Bam is neither more switchable nor a better defender than Evan Mobley. Be serious. Bam is a great defender. Mobley is the best big guarding in space in the nba by a lot. He finished 2nd in dpoy in year 2 and hes only gotten better. He guards 1-5 at an elite level. People discredit mobley because he slots next to Jarret Allen (who is also a beast tbf) the cavs defensive rating has been even better with Evan at the 5 as the sole big
I agree with everything you said accept that Mobley isn’t the best center defender in space, that would be Wemby, but those two are the two best defenders in the NBA by a country mile
I love Mobley, but in terms of switchability, Bam is pretty clearly better I think. Mobley is a better rim protector for sure and I'll hear out a case for either in terms of overall defensive value.
Sengun has been great on defense. And he's the 4th most important defender because he plays with all-universe defenders. Dude is the guy opposing teams game plan for (unlike Jalen Williams) and he still kills them. It seems like he can never be given compliments without the backhanded nature. Maybe as the Rockets prove they are for real that will go away.
Cavs def deserve 3. Celts on pace for 60 wins. Its just barely enough to get 3 allstars but im not sure whites resume is strong enough. 17 4 and 4 is fine but hes playing 34.5 mpg. If you adjusted garland minutes to whites minutes hes averaging like 23 and 8 damn near
Why are you acting like it is an “either or” situation here? They can BOTH be on it. Sam had both on his. Also, if you considering Derrick White’s All Star case and the first thing you bring up is his points, rebounds, and assists, you’re completely overlooking his best attributes as a player.
Here we go again with 2 guys from a certain demographic not watching the games and discrediting LaMelo for not winning. Can yall watch the games? The Hornets are not talented enough for this league. Ball and Miller is all they really have. Everyone else are minimal effort guys that are soft and can’t shoot in a shooting league. Yes LaMelo has his moments of taking some bad shots every player does but he passes the eye test and his individual numbers also proves that. He’s going to start in the All Star game and ain’t nothing you haters can do about it.
Rewarding players on bad teams leads to worse product on the court. If you aren't a play-off team you shouldn't be in consideration for an All-Star spot or All-NBA. It's how we've ended up with these stat hunters jacking up 15 3s a game.
I agree in many cases. That literally just happened with Lauri Markkanen. Hes good. But not good enough to deserve the contract he got. Scotty Barnes is another perfect example.
Lebron has fallen off a bit this season but I just can’t get on board with a guy averaging 24/7/9 on 51/38/77 on a team that is 2 wins off the 2nd seed in arguably the strongest western conference of all time, not being an all star
How does ant get the nod over Fox when they have nearly identical records but Fox's stats are just flat out better? Finding any excuse to make ant relevant. All of media really, oh cuz he's gonna be the face of the NBA? Fox had better stats than him LAST season too btw.
Sengun is inefficient because of his own flaws. He was guarded 1v1 vs multiple players and there are multiple times he fails. He and Jalen Green have the same efficiency. This narrative is so played out. I'm a fan of both, but stop blaming another player for the flaws of one player. Why even create this agenda Also, love you Sam, but you got to check your bias. Fox is having a worst season efficiency wise than LaMelo. Like what are we doing here? Where are these weird narratives for young guards coming from. Its kind of ridiculous. LaMelo more efficient and better counting stats, but he's someone you don't appreciate? LaMelo doesn't have Sabonis, Monk, or DeRozan. It's one thing to bring up team records, but this other stuff. Wild
Thinking that LeBron won’t be an All-Star is hysterical. Not only will he be an All-Star, but he will be an All-Star starter. In Year 22. He’s LeBron James.
Sam you gotta check out some Jalen Green tape from the last 2 games vs boston and lakers. He's doing everything he wants to do as far as getting to his shots, but he's also shown some much improved defense. using his athleticism to block shots at the rim, staying in front of stars in isolation, rebounding well, making some excellent passes, and starting to take the position of lead guard away from Fred. Im not saying Jalen has fixed the consistency issue but compared to past seasons, the lows have been higher and the highs have been more frequent.
he goes on these runs. He also has a true-shooting percentage seven percent below league average like he has in each of the two previous seasons. The good games are good, the bad games are just as frequent and are bad and we're now nearing halfway through this season.
Naming 24 guys for NBA All-Star and not naming LeBron is the most laughable thing ever. Not only will LeBron be an All-Star in Year 22, but he will be an All-Star starter. He’s LeBron James.
Yes, that is a HUGE issue with the way All-Stars are chosen. There are a ton of guys on more winning teams that deserve to be in the game, but for another year a play-in team will get 2 All Stars. No other team gets that luxury. LeBron has genuinely been a horrific defender this year, AD is just miles better at this point. His on/off splits are insane to look at. He WILL get in you’re right, but why would you talk about LeBron on a podcast like this, when you could give flowers to Sengun and JDub, guys on better teams who deserve their flowers?
Kobe was an Allstar starter even though he only played like a dozen games one year. LeBron will get the “legacy vote” not the “he is a top 3-5 forward in the West vote”
Tried to rock wit yall but some of these takes were ass, right off bat you said garland was more important to the Cavs than Mitchell .. wtf !!! 😂 cmon man
Offensively, think he's driven more play this year for the team. Mitchell has been more important overall because of the defense, which I think is true!
No it's not, Cade plays both sides of the ball and he's totally carrying a team that won 14 games TOTAL last year to the play-in. You can't just eliminate things like defense and rebounding from the game in your mind just because it suits your agenda. Cade's scoring more than Trae, shooting better from the floor and from 3, doubling up his rebounds, blocking a shot per game while defending top wings, and isn't even that far behind on assists. Trae might not even be the all-star guy on his own roster (JJ). I'd probably give Trae the nod over JJ but it's very close. Cade doesn't have anyone like that yet their teams have similar records.
Lol, no they absolutely have not. Not at all. Not even close. DEFENSE MATTERS, and you just named 2 traffic cone bums. You might as well throw Dame in there too Cade, Maxey, Lamello, Garland (even while sharing the ball with Mitchell) are all just as good or better
@ Maxey and garland are 2nd options so their names shouldn’t even be in this convo. I’ll give you Cade but lamello is worse on defense and not as good as either of these guys
@@rodrigomontoya4830 and yet one is a 50/40/90 guy as one of the best facilitators and passers in the league, and the other is the most complete PG in the East except for Cade who isn't quite developed yet. Sorry.

Lets be honest, curry doesn't deserve to be an all star this year. Give that spot to more deserving players like fox powell harden etc.

an all star for a 4th option when porzingis is here.who his 17.4.4 but nothing for herro who is 24.5.4
Trae Young disrespect is insane, he has outplayed Brunson in every matchup they get.
