Amazing led kit…it was honestly easy for me at least cause I work on my controller a lot…like changing buttons, aux ports, shells and other things…at first I got scared cause my blue light was really low but after searching through the comments I saw that it was a battery problem…I changed the battery pack and the blue light was nice and bright…PLEASE CHECK IF UR BATTERY ARE CHARGED WELL AND IN GOOD CONDITION…best mod I have ever done on my controller :)
honestly its not too difficult it just takes a while and I doubt you will break any thing if you fallow the guide and instructions. there are alot of tight spots when it came to putting the LED's on, mainly getting things to stick or stay in certain places. and make sure that you screw down the circuit boards kinda tight because if you don't then some of the buttons won't work correctly when pressing them down. and also sometimes if you don't have charged batteries or there like close to dead then the blue lights will go dim before the others. so I guess its also cool in that way too because it lets ya know that you batteries need to be charged .

Sure, so after the battery voltage goes down to 2.8v, the LED will not work properly while the controller still working. So we recommend you use the official Play & Charge Kit

Amazing product. Works great and video helps a lot. The most tricky part would be lining the lights up for the joysticks. Be very careful or the joystick might pull the sticky led off.

I opened a xbox controller before but still surprises me how simple and easy to understand the whole controller is comcaped the switch joycons and the 3ds (dont bring me back the that nightmare I went throught)
@@ExtremeRate I know joycons disassemble and reassemble take a round 4 hours max on a bad day (full disassemble and full reassemble) 3ds took me like a whole summer day (more than 16 hours of my life to fix a broken screen)
I would actually prefer soldering to this but that's probably because I have a temperature controlled soldering station and a magnifier for soldering SMT stuff already.
I'm about to attempt this install on my controller. Wish me luck! I'm confident in disassembly but will soon find out how handy I really am... LOL. I'll update once completed or uncompleted.

I ordered this kit and installed it and it works great! The only problem I had with it is one of the LEDs stays red when it is on the red color but that does not bother me too much. Also, my kit came with a mystery wire that was not mentioned in the instruction manual.
It might be an extra one in case you rip the one that connects both motherboards. That's what I thought it was. My only issue is that I can't get the blue color or purple for some reason

same, i ordered the one with the button logos still, ive got the transparent purple case from ExtremeRate so i think without the black buffer on the buttons and sticks it would be too much.

It just seems like a means to an end job that you have to replace better, but I'm still curious what the reason for it is besides a temporary or easy way to not make this an easy job anyone can do with the paper or you would maybe use tape or something else more permanent to keep them in place keep them from being in contact with the main controller board? Also, there's no annotations, advisory or caution in the whole video which in my opinion would really help instead of just the music.
Thanks for your suggestion. The flex was not connected with the mainboard of the controller, it connected with the metal plate of the mainboard, so a small paper will help it stay and connect better

And I don’t know why people are saying this is hard, this is a simple and easy to do mod. Stupid simple, I wish I had the money to buy this. I really do. After many long good years of use my og Xbox one controller got drift with my other controller so I’m replacing a lot of stuff while I’m in there this is my first time working on a Xbox controller though either ways if it goes wrong I can salvage it and make it a display piece think I might practice on a cheap controller
Just installed mine and once the batteries are put in, the lights immediately turn on. Did I do something wrong? To further clarify, unless I remove the batteries the LEDs are always on. Now that I think about it, my kit included a black wire that I did not install. I don’t believe the video or the manual shows where this goes.

Hello, Great mod here, I did it today,, I'm having one problem. Lights comes on for less than a minute while controller in use. However lights stay on while the xbox is off. i'm pressing away on buttons and using the anologs, staying on. Full Battery but it's a 3rd party. not sure if that could be it.. or is it when it rumbles, will test more to see if I can narrow it down. all buttons and sticks work normal on the controller. I did the wedge with the paper also, i was also thinking about soldering the Ribbon cable onto the battery contacts, but not sure if that's really the problem..
Hi, this LED kit only works when batteries voltage higher than 2.8v, so if you are using AA batteries, the lifetime is about 4 hours for the LEDs, after the voltage under 2.8v, the controller still functional, but the LED will not work properly. And if you use the rechargeable battery, please use the official Play & Charge kit, it works for minimum of 8 hours. And the second problem, the LEDs will not turn off automatically when your controller or console off, you should turn it on/off by pressing menu buttons (for 5 seconds).

I turned it on to see if it would come off again, trying to see if its really shorting out.. so far its staying on without it being in use with the xbox. Will try some AA batteries.. thanks alot. It works now. With the normal AA batteries which means it was the 3rd party battery.. thats my fault for not reading through in the first place about having the officiall play n charge kit or just regular batteries.. love the product. Thanks again
I just bought the XB1 Controller DTF LED Kit. I installed it and everything and when i press the menu button for 5 seconds, the LEDs just blinks red for one time. What should i do?

I just gave this a go, the 2nd part aint that clear as the hands cover up putting it under the pins (5:30 - 6:10 ) and I have no idea how your ment to angle the F pice so it fits evey time I tried it just fell out bloacking the 2nd motherbored when I went to but it back in. The glue is too faded to do anything now so im stuck with a dead product
Hey I like this design and just ordered this kit, but I have a question. Rather than using paper to secure the LED power contacts under the battery pins, could I use light solder to solder to the LEDs power contacts and run those to a known positive and Negative connection? I already have a custom led installed using these connections but I’m afraid of damaging the film that this is on by soldering.
Not that hard I tried the first time without looking at the vid and I felt like it was hard to understand but after watching this video once and following along, it’s actually easier then it seems.
@@eslymuddjr1320 The "colors" option on Amazon is the buttons style option, one is all clear buttons the other one is black buttons with clear symbol/letters on it. Both of the options are programmable with 7 LED colors :)
i have a problem with my kit it worked for the first day and then its stopped lighting up after that ive tried taking it all out and starting again but it still didnt come back on
What do i do when the blue color doesnt work anymore. I installed it and everything and it works perfectly. The blue color used to work at the beginning but then the next day it barely glows. Is there a way to fix this?

Get a usb(for example an android charger) and plug one end into ur xbox and the other end into ur controller and press the xbox button after it blinks for a while unplug the usb and u should be good to go

I turned it on to see if it would come off again, trying to see if its really shorting out.. so far its staying on without it being in use with the xbox. Will try some AA batteries.. thanks alot. If that works will definitely get the official play and charge kit. Thanks for the fast reply

It works now. With the normal AA batteries which means it was the 3rd party battery.. thats my fault for not reading through in the first place about having the officiall play n charge kit or just regular batteries.. love the product. Thanks again

I just bought the XB1 Controller DTF LED Kit. I installed it and everything and when i press the menu button for 5 seconds, the LEDs just blinks red for one time. What should i do?
I noticed at the end there was a cover for the thumbsticks and the D pad, where can I find those?
Oh, also all of the other buttons too, is that all in with the kit?

I just gave this a go, the 2nd part aint that clear as the hands cover up putting it under the pins (5:30 - 6:10 ) and I have no idea how your ment to angle the F pice so it fits evey time I tried it just fell out bloacking the 2nd motherbored when I went to but it back in. The glue is too faded to do anything now so im stuck with a dead product
Please use a folded paper to stick under the F piece after you insert it into the battery metal plate. Just like we did in 6:19 - 7:25

For me the lights worked yesterday but today they don’t work. Can someone from eXtreme Rate tell me what to do?
I need help my batterypack wont work. It works if i put the Charge cable in ,but with the batterypack alone it doesent. Batterypack is charged btw.

I noticed that the color in the light is hard to see, especially the abxy buttons. When it is in a dark room, do all the buttons light up evenly?
The LEDs are all the same, and the lights are even. But because there is a conductive pad above the ABXY buttons, so their lights will look dimmer.
Hey I like this design and just ordered this kit, but I have a question. Rather than using paper to secure the LED power contacts under the battery pins, could I use light solder to solder to the LEDs power contacts and run those to a known positive and Negative connection? I already have a custom led installed using these connections but I’m afraid of damaging the film that this is on by soldering.
Yes you can, but as you said it's the risk at damaging the film, so you have to very carefully and notice the temperature of the soldering iron.

This kit was designed for Xbox One standard / S controller, but @fight dragon made some mod on the kit to make it works on Elite Gen 1 controller.

@@eslymuddjr1320 The "colors" option on Amazon is the buttons style option, one is all clear buttons the other one is black buttons with clear symbol/letters on it. Both of the options are programmable with 7 LED colors :)

Yes it does, but you have to insert batteries in the controller to make it lights up

it worked for the first day and then its stopped lighting up after that ive tried taking it all out and starting again but it still didnt come back on
i think it has something to do with when i changed over the battery
i fear i may have bricked the mod kick

What do i do when the blue color doesnt work anymore. I installed it and everything and it works perfectly. The blue color used to work at the beginning but then the next day it barely glows. Is there a way to fix this?

Home button already has a white light so adding other color to it may lead the color difference.
ExtremeRate yea just looks odd with the home button light not matching with other lights.

Get a usb(for example an android charger) and plug one end into ur xbox and the other end into ur controller and press the xbox button after it blinks for a while unplug the usb and u should be good to go
