- In honor of World AIDS Day (12/1), I want to share a very special and intimate story of my life.
Motherhood is something I thought was not meant for me due to the traumas I’ve experienced in my life. Yet, Universe, God, Love, had other plans.
I am so thankful to be an HIV+ mama!
Anything is possible if I decide it is. 🫶🏽
RIP to the beautiful souls that were loss to this virus due to the stigma of HIV/AIDS or the lack of resources and community.
I am especially thankful to the humans that donated their bodies to help find a cure. I am here because of YOU and I will continue to use my voice to honor those that came before me by spreading love and factual information about what is possible for people living with HIV or AIDS.

This video gives me creepy vibes that i cant quite explain. Part of it is that you seem to think extremely serious issues are funny. I never expected copious giggles in a video about HIV. HOPWA case manager here! It is refreshing to see someone willing to tell their story about HIV. There’s so much stigma around this and information/education help break the stigma. Keep telling your story.

Before you speak you need to do your research. HIV positive mom in Africa have been . breast feed for over 15 year their baby's are healthy and growing . Also the cdc has also Said its better to feed baby your breast milk. So hush and mind your business.

My older sister had HIV when she accidentally got pregnant. My niece was born HIV free. She’s a prefectly fine 24 yr old. My sister died 22 years ago at the young age of 29.

As someone who believes in Jesus I would caution you to look into horoscopes. This may be hard to hear but they are actually demonic and the Lord tells us to stay away from them. Even when undetectable, to be extra safe, its recommended that babies are formula fed instead of breastfed. Conservative Doctors will always make this decision because once the baby is born, its not about what you want, even as their mother....its about what that child NEEDS to keep them safe. Extra precaution is always recommended. Glad your untransmittable- but playing it extra safe does no harm to the baby 💓

I took depo for a year and couldn’t get prego again for like 5 years but my baby boy was also meant to be born when he did ❤ my grams has hiv since 89 I secretly knew as a child I would always pray for her she confessed to me when I was 16 nobody knew I knew I was just very aware of everything and literally heard everything ppl said. She wasn’t supposed to live as long as she did according to the doctors. My grams still alive and undetected I’m extremely greatful to God 😊

Had me until the breastfeeding part. Please take the professionals advice. Your “research” does not outweigh they professional experience. Just because some method worked for another woman doesn’t mean it would work for you. It’s a reason they were so concerned that they would threaten to call the police. It would be a good idea to take their advice seriously obviously they know something.
No woman who has been undetectable that has breastfed has given their child HIV.

If my body was sick and not 100% I would not try to “share” or “spread” the things it produces to my offspring no matter how tiny the risks were. Sometimes pushing the envelope unnecessarily doesn’t lead to anything good.

I didnt like the first interview i saw with her because she was like all over the place, and she was like laughing at things that werent funny to do with her diagnosis. and the night she met King....so i was like is this a joke but then i realise she was probably laughing at the decisions she made, like when u look back and say i was so stupid i cant believe i did that. So i went on to see the beginning of her story and this interview here I love. This more showed the person she is. i love how she did her research how she didnt let her diagnosis determine her future and how she still strived for greatness and normalcy. I also love her persistent personality and how she just dooesnt go for what professionals say she has her own thoughts. Im so glad she touched on that topic of that formula they give ur child in ICU or whatever. firstly they give it without permission and they didnt even offer me to pump of my milk cause that first breast feeding bond is irreplaceable. the benefits of breast feeding and the effects of those manmade formulas . All my child was having done is test i couldve breast fed. I would really love her to private msg me with the formula she wouldve approved for her child. So i continue to follow her now and wish her even more success
I Experienced 2 Ectopic Pregnancies And Man Those Were The Worst Feeling Ever …..But I Already Have Two Kids So I Am Still Greatful. And When You Have Ectopic Pregnancies It’s Not Your Fault And There Is Not Much Info On What Causes It.
Dr can really be cruel sometimes, when i was about 3months pregnant. I was in alot of pain to the point where i couldnt move and was crying. Me and my mother went to the er. At 3 months i wasnt showing so the dr questioned if i was even pregnant & they wanted to see my mychart ( which i didnt have at the moment) the dr then proceeded to tell me if i was having a miscarriage there was nothing they could do. And i was so outraged because how F-ing dare you. I reported them & went to a different hospital ( my baby is alive and well.. she was just growing & thats the pain i experienced) . Your A great mommy for advocating for your daughter. You knew what u didnt want for her and im glad you pressed the issue. God bless you & your family 🩷
Why were you so adamant on breastfeeding? Was it because of ppls judgement of formula feeding? Im only asking because i cannot breast feed myself. Im not positive but I have a double mastectomy so I dont have breasts. My child is 1 now & perfectly healthy & never had an ounce of breast milk. I gave my child kendamil formula & I was able to feed my baby kendamil from the jump. I took a can to the hospital & requested they only feed him that. Breast milk or formula the most important thing is a healthy baby whos fed.
I think some people just feel compelled to do it knowing the benefits. Most of us were not breastfed so we know that there are more ways than one to raise a healthy baby. I am the breastfeed person. Now if I was unable to, I understand not breastfeeding or if it was just not what I wanted to do, I get it.

Just add the incurable std status to the driver’s license. Mandate everyone to go get tested every 6months or at the time of testing. Old driver’s license gets destroyed, if stolen or lost you can still check online the most updated std status showing the testing date. Go get tested, doctors report to the state, the state puts in on the driver’s license. Can request to see drivers license with the most updated std status and testing date. Solution for minimizing and preventing spread of STDs. If someone refuses to show you their drivers/ state license you know they have an std.
That would be ideal but then it would also make people even less likely to get tested because of the stigma unfortunately.

I’m happy you where able to conceive but trying to breastfeed is a bit selfish the good always have its bad just do your research because a mom went to jail after breastfeeding her baby even while being undetectable and the baby got it. The blessing is the Baby that alone is something to be grateful for breastfeeding is a desire which I get it by why even risk it? I’m for HIV people having babies but on the nursing side plus mother side if I was ever positive I wouldn’t even think about breastfeeding the internet is only going to show the good outcomes but their has been cases where women have been undetectable and taking their meds through out their entire pregnancy and the child still comes out positive just because they aren’t broadcasting it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. These hospitals can be so cruel and evil, these nurses and doctors can be so heartless I’ve seen it myself. Not to dismiss the king caring nurses , but she. labor and delivery in a hospital is traumatizing
The American academy of pediatrics changed their stance and now allow breastfeeding with HIV positive without consequence. The benefits outweigh the negatives in their opinion.

I’m so happy for you and sad with the treatment you got at the hospital. In my side of the word HIV+ mothers who are undetected are allowed to breastfeed since the risk of the baby dealing with malnutrition and consequent weakened immune system far outweighs the risk of contracting the virus with proper retroviral management.
So far, I haven’t personally seen any cases of transmission through breastfeeding. But I understand that laws and guidelines differ from place to place.

While the chances are lower due to the nature of the vagina being more pliable hence causes less tears and exposure to blood for the man, viral loads being high can still expose you and if there’s blood in her secretions. Please use protection and always get treated with a new partner. There is always a risk with sex unless you don’t have any. Anal sex does leave more of a risk for transmission due to the friction and tearing. Oral sex is also risky since semen carries the virus in an infected person.

However, I’m still trying to understand why you were so willing to breastfeed the baby even after the doctor/nurses suggested that there maybe a chance that the baby could get affected with the virus? I would think that you would be more appreciative to do so.
Yes because the chances of me giving my daughter HIV is if became detectable by stopping my meds and even then, the other layer of protection was the fact that they were pumping here with antiretrovirals the first 3 months of her life. The is always a possibility anyone can get hiv- it was be a 0% possibility it would have been from me though.
