the JCB 2135 was probably the most reliable tractor I have ever had. JCB had learned from the problems of the 1000 series and put together a really good tractor. It was the last one of the Perkins engined models and a very good combination with the 3 (rather than 2) split in each gear, gearbox. Smooth-shift was a huge benefit when using the forwards reverse shuttle. Though I thought my 1135 was a fantastic tractor, the 2135 was in a different league. The 2140 I replaced my 2135 with was not as reliable. Surprisingly, the 5.8 litre Cummins engine had a few problems with the fuel injection system and I didn’t think it was as good as the Perkins. They solved the engine problem with the 2155 (and 2170) by fitting the 6.7 litre Cummins, which had some seriously better grunt. If chipped, over 200hp available is/was really impressive! I’ve got one of the last 2155’s and I doubt it will ever leave this farm while I’m alive.
Hello lads. I'm in Canada. Coming from mostly old Ford tractors. There's a 2135 fastrac for sale not too far from me with 7000 hrs. I am considering buying it to run on a round baler. I think the suspension would be really nice in the field, and the high travel speed will make getting there faster obviously. Can anyone provide feedback on how the transmission works, and if it would be suitable for the constant stopping/starting of the baler? My baler will make about 50 bales a minute, so there's a LOT of stopping, I don't want to wear out my foot on a clutch pedal. I currently use an 8830 powershift but it is slow on road.
Welker Farms Inc the larger models are even faster than that, around 44mph. Our one does about 35mph and that gives us the best combination of good working speeds and good transport speeds. Thanks for watching - it means a lot !👍
that fast track don't half shift great dpov -just started getting in ur videos love them learning so much about the life off a farmer not all cows n sheep as most city folk think
Spot on old fruit ! You're getting better... Yes, I first saw them on your channel and then I have followed him ever since and love his Live Feed shows when he films as he paints them and describes what he's doing.
That was disappointing , I was expecting a fire or at least some black smoke. Nice bit of Countryside , was this recently taken , hedges & trees looked very green , the leaves are changing colour up here in N Wales very rapidly .
lord muck I am considering on buying a fastrac preferably a 1135 or 2150 as ther is 2 for sale where I live going cheap under €10k tinking of spraying it silver & black any anyadvise on what I should look out for ? and how much are they going for in your area ?
All depends on age, hours condition. At that age you want to check all the usual stuff, find out when it had a clutch, check the brake discs and pads, suspension spheres (see if she rocks when standing on the cab steps, if not and she's solid then the spheres are bolloxed) check rear 'A' frame under the rear tray for wear. Check all gears, splits and ranges. Check handbrake, steering etc. Make sure props are greased and in good order. Just use your loaf and spend time going over it all.
Lord Muck thanks I'll give um a good going over but I am questioning myself on y would they be selling for under 10k thats alot of tractor 65k box and 150hp for that price seems like a complete bargain and it'll be my first legit tractor that ill own and not my boss's I also have my eye on a mint john deere 4240s 4wd also going for the same price only downfall is its a 30k box
Lord Muck just got off the fone with the owner of one of the fastracs he said it needs a brake chamber and master clutch cylinder alot of work and would blow my 10k budget ? the other fastrac 1155-65 is mechanically perfect just needs new tyres
@@LordMuck thank you for the update. I recommended your videos to a friend last week and I saw him 2 days ago and asked him if he had looked at any of your posts. His reply was yes a very real guy that, a very complete farmer. I thought that was a perfect description. Have a nice evening.
Many many years ago I used to drive a Zetor Crystal 9145 which had the duncan cab on it, Well this old thing also had had the screw on the pump turned up. Also straight through exhaust, By christ did she smoke but she made a lovely noise. You could hear her when out mowing a mile away. Miss those days sometimes.

I found the opposite ! (both great tractors though) but my 2135 never pulled as well as my 1135.

I could listen the that motor all day. Maybe I can get it as a ringtone…
Damn good tractor worked one in Hertfordshire a few years back, only gripe was a ify gearbox shuttle prox switch.
Thanks for the shout out my friend!! That handles really well on the road. Amazing
Cheers Scott !

Fantastic sight, the lesser-spotted Fastrac. Can't remember the last time I saw one round here.....well done Mucky!
Cheers !
Nice G.S. straight pipe exhaust!! Lol 😆 great running machine sounds well, love the videos and subtle sarcasm. Keep em coming

If I'd had to rely purely on farm contracting to make a living, I'd be stacking shelves in Tescos by now.
Scott makes bloody damn good fish baits! I'm still working on my English accent.

Nice machine you're using there
Love the video
Barks well.
That rig flies down the road. It looks pretty new.
It's actually nearly 20 years old Wyatt.... ! I like to keep things in good order if I can.
she's very clean burning, nice to see one that's chucking out black smoke
She's really clean unless pulling hard. My old 1135 smoked like a train.
Good video, she's in great condition
Cheers Sean.

Haha ! I was wondering who would be the first pillock to mention Fastracs and fires...
It was taken yesterday - been a better day today.
The Fastrac doesn't looks like it waste much time on the road. It can really fly.
Well it's quicker than an old Fordson Standard !
Here goes lol, Mark, known as Ging-gur( pronounced the same as finger) around Spalding in the trucking fraternity.
Holy crap, I thought you were driving on the wrong side of the road, but then I remembered you are in England!
Until then most places rode (horses) on the left in order to defend themselves (right handed) from approaching attackers
@@LordMuck What is it with the French eh?

Haha ! who knows ?
I'm currently reading various works and writings on Napoleon - quite an amazing historical figure who is very much misrepresented.
vice video what speed gear box do you have in it?
Thanks Caleb.
It's a 50k box which is perfect for our combination of track work and transport.
Will we see some of your other classic kit out for a spin???? H.
This winter I'll be re-cladding the cab on the JD 3350.
Hiya nice video whot part the country are you I am from Daventry Northants and been driving fastrack for the last five years take care buddy stay safe
Cool 👍
See I can’t even freaking buy one in the USA. THE JCB dealer is literally 7 miles from my front door. I want nothing more than a JCB Fastrac!

What are you wanting to use it for ?

Lord Muck it be used for drawing silage, slurry, and few odd jobs
the engine in that sounds really nice. :)
It's not a bad old lump. Perkins 1000 Series.
have you gone old school on this tractor " Double clutching on the gear changes " ?
It's a hard habit to break
👍
Is that a Perkins phaser 6 turbo in that?
Perkins 1000.6 Quantum
