Oh. My. God! Having been a fan of this band since shortly after 'Klinefelter' came out, to *finally* see this video after almost 20 years is just mindblowing. Thank you so much for posting.
What?! A Clockhammer Video! And here I thought I was their biggest fan! Surely this was from an episode of 120 minutes. I almost forgot that MTV used to be pretty great; Kids today have no idea.
I'm in awe. 20 years they have been my favorite band- never saw a single video. Closest I came to finding out anything about Clockhammer was talking to a guy at (i think) Tower records in Nashville who was friends with one of thier brothers. He only told me they had broken up, and that byron could possibly do a 3rd album. I got it last year but always wondered if they'd get back together. Was happy to see ken coomer is/was active in the alt country scene. These guys are incredible. I've always
The first time I saw these guys in a club they blew the top of my skull off. They opened with "The Girl From Impanema"-I thought to myself this will be kind of nice and relaxing jazz-pop-rock fusion of some sort, but then it was a sonic assault from the next song on. Fantastic band.
It's Carrot EP and it contains Standing By, Lament (first album version), Mother Truth (live version) and Shadowplay (studio cover from Joy Division). A friend of mine found it for me in a second hand shop in NY years ago.
Thanks a million for putting this up. I dearly wish there was more. Best rock band to come out of Nashville ever, IMO, and we're left with scraps...

Byron, Ken (later drummer for Wilco) and ? I guess Matt had to work and was not available to do the video.

Thanks for posting this!! I feel so lucky to have seen them live and they kicked ass of course. Very cool band.
They did a video for "Mother Truth" during the release period of their first LP. We aired it on our college music video show several times......
Awesome. Thanks for posting, man. The MTV stamp at the end says something about the Garrot EP. Can you tell us anything about this EP?

Thanks for sharing this rare footage!
wow they had a video?
I suspect the person who posted has all access :)
I don't say "before their time" often, but this band really would have blown up in the early aughts.
