Connie Smith Once a Day Lyrics
When you found somebody new I thought I never would
Forget you for I thought then I never could
But time has taken all the pains away
Until now I'm down to cryin' once a day
Once a day, all day long
And once a night from dusk 'til dawn
The only time I wish you weren't gone
Is once a day, every day, all day long
Well I'm so glad that I'm not like a girl I knew one time
She lost the one she loved then slowly lost her mind
She sat around and cried her life away
Lucky me I'm only crying once a day
Once a day, all day long
And once a night from dusk 'til dawn
The only time I wish you weren't gone
Is once a day, every day, all day long

Mona is my favorite. They can show so many more, but always Mona ❤️
Good rendition. I like that you added the French version in there. Connie recorded it in French as well.
I first heard of Mona Mcall on Texas Country radio. 📻🎶 Beautiful voice. Beautiful lady. Brilliant. 🤠
So Good to Hear Good Old Country Music Performed with such Class. Well Done!
WoW, Mona does it good!
Met Darrell and Mona McCall in San Antonio Texas back in 1980s They are my favorite ever since. Still play his songs on 45 RPM records
I saw Connie Smith sing this at the Opry the winter of '64. She tore the house down. Great job Mona.
I knew Mona and Bobby. Cold River Cattle Company. San Antonio Nite club.
I like to listen to Mona, Darrell and Bobby at least once a day, This is good old style country music.
Beautiful rendition Mona, thank You
oh man when I hear mona and Darrell sing I get shivers up and down my arms, true country
Very good cover of this Connie Smith song.
Wow a good job on Connie Smith classic. Great singer and Great band.
Mona does it so well love her voice and Darrell too.
Love it , Mona is great as always.
FYI the pedal steel guy on original was Weldon Myreck RIP. One of the best ever. Played with Connie Smith on many of her tunes. Great song. mos60
I agree. Connie said that Weldon was responsible for the Connie Smith "sound".
Class nothing but class true country. Love it.
Great Talent. Enjoying. Great. Thanks When The Cowboy Sings

And Connie Smith was brilliant.

Wow love the way she sing this song so nice.
Wow you do it so nice love it.
TEXAS. We still know how to do it. Just try to Come And Take It, Nashville.
love this song and singer thanks for this
Nice version of the Bill Anderson classic. Covered by many from Connie Smith to two time Gov. of Louisiana Jimmie Davis.
I love the music, but watching the video makes me sad. I played music for a living for 30 years, and played all over Texas. 6 nights a week I played in the old Texas honky tonks, and watched the young people dance the 2 step all night long, and now I watch these dancers, and they are all old like me. It was a great era, but sadly it's over. Now those same old honky tonks are almost all gone, and the ones that have survived are playing watered down country, or rap. Now days nobody would dance to my music. They all prefer Lil Wayne reciting a dirty poem with an out of tune bass, and an electric drummer...Guess I'm just a bitter old man, but it sure was fun in my day.
Patriot- don't be sad or bitter. Just think of all the fun you and the people you played for had at that time. I'm curious- where were the venues you played? There is still a lot of good music that you (and many others) would enjoy from some of the younger artists that aren't mainstream junk. I do miss those days too, and it sure was fun indeed.
@@DosBeetos, There are too many to name , but I'll give you a few. .. In Lufkin- there was the Shangri-la, the Foxcat, the Texas stage, The Oriental club...In Corpus Christie there was the Yellow Rose, The ponderosa, The Country Corral , The Ranch Club, The 7 palms....In Nacogdoches there was Bonitas and a couple more I can't remember....In Bryan/College Station, Gruene Hall....The Red Dog Saloon in Carlisle. Most of them I can"t remember the names of the clubs, but I played in Victoria, Longview, Dallas, ...There were dozens of others that I can't remember. We Opened for, or backed many big stars shows along the way....It was a hellova ride, and I miss it, but I still try to record some. I'm nowhere near what I once was. If you'd like to hear me, type in "utube Eddie nelson promised land", and that's me.
@@patriotpatriot473 Thanks for the link and for the info. I made several of those stops you mentioned in my time. You sound great in your videos. I enjoyed listening to them.
@@DosBeetos , did you play music also?
@@patriotpatriot473 I did not. I was one of those people two-stepping to the music you made around Texas. My hat is off to you for that.
Great job !! Liked the switch over to French as well. Wonder if that was Louisiana French ?
I believe Mona is from Canada --French & Native American. Sings quite often in French.
Well she can have a great career in south Louisiana.
whs1148 Thanks for the info. I guess a lot of the French in Louisiana originated from their ancestors in Canada. Mona does a beautiful job singing French and English. So many wonderful Country music singers come from Canada. Thanks Canada
@@MsLou-su5pj I believe most of the French in Louisiana are from Nova Scotia. Most were forced out and settled in south Louisiana.
fish doctor , you are totally correct. I guess I was going way back before Nova Scotia to CANADA AND EVEN FRANCE. IT WAS VERY INTERESTING when I did my DNA showing how my ancestors miagrated (forced out ) to south Louisiana. Sounds like you are very familiar with this info. Louisiana perhaps?
Like her version more than Connie's
Welcome to Sweden again (nicklas)
Good rendition, but just much too high of a key for this singer.
