It's a bit sad Bekowsky gets absolutely no recognition. Every single case they solve, the bossman's always like "SMASHING JOB PHELPS!".
That's because Bekowski does nothing.

Moon Detectives usually detail all the events of their investigation it’s likely he read them and saw that Phelps did most of the work
The story actually fills this in a little. Stefan gets 'stuck' in traffic and seemingly losses motivation at that point in Hsi early career. There's not really any interesting cases in his opinion. I'd like to think that he was kinda inspired by Phelps to some degree, as he takes more interest in the cases they are handed. Eventually, Phelps gets promoted to burglary, then homicide, and at this point Bekowsky also is printed to burglary. Later, after Phelps is promoted to Vice, we see Bekowsky partnering with Rusty in Homicide, clearly having shown his capabilities as a detective in his own right and out of the shadow of his partner with Phelps. What's great about this is you are right that he doesn't get as much recognition, but in the end he got hungry for it and worked better.
I just want to hug Jerma at the last hours he sounds sad and is constantly is being talked down by the chat with him being genuinely confused
