I use my wagon to mix stuff in and to carry my tools and buckets of water from my rain barrels. Age 74 with bad heart and back. My wagon is the greatest.
I have two benches! I bought them last year. Better than using a camp chair. I already have the saddle hoe. I like the idea of the seed square and the portable potting tray. Thank you the suggestions. I’m in zone 6b and gearing up for another great year of growing. ❤
Paul, the five you shared are all outstanding choices, I have the stirrup hoe also know as hula hoe and the kneeler, great for old people like me. My number one tool that I use and will always recommend to buy is the Hori-Hori knife, I use it for weeding, planting, making lines to plant seeds, digging up old plants, harvesting root crops, cutting string to tie up plants, it’s the most versatile tool in my garden pail.
I really enjoyed this video! I think my biggest challenge in the garden is kneeling and bending, so I want to try the bench/kneeler that you spoke of. I think your list is a very good one.
I absolutely love my hand weeder. Not sure what it's called but it's about a foot long and has a small double triangle shape on the business end. Also I use the 2 foot by 2 foot foam squares from the big box stores as kneeling/sitting pads 😊❤
The cobra head weeder, made in WI even. I have the original but they also make long handled and smaller. Its a handy tool for sure. I've always thought about the square seeder just never did. I was going to buy a blocker last year but many places were sold out (I don't do amazon). I found my kneeler at a garage sale for $5 and love it. And finally the stirrup hoe, best invention ever! I let my friends borrow my antique one and they bought one right away because she loved it, but she said my antique one is way better. Garage sales for the win.
Happy new year, Paul! Thanks for the video. I have four out of the five things you mentioned. What I don’t have is the portable potting tray. Right now I just use an old plastic bin for that. Perhaps one day I will purchase the one you showed us. I’ve always wanted one! The one tool that you didn’t mention that I use often is my Hori Hori. It is so handy!
I also have the stirrup hoe and the seeding square. Both of those are nice. I have a soft sided potting tray and have to say that I do not like it. I am going to get a hard sided one. The soft sides collapsed too easy when I was mixing soil.
The Prong. I have two: long Prong and weeding Prong. Long Prong is great for removing large buried rocks from the ground. The weeding Prong is, well, you get it. The man who invented The Prong died, and the fiture of the company is up in the air. Last I heard, everything was on clearance sale. Sustainable Me has a couple of videos on The Prong.

Hey hey from Iowaaaay! Happy New year to you too!
My husband gave The garden kneeler to me for my birthday this summer!
I really enjoyed this video!

I finally ordered a square!
I think you are going to love it!

The Hori Hori is a great tool, and one I don't own yet but definitely need to get! Happy new year to you as well!
