Apologies if you've answered already since I haven't peeped your reaction to the movie but, are you guys reacting to the Percy Jackson show? Glad you guys are enjoying What If season 2 so far btw.
You know, as a major Star Lord fan, I see this episode as an absolute win. The second episodes of both seasons of What If? are focused around a Star-Lord variant, and I couldn't be happier.
She may not have done much more than fly the jet and examine Quill's ship. But it was still nice to see a bit more of Mar-Vell than just the flashbacks we got of her in Captain Marvel. 🤣
I like this but i don’t like the marvel humor and jokes and all that. I know it’s a cartoon but it’s like they don’t know what’s at stake and are joking around having a good time. I thought season 1 didn’t do that at all except for maybe the party episode. Kinda disappointed about that but everything else is okay
She's actually proof that marvel knows how to write good female characters, when they aren't focussed on 'the message' They could've made her arrogant like Captain marvel, putting down all the male characters, and is instantly perfect, but they didn't. She accepts help from male characters, she makes mistakes, and the closest thing you have to her putting down people is typical banter of a team.
Hope is the one who actually saved the day by telling them to deal with Peter like a child instead of an enemy. That convo between him and Hank would never have happened. I liked this better than the first episode
Bill had such a cool Goliath costume, but I wonder if anyone will be wearing it in live-action. What I liked about this episode is that Hank and Howard tapped into their humanity to respectively bond with Peter and talk Bucky down. It’s also cool to have Atandwa Kani return as T’Chaka in his prime.
I would've liked it if he had some dislike or distrust towards Quil, cause he did destroy Asgard and Yodenhiem, for him to just be jolly at the end is a bit weird
S1 was Good, but seems like S2 its becoming a lot more the first episode I would give a solid 7.2/10 And the 2nd is easily an 8/10 I have been loving this season it’s so good
Season 1 had some mediocre episodes and the party Thor episode was terrible. Season 2 is 1/2 so far where this episode was fine, but incredibly rushed.
@@slenderphizics What mindset? Actual quality and having standards? This episode did a poor job at selling the emotional impact where the team forms and has no real dynamic. Bucky makes his turn very quickly and the episodes aren’t long enough frankly. The way Ronan went out in the first episode of this season was embarrassing with just the door closing. This isn’t exactly Blue Eye Samurai or Primal where Primal has no dialogue, but is significantly more emotionally impactful with the same runtime.
The winter soldier introduction sent chills for me and the chemistry they had was really avengers like so that checks out , I also really liked Thor in this one for some reason, and the ending seeing them as a team, that I'm really excited to be watching more of!!
Loved the episode. This one was serious yet light hearted, intense yet emotional. The 1st one was better but this one was good too. I hoped they wouldn't nerf Thor tho, thor vs Ego could have gone hard but ig this was Starlord's show.
Plus lets not forget Thor isnt a GOD God. He's just a god to humans, but again they are essentially "aliens" with more magical technology than humans and can live longer. Ego in the meanwhile is a Celestial (an actual space god), either being a planet or heck have forms that are taller than 3 Earths

Also, secret wars literally has an entire police force of Thors. 1000s of Chris hemsworths. Not sure if you’ve read the 2015 comic…it can realy *only* work with too many characters. I’m not saying everyone will get dialogue and 10 minutes of screen time but we’ll see em

In just this one 28 minute episode I felt the same joy as I did with the first Avengers movie! This is absolutely and Avengers team I would love to follow. I also love that they got Atandwa Kani who played young T’Chaka in the first movie (who was the real life son of the original T’Chaka John Kani) to reprise his role for this. And we got to see Laurence Fishburne’s Goliath in uniform finally!
Notice when howard is trying to get through to bucky when bucky closes off howard the lense on his scope goes completely dark but when howard mentions steve the light re-enters his scope as he is coming back to the light and choosing the right action
I do wish it was longer so the character introductions felt less rushed and some of the emotional moments had a larger impact. But I’d also be lying if I said I didn’t have fun or it didn’t have a few nice moments. I really like how both episodes have wildly different tones.

I love the fact that it’s just a quick glance. It’s in & out in 30 minutes. “Wanna know more, or well, we’re just checking in.” Again, just like in the comics.

Like the previous episode I'm actually very surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. 8/10. I think these episodes are brilliant proof of Concepts. It kind of makes me wish we had an opportunity to truly explore whole shows with these types of episodes. I would love to watch a whole show on just nebula in a film noir type show or an 80s Avengers show!
Honestly, there aren't as many good ideas this time around, but they're making them great. I hope season 3 has all the heavy hitter concepts like "What if the Other Half got Snapped?".

Yea sure, he was more enjoyable but even when he was more “serious” from Thor 1-AOU, he still cracked jokes and was fun to watch on screen. I thought leaning into the Norse mythology side was actually cool and seeing him as an absolute powerhouse instead of a bafoon we see nowadays was always better.
I would love to have a King Azzuri episode because they keep hinting him, and he is supposedly the wisest king of Wakanda. So to see an episode with him and maybe Isaiah Bradley would be awesome

One was her father, one was her mother and one was her brother. Peter has a grandfather, grandmother and uncle waiting for him. What happened to them?
Yeah I feel like this episode should've been way longer but I'm glad little Starlord got a happy ending. Even though I expected him to be the big antagonist the whole time. My current expectation is that at least some members of the 80s Avengers return in the finale because their whole team up and interactions seriously feel like the Avengers 1 coolness for me

A Kurt Russel vs Michael Douglas movie set in the 80's but made in 2023 with kid Star Lord pulling a Ray Gun is something I didn't know I needed ! These first 2 episodes are hitting HARD ! This season stars on the rocks ! Couldn't be more excited for it ! First season was overall okay (although everything with Supreme strange and the final 2 episodes with Infinite Ultron were some of the best the MCU has ever done), and I'm super glad this season is putting the bar so much higher !
When Winter soldier had that shot on Peter my brain did the same thing like oh idk maybe he will, wait animated kids show they won’t…but maybe it’s a dart and hydra has Bucky deliver him to them thought it might go that way for a second. The fact they get you concerned enough in the moment for key characters is a testament to how good these first two episodes are.
Hope needed to be there as a friend/sister for Peter. It made sense for her to be there…after someone (not her father) tells her not to go rogue again.

Hank Pym is "Father of the Year" for that bowl of cereal and potato chips. I would've been moonwalking like MJ if I got that for breakfast as a kid.🤣 I'm loving that team formation and I do hope that they come back for a later story. I'm still wondering if they're going to do another major crossover between the individual stories or might go a bit smaller and only have two or three of the universes come together for a story confronting a big villain or group of villains. It'd be nice if it's a villain or villains we haven't seen yet as an early glimpse of characters that would be seen later in a live action project. The Masters of Evil (Radioactive Man, Whirlwind, Moonstone, Grey Gargoyle, Quicksand and Absorbing Man) lead by Count Nefaria would be interesting. Enjoyed the reaction 👍👍✌ out.
Enjoyed it a bunch but felt like there were only two acts which is why it ended abruptly. Also felt more like Bucky’s origin into the bigger picture than 80’s Avengers in retrospect.
It was such a good idea to put Lawrence Fishburne in this one as an ant man. I love how what if doesn't forget about details and minor characters like that in scenarios that would make sense for them to be in

I loved Goliath's costume! It was a great combination of his comic suit and MCU Ant-Man suit.
The Thor in this episode was better than the Thor in love and thunder. His seriousness in this, made him back to an actually likeable version of Thor

Season 2 is pretty good so far, but I don't get all the salt for Season 1. I really enjoyed season 1 all of the way through.
Which by the way one of the episodes in season 2 belong in season 1 the Gamora episode so you will have to judge that as a season 1 episode.😅

Amazing, concise, & remarkably detailed. Very fierce & damn awesome job for an animated series of less than an hour long.😳
Most animated series are 22 minutes an episode and the rare ones are 40 minutes or longer.

Bucky finding his way in 90's NYC is something I need....and does some KGB from Brighton Beach, Brooklyn run into him....so many stories.

Forget a hour about a What-if movie. It would take a year to animate but it would be worth it.

I just wish it had been a continuation from season 1 where Ego visited teenage Peter at Dairy Queen.
What this episode also did was save Howard Stark. Winter Soldier won't un-alive Tony's parents in 3 years.
I loved the little western whistle when Ego showed up, in a classic western frame.

Another good episode. Ive noticed the recurring theme so far is TEAMs. We got Nebula and Rock, Paper, Scissors and this episode we got Thor-Vengers

I'm loving that team formation and I do hope that they come back for a later story. I'm still wondering if they're going to do another major crossover between the individual stories or might go a bit smaller and only have two or three of the universes come together for a story confronting a big villain or group of villains.
It'd be nice if it's a villain or villains we haven't seen yet as an early glimpse of characters that would be seen later in a live action project. The Masters of Evil (Radioactive Man, Whirlwind, Moonstone, Grey Gargoyle, Quicksand and Absorbing Man) lead by Count Nefaria would be interesting.

When it comes to animated shows and television sitcoms, they typically are 30 minutes or less. That's standard.

This was a fun episode! I realize it is your job, but it must be exhausting having to nitpick everything to death.
Enjoyed it a bunch but felt like there were only two acts which is why it ended abruptly. Also felt more like Bucky’s origin into the bigger picture than 80’s Avengers in retrospect.
