I was recently gifted a 950b in 25ACP by my older brother. He bought it in a hardware store in Wisconsin in 1968, and it must have only a few hundred rounds through it. It’s mint, no scratches or grip cracks, complete with original box, instructions and cleaning rod. According to the Roman numerals it was made in 1968, the last year they were made in Italy (no safety). What an awesome little gun! So cool, and so tiny!
I could be wrong here but I do not think 1968 was the last year they were made in Italy, I believe it was the last year they were allowed to be imported to the US from Italy due to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
It is a nice small pistol. Also interesting for a carry gun is it’s ability to be fully loaded/unloaded without having to cycle a slide. The Italian one is nice as it has no safety which was added for USA sales compliance (not import compliance). This safety was awkward and unnecessary.
I bought one in excellent condition a few months ago for $150 in a LGS. It feels very slick, but I haven't gotten it to a range yet. Mine dates from 1964. Thanks for sharing.
Cool review! I just happen to own a mint Jetfire in the box. Cleaning rod, factory safety flag, and a leather Bianchi holster. Mine has the safety. Yep, says Made Beretta USA. Picked it up a few months ago at my local gun shop. Coolest little gun!
Your video montage/music was excellent. Entertaining instead of BORING like many of the other gun videos. The best thing Beretta has done recently is introduce factory threaded barrel models of their 21A and 2032 pop up barrel pistols. Has completely revived those model lines with strong sales.
Big fan of your videos. Found your channel when looking for videos about the Bayard 1908. I also have a 1966 made 950B with a serial of B85XXX. Just to warn you a bit when you fire it; it bites if you have large hands. Keep up the good work.
My pops just gave me this , looks awesome and the fact it says Made in Italy made it feel scarce and collectors item. . But yea I loved how you explained everything untill you got to simulation. I thought you would squeeze one into your hand. 😬
I want to buy an original plastic grip spare part for this gun exactly, plastic got broken... any recommendations?? 🙏🙏. **idk where to buy it, it only has the current model for sale(spare part)... which is not the same cause it has a safty switch
I poked around and only saw ones with the safety relief cut into them. Looks like they might be slightly hard to find. You’re looking for one for the Italian made guns.
The major drawback in most of these little Beretta's is that there is no extractor. They rely on the "jet" of hot gunpowder gas to blow the empty case out. Brilliant in concept, but if you have a dud round that fails to fire, immediate action requires manually opening the tip up barrel and hopefully "flipping" the dud round out. Then manually inserting a single round, closing the barrel and continuing to shoot. Not as big a deal with today's good, reliable ammo. Very cool guns, I had a later model i 7:31 n .22
I’ve been waiting to “flip and rack” myself but have never had a dud, a failure to extract, a failure to feed, stovepipe……anything. This thing is a “get off me” back up dream.
The problem with duds is hangfires are as likely, trying to extract a cartridge just as it ignites is bad for everyone. Also "duds" are often squibs so the primer just dumps the bullet barely into the bore and some smouldering smokeless powder loose in between the case and the bullet. The only way to quickly and reliably deal with a misfire is the new york reload. You need to deal with misfires slowly and safely on a range but the best thing to do overall is shoot enough varieties of ammo in different conditions (so don't skip range day when the weather's bad) and find ammo that won't misfire.
In have a Beretta 1934 that has the Roman Numerals... On THAT weapon, the Roman Numerals stand for the Mussolini Dynasty... He came to power in 1920, and the Beretta's that came after that, have the date of manufacture, as well as the Roman Numerals... Your gun would show as manufactured in 1942 (1920 + XXII)... EXCEPT that the 950 was first manufactured in 1952... But, I still think that the Roman Numerals have SOMETHING to do with the Mussolini thing...
Maybe you should watch the whole video before making wild accusations…..at 2:30 into the video the Realistic Snap Caps I use are thoroughly shown and examined closely.

@@MilsurpGarage I am sure you are correct.
I have the 950B made in Italy. I really like it. As a woman, I prefer to carry it over my ,38. Far less bulky. Doesn't weigh down my purse.

My favorite 25auto and I have a few. The Beretta 950BS and model 20 I always have with me
Dual wielding .25 pocket pistols.....I like it.
Yay another episode of “Milsurp Garage”! Always hit the like even before I watch!

I haven’t had mine to the range yet either, waiting for the big reopening of America. Check back in here after your visit, let me know what you think.

Thanks for the kind words. I should do a revisit with this one.
Recently acquired a 950BS...it already a favorite, might have to insert into the carry roster...the gun just runs...
They make an excellent back up pistol.....

Yeah....you are right. Its real sharp too. I’m careful. Thanks for the kind words and for tuning in!
Will do. They are certainly realistic looking.
Oh, I like the Jetfire. I have a Tomcat and a Bobcat. Jetfire is next.
Yeah, it’s nice that they have .25 caliber. Thanks for tuning in.
I just got one
Nice....how do you like it?

You do know that those were inert snap caps, right? I use those exclusively for function testing. Thanks for tuning in!
I have one of these made in 1964. I have either it or my Colt 1908 in my pocket every day.
Or, one in each pocket! 😉
Cut to the chase, can the music!
Exactly.
Music belongs in the credits, if people like it they'll keep listening.

You are right. I missed it. Please accept my apology.
No need for that, no worries......check out those snap caps though at realisticsnapcaps.com. You will love them.
It's almost identical to the Beretta Bobcat in 22LR. Though the Bobcat is SA/DA, 7+1, with a thumb safety.
The Bobcat is also substantially bigger, about the same size as the .32 caliber Tomcat.
Tomcat is slightly thicker than Bobcat
Used to have one of those. Somewhere along the way I let it get away.
A lot of people say that about Berettas I notice.
@@MilsurpGarage I stopped trading guns years ago. Seemed like any time I traded one off I always ended up kicking myself for not keeping it.

hey brother i have a 950 bs 25acp...my safety is really difficult to actuate...any fixes you kno bout?
what price is this beretta?
Nice video. I have a question for you. Have you ever fired Buffalo Bore 25 ACP Flat Nose ammo through your Jetfire?
I have not. I use PMC .25 ACP. That Buffalo bore stuff looks interesting but very hot loads worry me a bit sometimes.
@@MilsurpGarage
Thanks bud.
Can you help me find an Italian 950 . Love the video thank you
Much harder to locate an Italian one but they are out there. Try Gunbroker.
I had two of this pistol at the same time. But i sell it 😩

I have one of those. No.ssfety but you can't rack the slide unless you cock the hammer first. Must be a malfunction
Are you sure you don’t need to rack a little harder?
Any known difference between the Brazil made and the Italian made 950's?
Just got a 950b. To be safe, is it alright to shoot .25 in it if it says 6.35? I know that is .25 but is there a difference in its load?
No difference.
The gun is loaded and cocked with one in the chamber. And you are pointing the gun at yourself while you push a dowel down barrel? A lot wrong here.
It's called function testing using totally inert snap caps. Gunsmithing 101 dude.
I want one
They are out there. Gotta look around a bit more for the Italian ones but they pop up every now and then.
I have one with gold trim any idea how much it's worth?
Only completed sales of a similar item can answer that question.....do a Gunbroker search for completed auctions.
I got a Beretta B-cal 950 6.35 with Roman numerals XXII PSF serial number B80670 with original magazine. Any info would be much appreciated.

Nice pistol and history lesson but the music in the intro was really fucking annoying. Still a 👍
The Brazilian
Is that a nickname they had?
What not to do with a gun
Letting a live round slam home while pointed at your hand...bad idea.
