Don't know if you watched the show ER; in it Carter & Deb talk about doing an ISub in Surgery with Dr. Benton. I'd never heard anyone use the term 'ISub'; did they mean Sub-Internships?

totally off topic from this video, but I'm currently a college student finishing up my associate in biology. I've been looking up and just really making sure I do my research regarding medical school because I plan on becoming a Doctor. I was wondering in your opinion, what would be the best paitient care experience prior to med school? I've seen they do not require it,but they like to see that you know what you're expecting. I've been looking at medical assistant and EMT/Paramedic. Also, when is the best time to study for the MCAT and What is the best study tool? I know a lot of test prep places that actually sell books to study, but would like to know the best one?

Ridiculous “if you get to go home, great.” Sorry it’s not these guys, but the system is just a lil much...and breeds the ego of docs who are a lil much. Blah.great vid tho, thanks for good content!

its not about ego, its about going the distance to pick up the skill. Being a surgeon now, as a student I used to ask similar questions comparing myself to my friends from school who took up engineering, and how they had a blast after their lectures and how we had to go back home, go through the list of doubts we've picked up, do some essential reading for 1-2 hours after the end of our shift and manage to get 4-5 hour sleep, and prepare for the day, scrubs, meal, charge all devices. Draw a rough outline of the day, and what areas I need to focus to make my superiors, attendings, fellows, colleagues and my log book happy.
