I’ve heard this one several times and it’s among my all time favorites. The ending is so tremendous. The first time I heard it I was flabbergasted. But the next times, when I knew it was coming, I wait with great anticipation. And Ralph Moody, too!
Bill Conrad's Matt Dillon is so much more bad ass then Jim Arness's.I feel like u could mess with arness's version..but I absolutely would NOT screw with Conrad's Dillon..cause he would put u six feet under in a heartbeat.
N.H. 420 Conrad sounds badass but have you seen him? His fat ass ain't fighting people like Arness's Dillon did.Plus Arnes killed someone in almost every episode ,sometimes 2-3 people
@@Usrname.24 Do not underestimate Bill Conrad. He was a fighter pilot in WWII until he was grounded for flying under the Golden Gate Bridge. I think those beefy fists could well have smacked down the criminals whom his character decided to disarm instead of killing them, which is what the character did in numerous episodes. I would not have wanted to get into the ring with him myself. And his voice was light years more effective than that of Arness. scontent-ort2-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/12036695_805518769574284_4776332933259053384_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&ccb=2&_nc_sid=9267fe&_nc_ohc=p7XxeXVq6-0AX_tCIrr&_nc_ht=scontent-ort2-2.xx&oh=46f0af657ab373292e0bf7cea2b9a080&oe=602964B2.
@@Usrname.24 I don't care about what Conrad looked like. He was a VOICE ACTOR and a great one. When I listen to him he was a bad ass any lawman but respectful of the law almost to a fault. I admire Marr Dillon 's character and the man who spoke for him.
Ralph Nicksarlian I agree that his version of Dillon was more badass. I don't remember how this back and forth started, I only repeated what I had read regarding Conrad not being considered for the tv role because of his weight. Honestly I don't take comments about tv and radio etc too seriously. I mean who gives a shit . Sorry if I offended you ,are you by any chance in the Conrad Fanclub?
@@Usrname.24 No worries, it is just fun to comment. We are all in a unique club that loves the original radio version of Gunsmoke. Listening to these episodes takes me back to my carefree days as a young boy in the 1950's.
but those were different times mark. I grew up on radio in the 40s, 50s and 60s and it was great, now we have to watch commercials about ED. Now that is sad.
The ending was hilarious and gratifying. I enjoyed it just as much as the first time I heard it.
Lol. Love the ending on this one
Great PSA after the episode on how to avoid the dangers of falling. It is better than anything you hear today.
Most Excellent...

I posted the same before I saw your comment. I might take mine down, or maybe I'll leave it just to show you're not alone.
The ending surprised me and was not what I expected at all. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Cool
Thank you!😊

The commercials are just terrible.

I like them. They're part of the time capsule of this old time entertainment. I do hate contemporary commercials though.
Hey, L&M is a great cigarette and almost as good as a Chesterfield.
