street fight there are no rules Bro....they can bite you or poke your eyes with their fingers.

Don't try this with a wrestler.
They don’t know jitz
Well on the street assailants typically don’t announce their training backgrounds. Besides- should one just give up and quit- let them severely injure or kill you because the other guys is skilled in ground fighting?
No defense is perfect but you have to give yourself a chance right? If possible- probably have some takedown defense trained first and not go there in the first place but like I said no defense is perfect so you might end up on the ground in some parking lot anyway so this could be a contingency. 😎
