    And how is it now? Did you get your value out of it? I'm interested in this same unit

      Recently I have had trouble getting it to start, even after cleaning the carb and spraying quick start into the air intake. It is getting fuel. I am not sure what is wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Is this enough power for a home?

    I have 2 firman generators. 1 is a little 1200 watt and the other is a duel fuel 9400 watts. So far I haven't had any major issues with them but I also get them out every month and run them with a load. Then I'll drain all the gas in the carbrator before storing them

    I have the same generator. Love it so far. This serves as my emergency backup for power outages in Florida. A must-have if you live here. I wouldn't try to run my electronic stuff off this due to the messy sine wave output typical of the open-frame type generators, but for anything else, they're fine. Buy an inverter generator if you want to run electronics. Thanks for the review.

      would u run the furnace off this?

    • @mso4433
      @mso4433 4 роки тому

      @@BloodshedPanda Chris, it depends on the furnace. If it's all-electric, I don't believe this would supply enough amps to run it. If it's gas or oil and all you need is power to run the fan, this would probably work fine. Might take some investigating to see the power requirements of your furnace. Check the furnace label for amperage requirements. Good luck!

      @@BloodshedPanda I use this generator to run my gas furnace during power outages and it works fine. All the power that it needs is for the fan which requires less thant 1 kWatt.

      During tests and a power outage which I experienced during the pandemic, I run my computer, stereo and television without any problems whatsoever.

      @@gilleslafreniere I have done that as well Gilles. However, folks should know that these old-style generators can cook your electronics stuff, which can be expensive. I have over 40 years in the electrical field so I know a little. Electronics need a good clean sine wave and unfortunately these generators don't deliver it. I use a surge protector on my genny if I'm forced to plug in electronics stuff. The internet can tell you all about it. Good luck.

    I use this generator with a Reliance Control switch to power essential electric circuits in my house. The switch allows to choose which circuits I want to power and to power them with the generator in case of an electric power grid failure. I connected the circuits which are esssential such as the furnace (I live in Canada), the refrigerator, the circuit which powers the computer - television - stereo, ... If you are interested, look up Reliance Control switches. I'm a bit of a DIY guy and I installed the switch by myself using the videos which Reliance Control provide.
    During the pandemic we had a local power grid failure and I powered up the house with the generator (in conjunction with the Reliance Control switch). There I was with the house all lighted and heated up while the whole neighberhood was without power. I could sleep at ease until the power from the grid came back up.

    What is the required spark plug for the generator? Are they readily available on EBay or Amazon.ca?

    • @mso4433
      @mso4433 4 роки тому +1

      I forget the number for the spark plug, but I did order a couple from Amazon. They are readily available from a couple of manufacturers, including Champion. No problem with getting plugs at all. Amazon has a cross-reference chart. Just look up the spark plug type in the generator manual.

      @@mso4433 Thank you for the information. I did buy the generator a few months ago and I have yet to replace the spark plug. I will probably buy it soon. The generator works really well and I used it during a power outage in our area during the pandemic.
