Of the 8 allowed replacements per team, 7 are designated as forwards (slow heavy players) and the 8th player is a backline (quick athletic player). The gamble is, if more than one backline player get injured, slow forward designated players will need to cover in the backline. The advantage is that forward players tires more quickly and more of them can be replaced in the match.

No ways, Why willie??? I would say that Moodie would have been a much better choice, centre, full back, and wing could have been covered with hom, Le roux is Meh.... And Canan adds to the length of catching those high balls, ask NZ, they know... And he can tackle, kick and attack much better... But tjommie tjommie plays a big role here...

@@maridejager7931 true... Willie in his 34s I guess? Canan has more will to tackle someone, catch a high ball, and go head on through their backline vs Willie... Someone like Esterhuizen and moodie, could make a big difference in our win vs someone like kriel and Le roux, just because they played more games does not mean they play better... But like I said, I would have played Moodie, as we have only 1 reserve that plays full back, why not grant williams? He can play wing, centre and scrumhalf... Moodie can play centre, fullback and wing... Le Roux can play fullback and thats it? With one sub its a risk we taking...
